Daniel,

dun be so naive n trust SA talks ya.
they just say anythin to push for sales.
now heavy promotion due to not many buyers of inspira in coming mths.
as u knw newer cars will have more local contents from time to time .
*
LoL Yea I know but I edi bought my car and there is no defects on it. He don't need to continue to push sales to me when I edi bought my car edi right? lolx I'm telling you what I experience XD. My car has no defects at all and I'm happy with it. I'm not sure how many percent of it is local made but if my car dun die out of no reason im happy with it. If there is parts spoilt or something I will change it to better ones.

yea, wat ever it is ,the majarity of parts are frm jpn or mitsu. so its not tht all will be so problematic as normal proton models.
most of us are 1st batch buyers up to 7-8mths + are still damn happy with our units.
just tht SA talks can only take 20% worth of info only tongue.gif

SierraGlow "SG" http://www.sierraglow.com/ or PPS www.shinenshield.com
Washing the car yourself is a must if you wanna take care of your car properly - no short cuts. Outside car wash do not and will not dedicate much effort to ensure its "correctly" washed. Why do I say this, is because they use the same old/worn cloths from 1 car to another, so imagine how many dirt, sand and dust particles they carry from one car and to another and another and then to yours? This in the long run will scratch the paint, and you see plenty of swirl marks/"spider webs" under proper lighting. It will surely spoil the shine after SG.

So by applying proper washing technique, regular maintenance and use correct tools will ensure your car is well taken care off, and you know it is because its washed by yourself.

So if you are really into doing the wash by yourself after SG, I would recommend that you try

1. Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine (ONR) - Just rinse your car properly, wash 1 section of the car each time (top 1st then to bottom) with this ONR and then wipe dry, no need to do any rinsing. Its surprisingly cleaner than normal shampooing products, slightly pricier than conventional car shampoo but its well worth it for me. If you want to buy this please PM the seller KC http://forum.lowyat.net/user/344336 for more info.

2. Use 3 Microfiber towels, 1 to wash and 2 to dry, whole car can be washed & dried within 20mins. Towels should be replaced after 3 months of usage.

3. Wash with 2 bucket system, 1 with ONR/shampoo and the other bucket normal water to rinse the towel after washing each section to remove any potential dirt/sand/dust from the towel before proceeding to the next section of your car.

For me using ONR saves time and effort, so with SG and ONR is doubly easy to wash and maintain your car regularly.

As for the tar question, it is a tricky situation to handle, it does stick to the surface on the car even with SG, what you can do is to clay the tar spots and it will come out, if the tar is like a big patch/splash then use the Tar Remover or Optimum Power Clean straight or if you have the time go back to SG, let them handle it for you if you worry about damaging the SG layer, which means probably you have to leave the tar stains there for some time before they have slot to help you, so either DIY or go back to SG. That's why its tricky... laugh.gif

I Collected my car last friday chassis number 84xx inspira 2.0P you should try to get around there.  What I heard from my SA only old Inspira has alot defects. They have been improving since than so its better to get new ones now. if you duwan suspension nyek nyek nyek. Rear Lights have abnormal gaps compare to normal ones just try to get Inspira chassis number around 8xxx. So if you get old ones >.> than I'm sorry you have to check it thoroughly, besides I heard from the other members Proton is using back mitsubishi side windows or something. When I receive my car I have no defects at all ^^ Peace V. It still depends on your luck of getting defected car anot.

I think this chasis number also depends on color perhaps..
if let say u are taking black color, many ppl bought black color, so maybe the chasis number will increase more faster than others color..
i collected my inspira plum red 2.0P with chasis number 77xx..and mileage about 20KM...20km maybe my SA went to isi minyak lor...

What you mean is there could be not so popular color units with earlier chassis no sitting in the stockyard?

If not mistaken there are 3 running numbers, 1 for 1.8MT, 1.8CVT & 1 for 2.0CVT... the prefix are diff due to cc and transmission. Example of VIN no as below...

yes, this what i mean, i knew the running number not depends on color, but logically, the chasis number for most popular color also will increase as not popular color will be still in store...
let say they produced 3 black and 3 white with chasis 01 for black, 02 for white, 03 for black, 04 for white, 05 for black and 06 for black...
customers already bought 3 black color and there are only 1 wihte color bought..
so the new customer who bought for forth black color will get the lastest chasis number but the new customer who bought the white will get chasis number = 04 as 03 already sold previously...get what i mean?

aiyooo, yes, i should add by varian also in my earlier post...
dont be too seriuos, this is my assumption only..

they build it by batch ..
if 7101 is red .. 7102 shd be red as well ..
then maybe 7150 is black .. and so on .
smile.gif

EXAMPLE ...

50 biji black 2.0 CVT ... then from 7100 ~ 7149 .. all balck 2.0 cvt
then 20 biji white 1.8 mt .. then from 7150 ~ 7169 is white 1.8 mt .. and so on ..

i think they are running up to 11xxx already as we speak now ..

Oh, so 2.0 & 1.8 share the same running number? Do you have the breakdown of what each number represent like the table I attached above?

Since its true they have different prefix for model & transmission, do they still share same running number or 3 different running numbers?

Eg of 3 diff running numbers...
PL1CY3SNRBF001001 onwards - for 1.8M
PL1CY3STRBF001001 onwards - for 1.8CVT
PL1CY4STRBF001001 onwards - for 2.0CVT
