I decide to close the old thread "The Power of Fusion II - Llano" cause now there is real notebook that based on Llano CPU in Malaysia none other than Acer. Acer has got new model Aspire 5560G with SRP of RM1,899 that based on:

Second Llano notebook appears on ASUS Product Guide:- A43TA for RM1,799. Almost same spec yet difference below:-

+ A70M with USB3.0 port (Aspire 5560G comes with USB2.0 ports only)
+ 2-year Global warranty

- 14" LCD (alomost 2" smaller than 15.6")
- Thus no numpad on the keyboard
- 2GB RAM only
- VGA camera (compared to HD camera)
- Still Bluetooth 2.1 ?

Can someone summarize whats special about Llano? It has the same processing power as Intel SB quad but cheaper? is it? haha, i read about Llano but can't brain anything

I heard Astria sifu said in one post that crossfire in upcoming Llano laptops can reach gtx460m level...but not sure lol

the Asynchronous crossfire allow the internal GPU to work together with discrete GPU.... the A8+AMD 6630 can potentially beat gtx460m in some game

this model only has A6(6430M)+6480G... but its give some indication on pricing for A8+6630M... ^^

lols... llano in short and sweet:

Use older architecture CPU, integrate it with a real dedicated GPU, to produce= APU

An all rounder!


Their concept is... an all rounder. is better than a screaming processor+a snaillish gpu.......

Which i agree.....



It wont's win intel and nvidia's dominance in upper priced markets... but it will win in budget lines... bout 2k prices..

think the brazos equiped netbooks.. cheap and powerfull.... intel+nvidia ion cost a few hundred bucks more...

crossfire... have to see some reviews(white mouse) to see whether AMD really nailed it.. or is it a huge dissapointment....

also the turbo core... have to see is it wrkin... anybody can google-fu latest developements?? last i read(few weeks ago), turbocore still buggy.. crossfire still buggy...

Actually in real world usage, a 2GHz and 3GHz processor would have very little impact on how fast you actually perceive the system being.

Now only waiting for Asus to come out with one of their own. tongue.gif
