1 day+ on moderate usage, 2day+ on light usage (from your picture, that is light usage & CM7 does last longer then stock from what i've tried earlier)

So far don't know any alternative, other then flash to get the root, so far this works

What type of problem? taking very long time to lock?

Did you fix your ntp to asia region instead of europe? & gpsfix to get 1st lock?

To get your ntp to right region, use fasterfix & for gps 1st lock - use gpsfix, after that should be ok. Give it a try

Did you calibrate you battery after flashing? How long do you manage to get it to run on full charge?

Depends on your queue, mine was in 45min - 1 hrs (because i waited for him to fix phone & flash with latest update)

NVFlash is for use on Windows PCs.

Excellent details on how to set up NVFlash are available in this topic (thanks jmcnz), but in a nutshell the process is:
Download the ROM file below
Download the driver file below
Turn device off, remove battery, plug device in while holding volume up and down - screen will stay black but Windows will add a new 'APX' devices
Install drivers extracted from driver file download
Run 'flash.bat' from ROM file download
Wait for flash to complete and device to reboot

Mind share with us what are you trying to achieve by nvflash? Getting the set back to stock for warranty? Depends on what you're trying to achieve, we can share our experience & opinion with you

Here are some basic understanding
1. For those who have problem with the set and want to bring 'stock phone', use the nvflash link provided earlier, it will allow you to 'format' aka restore to stock in 'froyo' before you bring your phone back to service center for warranty

2. If you want to upgrade/update your phone to Gingerbread from froyo, there are few ways to do it. Easiest would be bring your phone to service center and ask them to do it for you

P/S: If you're wondering what is baseband & roms, think of it this way, your rom is like operating system used by your phone. Baseband is the channel they use (in this case, its the frequency) and to pair a correct baseband, they need the correct 'RIL'

Well, if you're trying out flashing custom firmware, you can refer to forum's like XDA too, its really full of informative stuffs (i learn alot from there too )

Oh, then its simple. To get access to root, you need to flash CWM (refer to link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327599)

Its already explain step by step make sure you install the driver, otherwise you can't detect the phone to flash

Yup superoneclick works for froyo but not in gingerbread at this point of time

Well there are some noticeable differences

1. Based on feedback from user (myself included) sound is clearer
2. According to some users, they manage to resolve the line drop issue when they flashed bb 725 when using GB (baseband 725 v20l)
3. Some users feedback that their battery drain improves with this bb

My feedback, if you're on gingerbread, BB 725 v20l solves alot of headache for battery drain & clearer if you're running stock but that also depends on telco. For my case, i'm using 2 different telco (maxis don't have problem at all but when i switch over to u-mobile, i have face some problem

1. Area where low coverage, it will keep switching 2G/3G and this 'DRAINED' your battery and often line drop (which for my case is common due to my place coverage for ALL TELCO except maxis (maxis i still manage to get 2-3 bar out of 4 & the rest either 1 bar or no bar )

2. BB 725 v20l is fast when i try to lock on satellite, (in papago, i get with 1-2 sec for BB725 but in same papago with bb 622 it takes longer, like 5 sec with a-gps?!!?)

Gingerbread don't work well unless you're running GB friendly baseband such as 725 (v20a-v20l) or 622 (v20a)

P/S : i was running with BB 725 v20L and its ok with exception for places where line is poor -battery drain & line drop happened alot . Now i flashed to BB 622 (v20a) for testing. So far coverage improved but quality of sound not as clear but its alot more stable (means my battery don't drain as much in those places)

Added on November 22, 2011, 8:42 amBro, you're running on baseband 725 v20L + compatible RIL right? Try to download getril and check your RIL, make sure your use the right one, i know if you use wrong one, your battery drain alot

FYI, GR5 from Paul is recommended to run on Baseband 725 (v20L) + compatible RIL. Another thing to lookout is freeze some of these apps
1. CarHome
2. On The Screen
3. Weather widget

You should be able to last at least 1day ++ with moderate usage (my term of moderate usage is using 3G + data + some videos, if 2G should be able to run around 2day)

in worst case of scenario, do you want to try out custom kernel? Try this combo

I'm trying out GB v20L stock with baseband 622 (v20a) - beta baseband for gingerbread v20a. So far i'm running on 3G only for 17hours 4min and battery is @ 60% and the one which drain most of the battery is on papago (was running around with GPS for calibration) with the Performance Pack 7 + HP 2X kernel

Added on November 22, 2011, 8:52 amok, this happened when you're downloading from website? or using the LG Updater? If from website, try open using internet explorer (and if case still have problem, try to change your dns to GOOGLE's dns or OpenDNS to see if this is cause by the telco routing)

If cause by LG updater, try the DNS change too and see if it resolve.

In worst case of scenario, uninstall your LG program and re-install, and after doing re-installation, make sure your click check update in the LG Suite to update to latest version.

Hmm probably, i've been updating the software for LG Suite, so far no issue, maybe i got lucky that i didn't resolve to the one having problem, what i know is sometimes i got problem resolving to load a website & i know the website is up (i'm using broadband to check and its up & running, but when using streamyx cannot load. But when i changed to either Google DNS or OpenDNS, bingo...its appear )

Please note that If you flash baseband 725, you need RIL that match 725 (v20L). For my case, i flashed baseband 622 for testing (i'm trying out lower quality of sound but stronger signal - i know because i experience the difference when i was using froyo BB 622 before flash over BB725), so i select the RIL '0622 Gingerbread leak' to match it.

Please refer to Smartflashhere for instruction to flash baseband and the files.

You can try flashing newer baseband to improve the quality of the sound, but please note, different user have different experience (in my case, the place where i am, the broadcasting signal is weak for all other telco except maxis, so if i only based on MAXIS, the experience is EXCELLENT, since i uses more then 1 telco, i can see the differences the baseband affect the signal drop which directly affects the battery (low signal area will cause your phone to keep switching between 2G which is stronger, but your phone preference normally set the higher speed as higher priority --> keep switching and drain more battery juice)

Well. People now are more into samsung either s2 or note. LG wont be attracting ppl with its reputation now unless they reallt buck up and deliver the new os aka ICS with hardware acceleration. JUST DELIVERING PLAIN ICS wont cut well customer since samsung are able to provide darn good stuff. Example samsung galaxy tab p1000 with have only single core 1Ghz are able to play fullhd video and LG 2x cant even do that?! Well im sure ppl reading feedback will affect potential customer in their upcoming purchase.

Oh for those who are bored with gingerbread can try out miui from galnet. I'm currently playing with galnets miui ics. Buggy but really good in battery and response. Just fc few times due to bugged keyboard (just released update via market new patch for fc and this version just plain vanilla with some h/w accelaration so dont expect much from beta

Bro, try to play a full hd and tell me if its running h/w and not software. I tried mine (1080P), and i'm not talking about avi file, its mp4 (download mx player, and play if the top right side show H/W means its running hardware rendering and if its show S/W then it means not supported. If you run avi, its actually using the processor to help decode and it it NOT hardware encoding support)

How to test whether it work via hardware rendering, go to google and download a program called youtube downloader. then open youtube and look for a video from youtube.

Copy the link and paste into youtube downloader to encode it as MP4. Make sure select the format encoded as HD 1080P and this will stream a full hd and saves it as FULLHD (expect huge filesize) which is FULLHD and then open the file in LG 2X to test.

Reason why i emphasis is because this way you can confirm whether they have the full encoding or partial. If you use 720p mp4, 2X will show H/W but if you put FULLHD then it show S/W fast encoding. This is NOT hardware (which suppose to use tegra processor to handle the video decoding)

IF your hardware support fullhd decoding, imagine your games is using actual processor + GPU (tegra) to handle it.

The new ICS is suppose to utilise the GPU to handle the rendering for all (i mean all include your interface effect, this will actually improve the overall performance + battery, instead of just pass the calculation to the Processor and then return the result to GPU tegra2 for display

P/S: Avi is actually raw format and it can be handled by the 2 processor, but if you really want to see performance, the GPU tegra2 suppose to be the one working side by side with the CPU.

Before i forget, MX Video Player 1.4a only start support LG 2X hardware decoding which for me. DARN its about time we have a proper player which unlock the hardware capability

Bro, if you plan to extend your battery like extra few hours, then ok, if you really want to enjoy your phone for few days, don't bother with those slim battery, go straight to mugen power 4500mah. 1980mah isn't going to bring you anywhere longer compared to stock (figure show 1500mah vs 1980mah should be alot right. well actually in practical usage, just few hours extra & FYI, the battery sensor for this is not working

Bro, the battery comes with sensors such as temperature sensor which can be access from your phone to tell you if you're battery is running normal or too hot. This battery sensor doesn't work, if you run your phone in door it show you x temperature and if you do the same in car under hot sun, it report the same thing too but you know its hotter when you touch it. That what i meant

Get this app call battery monitor widget from market. Free version cannot edit the mah for the battery where as the pro allow you to change them, what this app do is allow you to record the battery usage and you can use this to measure your battery capacity, usage, and etc. I got the pro edition to measure the batteries i bought from ebay and see how it perform. Give it a try and see when your phone drain most and see what is the cause.

For you info, the bottom button brightness can be tune down to utilise 100μA instead of default 2000μA. Look for Touch key light from market to try it out.

If you really want your phone to last, just switch to 2G network. Which network telco do you use ? maxis? digi ? celcom ? umobile?

I was talking to a friend of mine earlier, she was complaining her phone need to charge regularly as it cant last through 1 full day. I shown her how to switch to 2G and she's happy now as it can last her more than 1 day. 2G network can still access data as she uses whatsapps to receive msg, fb, tweeks . You can try it out (its better then getting the battery & FREE TOO
