Anyone watched Oriol in Under-20 WC? How is he like?

Backup for Mikel I guess? Btw, is Oriol included in the limit for foreign players?

He is really good. Really enjoy watching him in action. Really cool, ball winner and the most important things his vision, passing really superb.

I think it's time to get all the play marker saga to an end. That's all, Oriol Romeu.(Hard to remember the name tongue.gif)

Time to get some wingers AVB! 1 or two wide men please!

Added on August 5, 2011, 8:42 amthe buy back clause doesnt really matter actually, its still a good business, if they want him back they will have to fork out another 5mil. kaching kaching.

It's quite a bum deal actually. We're essentially taking him on loan at a cost of 5 million. And when he turns good, Barca buy him back at 10 or 15 million. Assuming they buy him back after one year, they would only have spent 5 million (offset by the initial fee paid by Chelsea).

What's 5 million to Chelsea? I'd rather have the player than the few pesos they'd be throwing back at us for developing him.

And why is it that only Barca are implementing these clauses? Arsenal should have a buyback clause for Fabregas just to get back at Barca, haha.

well, he might want to leave, but it doesn't mean we'll going short for options. but, Josh & this Romeo wub.gif guy can build a strong partnership in midfield for the future.

If he had the chance to replace Busquets, I think he would.

He's their youth academy product after all. I don't think his ties to Chelsea would be that strong that he'd turn his back on Barca. Maybe they even made a deal with him - play well and we buy you back.

The only difference with Fabregas is that Chelsea won't have a say in the matter.

Base on what written, the buy back clause is only for 2 years. If BARCA didnt activate the clause within 2 years, on 3rd years there will be no such clause anymore.

if this guy want to go back within 2 years he must perform like hell so positive side for us...but it will be hard..with rising Tiago and Fabregas rumors to return...Barca midfielder wont have any vacancy for at least 5 years...

John Chapman: Not certain that Lulaku will join #cfc today but this is most important meeting so far: Anderlect, Chelsea officials and agent in one room.

I say the clause is good. I don't want another Fabregas case for us in the future. Next time if he wants to go ( hope not), then he will go, not drag the whole issue.

barcelona will never have a shortage of midfielders. it seems that they're experts at developing them and this means there will always be tons of competition ahead of him, and this is good for us. it has to be said though, at 6 ft 1 inch, he's not your average barca midfielder and i for one don't believe the catalans will have a need for him within two years. its the fancy, flamboyant playmaking ones they usually make a big fuss over, such as fabregas, alacantra and iniesta tongue.gif i'm just enjoying the moment, and bearing in mind essien is still in the team.

when you put it that way, it does seem a lot easier to 'sort things out' if it ever comes to that (hopefully it doesn't). whatever happens, we stand to make a small profit instead of losing players for 'peanuts' as we so often do and i'm fine with that.

ahh thanks for the glowing review! sounds a bit like alonso..heheheh

wow...lukaku on the verge of signing, and yuri on the verge of leaving....things are suddenly happening so quickly!

read this interview guys. this kid has a BRILLIANT attitude, and i'm already totally sold on the idea of him signing for us. this is the type of character we want within our squad, which is so damn rare nowadays especially among young players. i say, get him in!

Lukaku ready for Chelsea
