QUOTE they are in the same package not on the same die. i was referring to the westmere. the westmere put 2 different silicon onto the same cpu package under 1 heat spreader. one for the cpu and one for the gpu. in sandy bridge theres only one silicon consist of both cpu and gpu on the same silicon die. |

OIC..found an interesting article discuss on the CPU/GPU communication path..http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/p/56168/402191.aspx In summary,Intel has more advance connection path but sucky GPU, in contrast, AMD has an inferior/less effective CPU/GPU interconnection system but backup by a powerful GPU (which means that AMD's current design could not fully unleash its integrated GPU power) This post has been edited by siaokialeong: Jul 11 2011, 02:23 AM |

i guess the intel's one uses more power just for the connection path. they also need large amount of L3 to store data.
well to me, the amd is easier and cheaper to implement |

fuuu... 1899 oni
intel will butthurt i term or pricing. even i3 sb is 1999 Malaysia acer is always the first. intel win on cpu speed but will lose on gaming, multimedia and battery life. i would love to have an 11" version of a6 llano.really gamer dream come true.imagine playing sc2 on medium for 2-3 hour on battery. |

PCI Express X16 2.0 only have 8GB/s bandwidth each direction (16GB/s total) which means it much less than 29.8GB/s using 1.86GHz DDR3 on Llano. Its not a matter of link speed, it's a matter of GPU power. |

For Llano a6, it's 4 physical cores.
Yeah that's a good idea. I used to do that. Then I realized I couldn't chase tech. |
