It depends, when was the car mapped?

QUOTE(fr0sti3 @ Oct 6 2011, 09:19 PM)
anyone changed to coil car mats for their VW?
i'm thinking about gettin it for my polo, wondering what's the diff with yuma oso
*
I changed my coil mats very early when I got my VW. No brand wan, was at a shop then the taukeh ask if I wanted the coil mats so I changed it straight away at the time. Didn't even compare pricing so I wasn't sure that I got ripped off or not. Paid RM160 for 4 mats for the Golf.

ARE U SERIUS 110K?
*
Not confirmed, until official pricing is released, everything here is pure either insider info, rumours or just hearsay.

My trip to Penang and back to KL, used up 1.5 tank of petrol (that is about 3/4 of a full tank each way ).
At average speed of 110-120km/h.
Yeah...drove at normal speed coz just reached 1000km before the start of the journey.

Approx 850kms++ round trip, i think...did not really do any detailed observation, so not 100% sure.
This roughly translates to 566kms per full tank, but on highway 90% of time...

So, this means FC is good? coz my FD1 get more..

Maybe the engine is still new?

So, the FC, to me so so nia. My FD1 gets more mileage for outstation drive.

Hmm, are you the type that drives slowly the first 1000km?

Did anyone here try this before? http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

wow, good la man

my previous tank was racing, only managed 450 with 1 bar to go

my last tank was 97, 470 with 2 more bars to go, i suppose 97 works better with my car

the best part is, when i was on 95 last time, although acceleration is low ya, but i can clock more than 530 with 2 bar to go

funny le...

all these, are based on the needle going bottom? as in after the 'ding' 2 more slot to go?

as for me, 138 ringgit on 97 = 470km. that's with 2 more slot and before that 'ding' sound and light comes up.

only city driving, but loads of mex and kesas driving during office hours.

cheers

The moment it dings tongue.gif

Anyway... my car is about 2 month, and already hitting 3000++ mileage tongue.gif Running the car hard occasionally and after reading to this -> http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm , it does make sense !

First 4 rounds of RON97 - and then move to RON95. Lets see... my usual start off the traffic is always tortoise.... COZ THE ROAD IS ALWAYS JAM IN KL/PJ! No need to hurry tongue.gif

I'm actually impress with the FC:power ratio biggrin.gif Not a guzzler from my previous car experience....

but you always hear people say "new car must not accelerate hard" so which is true? hmmm

Ok man, guess mine is still quite normal. I've now changed my driving style a bit and less tekan. Trying to achieve 480km now in my current tank. If I do 70% highway, I can achieve 500-520 easily la..

psttt...stage 1 can go tekan and get 550k

1st 1000km, average between 90-110km/h. Of coz, I had to try very very hard conciously not to exceed 110km/h.

i drove the 1.4tsi and passat using ron95. no issue at all.
but the passat felt heavy and i had to press the accelerator pedal hard most of the time to get it moving but less so when using ron97.

FC for passat was horrendously high though. But generally no issue with ron 95.

My fren's MK6 GTI using ron 95 without problem also.

So, what is the problem with ron 95 that u heard about?

Nola..

You get same HP.. as the HP rated in the car is based on optimum fuel. Just that if you use Ron95 you lose about 1% HP for every octane dropped.

I think the Golf's engine is tuned to RON98 fuel. When using RON95 the ECU will adjust and compensate accordingly. Performance will be slightly affected.

ppl dyno with ron 95 only get 19x hp..
i dyno'ed with ron 97 i got 205 hp

the rated ofcourse is optimum fuel but when we pump our ron 95 petrols here confirm we wont get 210 hp ( for GTI )

and for the run in business i dont that its put into effect on newer cars nowadays...
my frens FD2 also 1st day whack federal 204 km/h hahaha

as i know the golf engine has already run in 5k KM b4 even put inside the car or something like that... ( read it somewhere forgot where already )

so u 1st day get ur car u whack 200 km/h also no problem..
the thing that u need to run in is ur brakes...

i also confirmed with SC he said no need to run in..
but dont whack so kao because u need to get used to the power 1st of the new car...
tat is why alot of ppl crash there GTI on the 1st few days due to not knowing the cars potential..

the 1st day i got my car i already whack it kao kao as many of my frens at yam cha session say wanna sit my car n test power..
