lols... llano in short and sweet:

Use older architecture CPU, integrate it with a real dedicated GPU, to produce= APU

An all rounder!
Their concept is... an all rounder. is better than a screaming processor+a snaillish gpu.......

Which i agree.....
It wont's win intel and nvidia's dominance in upper priced markets... but it will win in budget lines... bout 2k prices..

think the brazos equiped netbooks.. cheap and powerfull.... intel+nvidia ion cost a few hundred bucks more...

Added on July 8, 2011, 10:56 pm
crossfire... have to see some reviews(white mouse) to see whether AMD really nailed it.. or is it a huge dissapointment....

also the turbo core... have to see is it wrkin... anybody can google-fu latest developements?? last i read(few weeks ago), turbocore still buggy.. crossfire still buggy...

if they make it right ! HOOOLLLAAAHHHH!!! drool.gif  rclxm9.gif
*
I...I....still can't brain. Haha, don't know why these days my brain can't really work. Next two weeks start foundation in engineering, scared if my brain doesn't work LOL

So you mean the processor works with the dedicated gpu to produce APU? whats APU?

it's like intel core i series la... i5+hd3000 inside right???

amd also same..

just the Llano APU(actually just change name oli.... ), is 50% cpu 50% gpu....

while intel?? is kinda like 80%cpu 20%gpu...

see the diff?
*
The gpu that u say is onboard or dedicated?

QUOTE(AlexLai @ Jul 8 2011, 11:27 PM)
I know someone would do that sooner or later.  tongue.gif
An APU is short for Accelerated Processing Unit. Basically you have your processor, memory controller and graphics processor on the same chip.
*
If have all those on the same chip, what advantage does it offer?

I guess i have to google more about Llano....lol

AMD A6-A3400M (4 MB L2 cache, 1.40 GHz with Turbo CORE Technology up to 2.30 GHz, , 35 W) + AMD A60M Fusion™ Controller Hub

AMD Radeon™ HD 6720G2 with AMD Dynamic Switchable Graphic technology and AMD Radeon™ HD Dual Graphics Technology, with 1GB of DDR3 VRAM

So which one is the Processor, which one is the onboard gpu, which one is the dedicated gpu?

Processor = AMD A6-A3400M

Onboard gpu = ???????

Dedicated gpu = AMD Radeon™ HD 6720G2

someone correct me, haha

if you pair the A6 APU's 6520G graphics with a discrete 6650M you end up with 6720G2

ok i think i understand already. Thanks yah biggrin.gif

Can try its gaming performance? drool.gif

QUOTE(AlexLai @ Jul 9 2011, 12:35 PM)
Which probably means the 14" model would looks like a 4750G. wink.gif

Added on July 9, 2011, 12:36 pm

I can only imagine the power on those things.
Nono, Trinity is the next gen AMD CPU. What you have is Eyefinity.
*
Hope it looks like 4755G, I just saw it just now, 4755G design looks a bit similar to Acer 3820TG

Wait for the Asus version to come out first, I might sell off my A42JV for it. brows.gif
*
Just wondering, what is the resale value? I mean, how much are you going to sell away your A42JV?

I see a lot of people actually sell their old laptops (some even have really low specs with G210M and core 2 duo) at RM2000 and below.

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Jul 9 2011, 06:01 PM)
me too... or had wait for ivy... hehe..
for me ,yup nod.gif but wait other version came out 1st..
*
Ivy will have the same concept as AMD Llano?or better than Llano?

The resell value for mine is still quite okay. I can get back about RM1700 for it I guess. What a pity this isn't one of the most powerful 14" anymore. laugh.gif

Ivy Bridge still won't be able to beat Llano in terms of graphics I predict. And that isn't SLI, SLI only works with 2 of the same Nvidia GPUs.
"iinm" = "if I'm not mistaken"  nod.gif

22nm and 32nm are just die sizes. The smaller it is, the more efficient it becomes. Well that's the theory.
*
Thanks a lot for that. RM1700 is good. Sure people will bump into your Garage Sales thread selling your laptop next time.

I still don't get the meaning "die sizes"...

32nm - 22nm = 10nm  laugh.gif

Lol, I'm quite bad at internet abbreviations. Anyway, thanks...Have been seeing that "iinm" in /k/ a lot of times but dunno what it means

Hey guys.

I found out a way to combine my Nvidia Geforce GT540M and Intel HD 3000.

Getting constant 50 - 60 fps in Call of Duty Black Ops. Max settings. 1366x768. All other graphical settings are maxed out.

I'm using this tutorial.

Yeah, RM1700 is a good price. I think the price ceiling would be around RM1800-1900 only for my model. If I decide to sell it, I hope you guys come sarpork the thread biggrin.gif

The performance of the Radeon HD 6720G2 depends greatly on the driver support for the used games. In some games the performance may even degrade by 10-15% compared to using only the APU graphics card. Currently (June 2011) only DirectX 10 and 11 graphics modes are supported and therefore lower settings and older games are not accelerated. Due to the micro stuttering and performance problems, Dual Graphics may impose more problems than bring performance gains.

If Nvidia has this technology, plus good driver support, then its going to be a success

I'm still waiting for more benchmark and performance review of the dual graphics lol
