Anyone knows best ways to kill a tree?
This big tree is right in front facing my gate.
Another tree affected my neighbor as well.
He is there for quite some time, affected him in terms
of financial n families matter.
Feng shui master said the same....arggh.
I need it to be removed b4 I move in..

Pour diesel or less destructive/pollutive way is by removing the bark.

actually, i have a big tree infront of my house also. Not sure whether it is blocking my feng sui but i nd to sweep the floor everyday.

When i bought house, i also ensure no trees or lamp post locate direct facing my gate from opposite. This is also advice by my feng shui master and my parents. Somehow it is up to individual believes.

What makes you think that you have the right to kill a tree that is not planted on your own property?
If I'm not mistaken, the tree should belongs to the city council. You are probably breaking a law bu killing it.
The tree is providing coolness to the houses near it, and you want to remove it because some BS Feng Shui master said so.
What if you opposite neighbour got some advice from some other BS Feng Shui master that your house is focusing bad chi to him? Can he burn down your house?

What if you are the house owner every day open the main door see big tree trunk?

And yes, is illegal to kill the tree outside. Can only trim the tree if the leaf and trunk go inside the house. House owner can also complain to the city council that the tree root are damaging the drain and drive way of the house. They will come and cut it down. But take ages.

My friend complain to the city council for so many times and months. And still no action. It damage the water pipe, and drain.

It is affected when only it is directly facing your main door.

But in the case of TS, it's for Feng Shui, thus not valid.
And the tree is not even on his side of the house, it's on the opposing side of the house.

If he doesn't like the tree, shouldn't have bought the place. Pretty thick to be listening to a Wind Water Master anyway.

If the tree is a great concern to you, you should not have bought the house in the first place.
Well, if you really want to remove the tree, then just get Alam Flora to cut it down.
Don't go for the "slow slow" method as suggested by some. Just imagine someone doing that to you..

when somebody ask for a feng shui master, most probably he is facing some problem n hoping for a solution, n tree is the easy target to blame.
If want good feng shui, better don't stay at terrace house cause door facing door opposite the road also bad feng shui too. that's why some people put mirror or "bagua" in front of the main door, hoping to "reflect" the "qi".

As for Feng Shui, it is depend on individual as beleive it or not. Just like one of the master indicated, you believe than it be there, else just process as you go. Each ZFeng Shui have they own explaination, so who you will trust?
Example: If the main door not right, will you remove the door and redo? What if the toilet are below your main door, will you remove it / close it or ignore it...

How big is the tree? Higher than your roof?
Slow kill is not an option, as this will impacting and dangeriou to other because you didn't know where and when it will fall under, and may hit someone. Just imagig if it fall down and which direction it will go, will it hit roof, door, car or people???

Pay someone and cut it short or as subjected complain to Bandaraya and get it official cut.

My house had the same problem last time. We did a complain to the local council and they sent people to chop it off. Quite nicely done. But if you are into feng sui, etc, becareful of the trees that you are chopping. They say it's not good as trees have soul, especially old ones.

There's actually a by-law which state u could be fined for damaging Majlis property. In this case - the tree (assuming it's planted by developer & subsequently handed over to Majlis).

But whether it's enforce strictly is .......... (a big question mark)

Just call the authorities in and have them access the danger of the big tree in front of house la. If it is dangerous, they will chop it off. Neighbor cannot blame you. So maintain good relationship

I've seen newspaper ad some ppl they cut down trees, so maybe u can give them a call, seek their advise. I do believe u need a license to do that, since it is outside the compound of ur house.

If u're doing something about it..just make sure to pray or something, coz i got a friend chop off tree at the backyard, then it seems like the 'ghost' of the tree move into their house. After chopping down the tree, can hear noises in the bathroom. Ended up the children scared like crazy they had to hire somebody to 'rid the spirit'. Ended up, they plant small tree ganti balik the big tree..

there is a tree behind my house, if there is lightning strike or if dbkl wants to cut off the tree or if there is a big wind or rain, it may fall onto my roof and destroy my roof.

that's exactly what i was thinking bro! its 2011 and there are still people who believe all the Feng Shui BS! Its a big con to get people to part way with their hard earn money. Some so called Feng Shui "master" actually work hand in hand with contractors, so their advice will usually involve some sort of renovation.

My advice to TS is to work hard,save money and leave the tree alone.

If you believe in feng shui, and if it doesn't effect other people, then go ahead and do what you want, as long as its in the vicinity of your property. But if in TS case, he wants to cut down a tree which is not on his property, and he has no right to do that.

some don't like the gate in-line with your main door (some even in-line with back door) facing the road. So this can be one possible option.

Feng Shui is a study about harmony living environment. You dont place your dining table directly facing toilet door or sleep facing a big mirror, that's simple Feng Shui. There are people who want to change Feng Shui to get rich but that's not the actual objective of feng shui.

Say your door facing my window and I always hang my red underwear on my window everyday, you will see it every time you pass your main door. If your emotional are totally unaffected then feng shui is not for you, I guess some people just like red underwear and they can live in harmony with it.

Not all tress are bad but there are type of unwelcome trees just like the red underwear, it is ok to wear it inside (those trees plant at other places) but dont place it right infront of the door.

I guess those not believe in FS, can rest the case and not keep complaint those that believe in FS by giving example from the mars...myself used to be a non believe in FS but now myself that into it which previously used to complaint my mother this and that.

I started believe feng shui when my first time to watch my Aura colour and bought crystal to change my life. The crystal I wore till now(7 years). Hence, my career opportunity knock to my door slowly..hence, slowly I follow some FS master as such Lilian too. And I slowly learn from my mother (she follow master soo)..

Slowly years by years, my life had changed a lot. Get into relationship and married this year. My career growth in term of financially and me venture into biz. My relatiobship with parents did improved throughout the years..FS had changed my attitude..
Even this year FS said I had to lie low, all my biz plan venture did on hold..

My wife sister in law which a non believe in FS or any buddhist, now he is praying Guan yin @ his home which nicely build..he move in house without do anything and thanks to his non believe in FS, indeed sad to say a lot bad thing happen to my wife sister, abortion 3 times, cut her hand few times, himself admit hospital...finally all this happen, only he start to call FS and the quan yin nicely place @ his house...

Everyone is definitely entitled to their own beliefs. But I believe that in the pursue of our own beliefs, we should not enforce it beyond our own boundary; i.e. cutting down a neighbour’s tree.
