Is it? If under RM2K then can consider...
Nexus 2 will launched on coming Jan 2012 (Reply from Samsung)

less than 150MB for froyo without install any other apps.
less than 100MB and most of the time it's about 50MB in GB.

Added on December 15, 2011, 1:16 amAre there any apps to backup my contact and SMS?
I want to restore to SGS2.
*
For contact, upload those into your gmail account. Any android which access your account automatically get the list. This way is better biggrin.gif

As for sms, open market and type in sms backup, there are plenty apps which can do so and work across different devices (it will export to xml in a backup folder, copy and paste then restore from the new device)

Oh ya, did i mention that after review the source code of gingerbread, apparently they support OTG feature too? only reason 2X didnt have this is because LG took it out from their kernel vmad.gif

Bros.

1) screen bleeding covered by warranty or not?

2) this phone stable on official MIUI and CM7 or not?
*
For screen bleeding, its consider defect, you need to show them and claim

Official MIUI, some say ok, some claim got problem. Based on what i've tried, galnet weekly MIUI is ok, ICS stable not really suitable for daily use yet.

CM7 is ok if you know what to do or get someone who know how to tweak it to do it for you. New comer to cm7 will initiall face challanges like bootloop, fc, bsod, etc -> can be solve if you know how to do it. CM7 is actually not bad but dont expect everything to work like stock rom

i know it supports it..i also managed to download the source...after 4 tries and wasting 1GB of data.. doh.gif

Yeah, i know, same case for those samsung galaxy tab p1000. The users also want OTG but kernel not enable so no choice. It would be perfect device if got OTG enable

OTG + battery pack + HDD = WIN...
but i am curious if the kernel itself is able to detect other hardware like keyboards and mouse..they do not require OTG but more of a detection scheme itself.
*
What you are refering is call Host Mode. This also been discuss in samsung tab P1000 as they too have same issue where this is not enable there (gingerbread supports this but if the kernel remove this feature then it wont work)

From what i notice, anything that does not require power draw/ low power is ok like keyboard or mouse is ok. E.g the alpha ICS demo (refer to alpha ICS for samsung s2) can detect mouse and thumbdrive. You may refer to the thread in XDA, but the alpha is REALLY basic, alot of things is NOT working but show good potential

What i wish available for ICS
1. H/W acceleration
2. OTG / USB detection common device

Others are minor which have alternative like battery optimization (in worst scenario, i just plug in mugen battery icon_idea.gif ) but those two above cant do anything sad.gif

not just Host Mode...must support mounting NTFS as well...somewhat like Xoom with a rebuilt kernel for NTFS read support..FAT based filesystem will be quite limiting due to the size limit..

but most devices have the keyboard and mouse functionality available without requiring OTG or Host Mode..

O2X + ICS + OTG = more users..brows.gif
*
Well, if they enable the kernal to support OTG biggrin.gif, it opens up more feature for the modders to do more stuff biggrin.gif Now cant do anything since no source to kernal nor a kernal which support OTG.

Your point above will be ideal for 2X users, combo "LG 2X" + ICS (hardware acceleration enable) + OTG (whoops here comes the plug thumbdrive / portable media, cant say about harddisk...draw too much power and don't think that tiny port can handle it) = Everyone Happy --> More potential customers

what is OTG?

USB On-The-Go

Quote from wiki
"USB On-The-Go, often abbreviated USB OTG, is a specification that allows USB devices such as digital audio players or mobile phones to act as a host allowing a USB flash drive, mouse, or keyboard to be attached."

GB for malaysia set has been out for few months already. You can try to update via LG Updater (if doesn't work, uninstall your LG Updater and re-install again) or if your phone is thorus set and under warranty, walk into LG center and ask them to do it for you

For those who don't mind trying out custom roms. Give this a try

[ROM] 20111231 | Gueste2X v2.1 / v2.2 RC3 Golden Hybrid (LG 2.3-GB v20M/E/O) Link

I've tried running on this rom and summary/feedback for this rom

1. Good on battery
2. FD (fast dormancy is gone)
3. v20o solves the problem with the unstable signal (my phone now no longer lost signal and it seem that LG has fix this issue in their v20m/v20o beta release
4. Comes with custom kernal that works with tethering and more battery friendly compares to other roms i tried earlier (maybe because other roms is based on earlier versions)
5. More memory available

P/S: charge your phone to 100% before flashing, after flashing charge full again & do battery calibration. This helps biggrin.gif

My first custom rom is Thanatos' old rom and has been using it nearly 3 weeks now. While on stock rom the maximum battery lifespan I had was around 14 hours with 3g off all time. But with the custom rom? Well, I'm fairly happy with it tongue.gif

[attachmentid=2623206]

[attachmentid=2623204]

[attachmentid=2623205]

As you can see I used wifi more, but when I'm not on wifi? 3G all the way, no more switch to 2g icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't know where I read it, but I think this rom use ext3 right?
*
v2.1 = ext3, v2.2 = ext4 (i'm using [stabile kernel] Gueste2X_v2.2_Final_Kernel_SR1.zip + Bluetooth Fix for 2.2 Final. Try to avoid
- Gueste2X_v2.2_Final_Kernel_RC11-R_with_Swap.zip
- Gueste2X_v2.2_Final_Kernel_FPS0.2a_with_Swap.zip

It seems that its yet really 100% stable with these version

1st calibration, left 37% after 23 hrs 43m 33s with 3G network all the way *data enable biggrin.gif

Update: single charge lasted me 1 days 9 hrs with 3G all the way biggrin.gif

@wulfredz

What is the difference between these 2 spica's works?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295486

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332449

I think the first one is the modded kernel, what about the 2nd one? Still a noob here tongue.gif
*
Yup, 1st one is modded kernel. 2nd one performance pack aka tweak for the phone such running ext2/4 + other scripts. Original LG is running on ext3, the performance pack support those either ext2 / ext4 (ext 2 is faster, but ext4 is more tuned compared to ext 2 / 3 but not as fast as ext2.). It includes tweak on how the android file system, battery management, etc. You can refer to the changelog to see the listed features
