hahahaha .. u also using the same processor with me  rclxms.gif

the mobo i just bought for few week impossible i need to change a new one unless zhen^wei let me exchange product  tongue.gif but i don't think so he will let me change another mobo  rclxub.gif
*
just go to the link i give you, no need to find new one since RMA unit (replacement) also consider as new one.
none of the seller will let you change/ swap/ trade mobo

this is really f*** ..  i need to reset my bios again when i try to unlock to 6 core..

omg!! I have a bad impression toward gigabyte mobo now ..
*
it either the chip itself, not the brand. wanna try other mobo? i have 3 with me right now :
Sabertooth R2.0, 990FXA GD80, Crosshair V Formula. just come to my place,
bring your processor, mobo and hdd <-- hdd and mobo : incase i need to see your bios and try out hmm.gif

of course all these boards were not in the same league with your board. i don't have any high-end gaygay board

*take note that my 960T also cannot be unlocked now, but can be unlocked to 6 core when newly bought

Hi all, im a newbie in OCing and I have zero knowledge about Ocing.. Ive read the pinned guides but there are no prior intro to overclocking and such.. Like its jumped up to the
AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE
M4A77TD Pro Motherboard
4GB Kingston 1333Mhz x 2
Hyper 212+ Heatsink
2TB Hdisk WD Green
Sapphire HD 6870 Graphic Card
Cooler Master 500W Power Supply (Stock from Elite casing)
Cooler Master Storm Scout II
*
i'd strongly suggest you to OC through bios
to OC processor, you can increase the HTT clock or just simply increase the cpu multiplier

OC using HTT a bit tricky which you need to lower the ram speed, cpu-nb speed and HT link
when you increase the HTT (some mobo called BCLK, FSB, bus speed), other element such as ram speed,
cpu-nb speed and HT link speed will increase too. for 1st timer, i'd suggest to OC by increasing the
cpu multiplier

to OC ram, this processor can support up to 1600. try change the ram divider from 1333-->1600 from your bios.
btw, you need to fid the limit for 1 element at 1 time. example : OC cpu 1st, set the others to lower than stock clock

you can start with cpu 1st. good luck rclxms.gif

Is it ok to try and error? Coz im scared the Processor will burst into flames or something..
....

Few questions:

1. How do I know if my computer is stable or not after setting the CPU multiplier (the first step to OCing, based on the discussions of the few pages before)
2. What does CPU-Z do? Is it mandatory?
3. So eg if I start multiplying by 0.5x per time, I have to exit BIOS, and save settings? No need to log in Windows and do stress test? And then keep doing 0.5x until bluescreen happen?
4. Does bluescreen happenning means its unstable? Or I have to use software to test it?
5. Whats the advantage of reducing V-core? I read a few pages before some people are reducing the V-core for stock multipliers
*
we always do try and error, but most important is we must know what we are doing nod.gif
we need to know what is the max safe voltage or max temperature

very good question rclxms.gif
1. run stability test, example prime95. the best if run custom prime

2. cpuz - shows our hardware such as ram speed, XMP ram, cpu, motherboard (with bios version)

3. save setting, log in windows, if no crash or BSOD (blue screen), restart-->increase multiplier by 0.5-->boot again.
until crash, then should pump the vcore 1 step. at that point, at least we know at what clock we start to pump the vcore

4. BSOD - not stable, related to imc, vcore etc2

5. reducing vcore - to get lower temperature, thats all.

4 minutes test is a bit too short.. try testing longer at least 1 hour.  hmm.gif

like pokder cloudwan said, even some people suggest to run at least 3 hours.
but with custom prime, i only run 1 hour

which way you OC it. by increase the cpu multiplier or the HTT a.k.a BCLK a.k.a FSB?
provide SS of CPUZ as well. open 4 cpuz, open for cpu, mobo, ram speed and SPD tab

hey with ,my rig , whats the safest i can OC it ? my mobo can be found in my selling thread . Thanks .
*
no such the safest-for-OC term. the best is keep the temp as low as possible.
i'm not sure what is max temp for FX series. but i'll keep em below 60'C at full load

*after googling around, i think your mobo can do light OC only...
but don't worry, you try first then post here to let us know the result notworthy.gif

QUOTE(raydenex @ Mar 30 2013, 06:04 AM)
Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster in this thread. Built a new rig roughly 2 weeks back, with the intention to eventually OC it. An FX8350, Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 motherboard, G.Skill RAM as per my signature and the CM Seidon 120M liquid kit. Attached below are 2 screenshots of HWmonitor showing my temps, first image shows idle on CPU temps and second image shows under load temps (Prime95 running).

My question is, are they normal for an 8350? Especially a liquid-cool 8350. This is in a non-air conditioned room. I want to confirm this before OC'ing. Also, should I be looking at the temperatures under the ASUSTeK->Temperatures->CPU area/category, or the other one at AMD FX-8350->Temperatures->Package ?
Many thanks in advance. Cheers.
*
i'd suggest to look at ASUSTeK->Temperatures->CPU
but... looks like so hot there... shocking.gif
load or idle? if under load condition then its normal

Hai People. noob here  tongue.gif
I Been oc my 1100t. 3.2 to 3.9..my temp would be less than 55.
my ram already lowerclock from 1600 to 12++.
my psu would be 550 80+ bronze. my gpu would be gtx 260.
can anyone tell me how to push more?? drool.gif

btw everything is in stock cooler XD
*
no need to downclock the ram. try OC the ram. 1900-2000Mhz for the ram should be
sweet spot for thuban core (phenom X6). what ram do you use. 1100T @3.9Ghz should be nice.
good job bro thumbup.gif

how??I plan to get like 4.2 or 4.3 smthng like that smile.gif hehehe tongue.gif
*
try 4.0 1st, as 4.2-4.3 need too much vcore
just use ram divider 1st, 1600-1866 for the ram.

btw don't forget to attach SS here for the cpu, memory, SPD and mobo if possible nod.gif

I put the CPU bus frequency increase and the ram frequency also increase to 2+++.
my ram not even support till that, so i hav to downclock it.  smile.gif
*
wow, even higher is better bro thumbup.gif
how do you know that you ram can't be pushed above 2000mhz?
and how do you downclock the ram? if you increase the fsb a.k.a htt,
i guess you are using ram divider from 1600-->1333-->1066
because if you OC your cpu using cpu multiplier, only the cpu speed will increase
others (memory, cpu-nb clock, HT link) will remain at stock clock

try to play with memory OC bro, it will be more fun they said icon_idea.gif
btw, at 2000Mhz + bootable or not?
attach your cpuz here like this boss nod.gif
open 4 cpuz ; cpu, motherboard, memory, SPD
**sorry for using intel rig right now sweat.gif

htt down clock mebe?  hmm.gif

Sir, according to his reply above, he increase the bus speed a.k.a HTT,
so i guess he use divider to run the memory at lower speed... hmm.gif

need your guide here Sir notworthy.gif

guess what??Im on9 with this now XD
Cpu Ratio : 16.5
Cpu freq : 242
and look at temp XD
[attachmentid=3393645]
*
Attached Image
from attachment
core speed (CPU Clock Speed) = 4023.2Mhz <--stock 3.3Ghz, can go up to 4.0-4.2Ghz air/water cooling
Multiplier (CPU Multiplier) = *16.5 <--stock multiplier for 1100T, can go up to 20-21 with proper cooling system
Bus speed (HTT) = 243.8Mhz <--stock clock is 200Mhz, can go up to 250-300Mhz depends on mobo
HT Link (HT Link Speed) = 2194.5Mhz <--stock is 2000Mhz, let it stay at stock or near stock clock
NB Freq (CPU-NB freq) = 2194.3Mhz <--stock is 2000Mhz, can go up to 2600-2800Mhz

from you SS, you are OCing your CPU by increasing the FSB a.k.a HTT.
i'd suggest you to OC by increase the CPU multiplier (*16.5->*17.0->*17.5....)
if you are aiming for 4.0ghz +, it should run by (HTT*cpu multiplier) = (200*20.0)

by increasing the cpu multiplier, you don/t have to worry about you ram speed increase as others
(ram speed, cpu-nb freq and HT link) will remain at stock clock while only the cpu speed will increase

apart of CPU multiplier, you can also increase the CPU-NB freq by increase the CPU-NB multiplier
ram part, just simply change the divider from 1333-->1600-->1866-->2133.
ram speed was depends on ram capability, can go up to 2100Mhz + for AMD thuban core iinm hmm.gif
some good ram that rated 1600 can go up to 2000Mhz with CL9 @1.65V with no problem

poison keep coming.
try cpu multiplier 1st. good luck bro rclxms.gif

i agree with master cloudwan also. ony certain HyperX T1 is good. others sux
i would go for gskill or ballistix

agreed with master cloudwan, i wont go for MSI GD65 as well, ASUS M5A97 PRO/EVO would be a better choice, at least for me.  smile.gif

i thought master khoo want to suggest GD80.. my bad then.. indeed EVO is a good OC mobo for budget.
