1. Long waiting for update...
2. Auto reboot is so annoying...
3. I am still using the stock rom - v10e I don't know why some of the time my phone can't received sms or call.
4. Drain battery...

I bought it at RM1880...very disappointed.
*
Ikjune,

I think everyone here felt that too, waiting for update that fixes the problems & its taking forever. I too felt that too as i bought the phone when it was launch & LG promise gingerbread update soon for this phone and yes Original price was 1899 sweat.gif

How i go around the problem so i can use this phone without throwing it out (eeer, its 1.8 k item to throw? and vent your anger..... sweat.gif not a good idea so i searched for solutions around)

1. Long waiting for update...
I went around and tryout other custom roms, its nightmare at 1st, but as time goes by, alot improvement you can see & it started to look good on the phone as other users contribute solution to the phone & when you get one ROM which you like, the phone felt really good. Now the roms are more mature & stable, not as bad as the time i started. Give it a try and decide whether you want to sell off the phone after you try those roms. If you don't like it, restore your original rom & sell it off.

2. Auto reboot is so annoying...
This problem is contributed by the original charger which *somehow* overcharge the phone and screw it up, how? hmm if you read my earlier post on it, you will understand... too lengthy to start explain here again

3. I am still using the stock rom - v10e I don't know why some of the time my phone can't received sms or call.
Hehehehe its known problem as this is cause by the unstable switching between 2G & 3G network and after a while, it stop responding but it shows the phone is connected but you cant receive sms or make call. This is does not happens all the time but it happens on area where 3G is weak/overlapping of service cells. Default your phone is set to WCDMA preferred and GSM as 2nd selection.

Solution, select 'Use only 2G network' on those area, as for me, my workplace is one of the in this category, so it happens to me ALL the time until i found the solution biggrin.gif

4. Drain battery..
Hmm, i strongly agreed rolleyes.gif Different people have different cause, open up your phone 'Click settings ->About phone ->Battery use' and tell me what is your top 5 usage

Common cause

i'll list some of them down below and you decide which is your.

1. Widget/Apps - sometimes your apps have alot of sync going on and your phone cannot sleep properly and it keep draining your battery. Especially the LG's like CarHome, weather, etc or could be your installed apps that cause it. I got myself titanium to help me to backup & freeze the apps so it no longer run rclxms.gif

2. Network switching between 3G & 2G - as i've describe above, it you turn on 'use only 2G', that problem solves 2 issues together - battery drain & phone when 'dead' until restart

3. Battery need calibrate to reset the setting - hmm too long to write, pls refer to XDA forum whistling.gif

Since you're on v10e, some others no longer applicable to you as it has been resolve with patches thumbup.gif

Share with us and see if we can help each other out here until there is PROPER solution from LG & Oh yeah, LG is in my BOTTOM list of company in decision on any future purchase

P/S: about the network switching, for those who plan to switch over to custom rom & not on baseband 725, please follow the instruction in flashing (there will be guide and remember to flash the 4 files starting for biggest size to smallers as the biggest one is basic and the smaller ones are the *update* that fixes the problem thumbup.gif )

Wulfredz,

Really appreciate you reply in professionally.
Do I want to have a try on other custom roms or wait for GB??
My Top 5

1. Cell Standby 43%
2. Phone Idle 42%
3. Voice calls 14%
4. Display 3%

Most of the time the phone last for 1 day.
*
From the look of the items above, i think you're always on 3G network right? because i had the similar as above when i was on stock v10a -> v10d. When i got v10e, it lasted 1 day ++ (sometimes almost 2 days)

LG Official Stock rom US release
From the look of it, if you want to try the stock rom, try Paul's GB v20l, this rom is actually official rom release in US and Paul convert it into clockworkmod recovery file & root it. So i would say this is the actual v20l from LG but based on US release. Link is http://android.modaco.com/topic/348081-1-n...d-rooteddeodex/. There is 2 version, just take the rooted only, as for the other version, its meant for those people who want to customize the rom further

Instruction is available on that thread & its quite clear on how to do it

Topogigi's Custom ROM
Or you can try topogigi's rom's (this one is based on beta release v20j but went thru varies testing feedback from users in XDA and seem that this rom if you tweak properly have good battery lifespan. Link is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254359

What do you need to download?
Download the version v2.0, v2.0sp1, v2.0sp2, v2.0sp3. Why? its because the v2.0 is the base and the others are service pack (patches based on feedback from users and fixes for the problems they face)

and for improvement on performance + battery, please flash HP's kernal. Link is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295486.

Instruction is on that thread as well biggrin.gif

Recommendation for those who want stock, try Paul's version thumbup.gif

A stupid question, can anyone provide a link to me on "How to backup my original stock rom" ?
So that I can restore back after I install a custom rom.
*
Download Clockworkmod, there is option to do nandroid backup

As for apps
You can download titanium from market, free version allows you to have 1 version of backup and the paid version allows more copies + freeze program (this means you freeze the program, unlike the uninstall the program, you can defreeze to enable it to run again thumbup.gif )

Hehehe, for me is when i turn on papago, it drains the battery like crazy, must always keep the plug on or suddenly the phone beep, 'Please connect & charge' but the papago locking like 3-5 sec & really responsive biggrin.gif

*
Relax bro, atleast not like last time, say June, then july then on & on. Now they're forced to release in this month biggrin.gif but from what i tried, i can say its responsive but the drain......i think if you use for plain call without much surfing on 3G network is quite good (2 days with call + minor surfing) but once you play game/anything that use/pushes the screen / gps / 3G streaming, 1 day+ also.

One thing for sure, its better in response but the drain not so satisfaction yet. I think they just launch it 1st to keep the customer from doing civil lawsuit like US on G2X (counterpart for LG 2X worldwide) and to calm the customers down.

The ebay link offers is cheaper compare to price selling @ LG spare part center (here is selling RM70++) Well, if you are really desperate for spare battery, you can try this, its cheap http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/260851602792?ss...984.m1439.l2649

Got this and its cheaper then original (received the shipping in 2 weeks time) so far used for few months and still ok

or if you really dont mind paying, google mugen power ext battery. This one really works biggrin.gif

Better than previously...

Hmm, the last time i had reboot problem, LG replace the parts for my phone and ever since that, never have another reboot at all (well after i change i never use the original charger to charge) so i'm not sure your's is hardware or software problem. Well mine so far 2 days ++ still calibrating the battery

Added on November 7, 2011, 1:17 pmAny 1 can help me?oh I m very sad now..my phone is gone?
*
Please go flash back-to-ext3 then only flash topogigi's rom again, bootloop happens when you try to flash straight into roms without back-to-ext3 (get from http://android.modaco.com/topic/336318-4-a...-back-to-ext3/)

Don't worry, havent see any non recoverable flashing for this phone (unless you flash other phone's rom, then you pray very HARD and try nvflash)

Sorry for my newbiess..Just put the file downloaded into SD card?
*
No worry, here are the steps for flashing topogigi's rom

1. Put all the files you want to flash into sd
a) r1-backtoext3-2x-unsigned.zip
b) topogigi's rom v2.0, 2.0sp1, 2.0sp3, 2.0sp3
2. Boot info flashing menu aka Recovery mode (incase you forgot, power down your phone and hold power + vol down & voila your in)
3. Flash back-to-ext3

Extra steps to ensure you wipe all stuff to avoid leaving things which cause problem later
4. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalviks cache (this one you select advance, then only you can see)

5. Flash topogigi's v2.0, then follow by topogigi's v2.0 sp1, then follow by topogigi's v2.0 sp2, then follow by topogigi's v2.0 sp3

Please note: Remove your sim card if you want to sign in via wifi on 1st setup, it will detect no sim card and allow you to connect to wifi before login into google account (don't click home until you finish all steps to avoid common problem - Force close / home button not working)

6. Reboot and wait, 1st time boot will take time, relax and wait until you get into phone selection,

7. Please don't click home to skip setup, follow all the steps from setup wifi connection & sign into your google account, believe me, alot ppl skip this step and common issue face is home button not working or force close happens, or keyboard have issue which other language or some face BSOD (black screen of death)

8. When you finished with all the setup, go to market to download es explorer & titanium backup for browsing your sdcard & restore apps

P/S: titanium pro give you more than 1 backup copy + freeze function to 'FREEZE' apps, this is good thumbup.gif because now with this you can freeze bloatware from LG such as items below which DRAINS your battery

1. Stock antivirus (get another one from market)
2. CarHome (number 1 draining apps even your phone screen is off)
3. Weather widget

Others is up to individual, those who dont do much social networking can opt to freeze this too. Good thing about the titanium pro is, you are not deleting / uninstall your apps, just freezing them, you can unfreeze when you need them

Have fun wink.gif

*
Antivirus free is ok, not too bad on drain but dont expect much features. Lookout is quite good but i stop using it to narrow down any other apps that is draining (this one is good but drain more than the other one and need data too for the features biggrin.gif )

You can go and google for titanium pro,its available out there, but if possible pls buy it biggrin.gif to show support for the developers for their contribution.

Do you try the rooted stock rom 20L?
*
Yup tried v20L & quite similar to topogigi's rom. Diferrence are they're slightly more mature than beta (topogigi's is beta based on v20j before going official)

Pros
It's more smooth and gps lock is 3-5 sec if you enable data. They focus on alot of phone performance & stability (don't have any reboot, bsod, line drop & clearer + signal is stronger compared to froyo)

Cons
Battery drain has been improved but not to my expectation (i don't demand crazy stuff but atleast give the lifespan like cm7, then its good) probably they tweak for performance and therefore cause the battery not to be efficient as cm7

@Ikjune,

Warning this is not recommended for the faint hearts
If you feeling adventures, you can try other kernals, i've tried HP and find it slightly improved the performance & battery too.

But v20L won't be worst than v20e stock rom right?
What's HP?
Did you try how long the phone battery can last for?
*
My highest record for 1500mAH based on topogigi's rom + kernal 3days, normally around 2days ++. If try other battery such as mugen ext battery (4500mAH) notworthy.gif can last a week easily for light usage, but its bulky like old generation of handphone shocking.gif

v20e/v20j are beta roms and there are kernal & mods for these roms which design by users in attempt to tweak the roms to either for more performance/stable/ or battery friendly

HP is mod for the beta roms (link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295486)

Quote from the link for other users to refer incase you want to know what is it about/do

This kernel is based on LG V10e sources. This kernel is competible and should only be flashed with STOCK MCR FROYO and GINGERBREAD. NOT COMPETIBLE WITH CM AND MIUI

haha, dont be nervous

as long u keep ur recovery mode is fine, no matter how u mess ur rom, u always can flash back, my case is special, accidently fail at updating/flashing a newer recovery mode, so recovery mode broken, nothing can do such as restore or reflash roms, phone is dead

the final solution is to fully low level recovery by nvflash back to factory stock rom and settings, which u lost all root status, CWM, phone memory and internal sd data, external sd data still remain, i just want to find a way that fix without losing my current cm7 firmware, (cos i lazy reinstall app 1 by 1)

guess thats not possible since my phone bricked, so have to use nvflash, just restore my phone to stock 10b, (originally is 10a), now start over, root, and CWM then custom rom smile.gif

wulfrez, what u mean stock rom?u not using topogigi anymore?
*
Stock rom as in LG gingerbread v2.3 v20L biggrin.gif. Topogigi's rom is v20J (beta before official release)
Currently using v20L stock rom. So far quite ok, trying around other roms (topogigi's quite good but no harm trying others for comparison) icon_idea.gif
