done reset bios. cannot find the reset cmos button at first, lol. very small button at the back .
after reset cmos, still, only 2 cores enable. at bios, it shows all 4 cores enable.
but the vcore suddenly drop until 1.26V++, before this 1.37v all the time at stock clock


even cannot run vantage. help me guys...

forgot oredy.. following some step from net to optimize the setting to run the bench.
but i think cannot find the setting regarding to core i think..
now switching to another HDD, voila. 4core oredy.


so previous windows on other SSD is corrupted or the cores has been disable through windows?

ok let start over. this is my setup

proc : phenom II X4 945 3.0Ghz C3
mobo : MSi 990FXA GD65 with latest bios V19.6
ram : winova 1600CL11 (2GbX2)
psu : ST56F 560W

this is my attempt to find the max HTT a.k.a FSB. i only manage to get 320 and successfully boot into windows.
330 cannot boot into windows, got warning that OC setting is not stable, something like that


during finding this max HTT, i set the cpu-nb and HT link to lower than stock value.
ram was set to ddr800 at CL6 @1.61Vdimm

when i try to set 330 HTT (330X9=2970Mhz), it cannot boot into windows. so i try to increase the vdimm
and set the timing to auto but still got warning at post screen. so i try to increase the vcore a bit until 1.39V
(i guess this is high enough for 2.97Ghz)

so isit consider 320 is the max HTT? help me guys. i'll post other attempt for my cpu-nb and ram

the reason i'm planning to take 960T is because i saw this 960T can clock higher than previous phenom II Deneb X4
i dun care the unlock core. i only want he lower vcore and the higher OCable. if change to 960T X4/ 1XXXT X6
is the best way than change mobo, i'll proceed to change the proc

this is my first time joining OC competition. before this i only learn geli2 OC for daily use, low ram, low cpu-nb (2300Mhz)
and below 3.7Ghz proc clock. thats why i really need advice from otai here. i still wanna try if there is a way
i dun want to give up now. oredy got some item that borrow from fren (ram, hdd, mobo)

i thought NB volt and HT volt no need to increase since i'm using stock/ below stock speed..
HT link always set below than 2000Mhz.

btw, this is my attempt for the CPU-NB speed


ram divider set at ddr800 with auto timing,
proc multi set to X11.
HT link set to below 2000Mhz

increase step by step the HTT. everytime boot into windows, i try to run SuperPi 8M.
if unstable/ got issue during running SuperPi (no exact round, no convergent), i try
to pump more voltage for the CPU-NB. this method work until reach 2800MHz
the voltage for the cpu-nb goes from 1.266V-1.318V
at speed 2700Mhz, 1.255V cpu-nb still can run SuperPi 8M

at 2800Mhz of cpu-nb, when i pump the voltage until 1.318V cpu-nb oso cannot run SuperPi 8M
only can run SuperPi 1M.

at 2800Mhz cpu-nb, what is the voltage from other board?

i put 2X120mm (100cfm fan) blow into the mosfet heatsink and the ram - flow direct into the NB heatsink

using winova Xtune 2gbx2 1600


i want to find the ram limit at low timing and CL7
only manage to run CL6 at low speed, 1400 with 1.68vdimm

at 1600Mhz, able to run with CL7 at 1.605vdimm (slightly higher then bro ah_khoo review)


at 1700, CL7-7-7 cannot run SuperPi, so i looser the timing a bit
1700 CL7-8-8 need a 1.663Vdimm to run SuperPi 8M


1752 CL7-8-8 need a 1.699Vdimm


at 1800 7-8-8, cannot run any superPi.
voltage pump until 1.73vdimm oredy. for the time being, i think its good edy if can run 1600-1700 at CL8.

objective : to find the limit of this ram speed at low Cas Latency (CL)
all other clock (proc, cpu-nb, HT link) running at lower speed.
i set the ram at 1600 CL 7-7-7 @1.56Vdimm-1.656Vdimm, it won't boot
got warning at post screen

i'm tired of waiting due to slow boot from this mobo.
after many try and error, adding voltage, loose the timing, i only can boot into windows
at 1600 CL8-8-8 @ 1.656Vdimm. CL7-8-7,7-9-7 cannot boot even at 1.69vdimm

at 1800 CL9, it wont boot at all after pushing some vdimm.
this module used to work perfect on intel rig (my friends rig, i borrowed this module from him)
(SB i5K + asrock Z68 Fatal1ty) running at 2133 CL9-11-9 @1.65Vdimm


maybe this ram not compatible with my setup. the other one is KHX Genesis 2133C10



this ram behavior is almost the same as KHX T1.
for my AMD setup, the winova 2GbX2 perform better, can set 1600 CL7-7-7 at 1.605Vdimm.
both KHX cannot even boot at CL7 @1.656Vdimm. since they cannot boot at CL7 (1600Mhz),
so i think i'll stick to winova. cannot afford too buy PSC/ BBSE stick module..

the only problem i have so far, i think my proc is not a good chip. i'm gonna hunt a thuban or zosma core
the limit and score for the proc (Deneb 945) almost similar from this MSi 990FXA GD65
and my previous mobo Asus M4A87TD/USB3

wish i can get any 96X BE or 960T

oredy found the problem. its my cpu, this deneb 945 is cacat one. 3.3Ghz oredy need to pump vcore until 1.42-1.45V.
i have tried thuban X6, and i was amazed with the low vcore, high cpu-nb clock, high speed ram etc2. just the score is the matter now.
need to learn more tweaking thingy. my 945 deneb cannot increase the cpu-nb, i need to push high HTT to puch the cpu-nb speed.

and yeah, in some setting (certain speed ram at certain timing at certain HTT and CPU-NB speed) i get better score. oredy found this long time.
just in my case, i didn't know that BE and thuban has unlock cpu-nb, and has a low vcore. thats all my problem actually.
so now oredy know this deneb is cacat, so i wanna find other proc. if can get 960T is good edy. cannot afford thuban at the moment

and yup, last time OC need to set the jumper
have seen before, my fren demo to me keep poison me but i only start learning OC during pentium 4 prescott, my 1st rig

i dun need to wait for PD. this is 1st time joining OC competition, so why not i invest sikit. if i lost, still i've learnt so many thing
before this, i oredy owned many from X2 proc. i owned from X2 G1, G2 (BE and non BE), F2, F3 because of i wanna learn more about OC.
i still learn OC now because its fun, not because its just fast or whatsoever. i love to test them

at 1st i'm planning to take 7870, but then the OC competition turned me on
so cancel the GC, hunting for the proc + good mobo

how good is good? 4.2Ghz @ 1.45vcore is good or not? i dun dare to push more than 1.48V for the vcore
at the moment since its still new in my hand i've tried 4.3Ghz @ 1.46vcore with 40+ 'C load
i dun know bug or what since my deneb 3.5Ghz @ 1.39vcore oredy 55+'C during load...

wow winova 2gb stick perform better with thuban core (zosma 960T)
2100 CL9-9-9 @ 1.648Vdimm is quite good to me. will stress them tomorrow.
maybe 1.648vdimm not enough to run at that speed...

but still i have a hard time to achieve lower than 3M 37s for the superPi 8M
only can achieve sub 34-27s if push more on the core clock
