how is the R60 screen for watching DVD?

And how is the viewing angle? wud it be ok for 2 people to watch DVD side by side? Or must u be right in the middle of the screen to enjoy DVD?

yes, i did... have been using thinkpad for years but they are company property. this r60 is my first thinkpad for my own. my company got fujitsu, dell, toshiba.... using them all but still the vote goes to thinkpad. no question ask.

how can u put a thinkpad to a v3010 side by side for comparison anyway? they are not on the same level. 

Use both the trackpoint and the touchpad la... IBM has so nicely given us both I find myself using different muscles for both pointing devices so when I feel a bit tired I just switch, hehehe....

Still prefer a mouse when I have the space though.

Notice for first time R60 user :
1. When upgrading RAM, never use force to pull the armrest out, shake it left and right to loosen it from the front latch. You can also use your finger nail. Slide your finger nail between the gaps starting from one side to the other.
2. MUST install "Rescue and Recovery", if your unit is the MS-DOS version. You won't want to download/reinstall drivers/applications all over again (unless your office connection is superfast).
3. When there is a power source, best use your ThinkPad without battery. Just plug adapter to notebook (have the battery remove first) connect to power source , switch it on, viola, you are good to go. I do this to increase battery lifespan (don't want to strain it from constant charging). I use battery only when there's no power source.
4. Don't eat AMW Ramadan promotion, it's disgusting. Kidding, you can ignore this.

Hey got a question to ask. I have installed CPU Z and my R60 is always running at 997++ Mhz in "Maximum Peformance" configuration.

Is this the peak performance of R60 only at 997Mhz, I thought it's suppose to go all the way up to 1.66 Ghz?

Or am I missing out some settings?

Or is this how core duo behaves?

3. unknown device - it's known as thinkpad pm device, u'll found 1 unknown device after installing all the drivers above, so far i'm using microsoft auto online updating function to find this driver, i'm ONLY able to install after i updating all the microsoft hotfix

wah...so lucky u are....my battery can last for 3 hr ++ with WLAN enabled etc.....don't know why leh?! is there any method to take care or prolong the battery life ar?

yes, i follow exactly the same step and it told me unable to search for driver....      pening la!!! 

I did install the power manager utility...thanks to wtm0325 recommends!!!now my battery life can last for 5 hours++ max ....hohoho...

hey...I just found out that my screen has few deadpixel...what can I do about it?!??

well, since you already have the thinkpad utilities installed on your lappy, wouldnt double effort to run NHC as well?

Got that installed too, but find out that the power management thingy is overlapping my thinkpad's one... so got it uninstalled.

just brought 2 unit of Corsair 512MB ddr2 667MHz ram. When i plug in both ram, my r60 failed to power on.

i will only power on when i mix 1 unit of corsair with my existing kingston 256MB 667MHz ram or just by 1 corsair itself.

wonder why i cant power on with both corsair ram?
