Yes i agree that it isnt safe. But i found the Vios quite stable at high speeds. Yes it was light but still quite ok. Of course dont compare with other C or D segments la. Maybe cuz of the stabilizer bars?

Even F1 car is not that safe.

Does it matter if something is coming from a luxury brand or not? In Europe they tend to compare the Skoda Superb to all sorts of cars, including Merc E class and BMW 5 series, and that despite Skoda being a budget brand and costing less... a lot less. (Usually they seem to conclude that the Skoda is almost as good as Merc and BMW...).

Viva vs BMW anyone? doh.gif

No safety feature will help you in this case. But the land authority inspectors will have to examine the case in order to figure out if it's really human error or a case of unintended acceleration.

So I'd take the videos with a pinch of salt at the moment until the full report comes out.

But why the VSC won't help the K5 to straightened?

Bro, thats why i said u need to do more research on cars. There are various articles on VSC on the net. Please read them and understand how VSC works. Only then can you appreciate it. Use the internet to learn the importance of VSC rather than look for excuses to show that it isnt important.

VSC not some miracle tool that can read your mind u know. It only reacts when the sensors pick up loss of traction in the tyres usually before the driver realises himself. VSC is not a tool to overcome an intentional action of the driver.
*
IMHO, it's the KIA K5 car fault, not an intentional action of the driver.

It's clear in the video that the driver tried to maneuver the car into the empty lane, but, the car move to the left.

Or, perhaps, the VSC device in the K5 is faulty. whistling.gif

Yeah. If you want a Camry, buy the last gen 2.4V. That's a better car, and it is cheaper too.
*
Better than 2.5V?

2.5v comes with new engine, dual vvti, etc.

Oh, maybe because 2.5v does not has VSC.

No doubt VSC is important. Thanks to you guys.

The new Camry 2.5V did came with newer engine, dual VVTi + ACIS, EBD, TRC, etc.

Yes, traction control is not removed. Please check their website. Only VSC is absent.

How does the lacked of one feature makes the new Camry a crap as compared to Kia K5, as some of you guys here said?

Don't forget that the aero-corner design that reduces drag. Remember, KL to Perlis for only RM 60 (I don't care about L/km or km/L). Even some of the people here have doubt on the figure. But, this is the truth.

No, no Traction control. It's not listed on their spec list. You go check yourself under column safety.

The aero-corner design reduces drag coefficient, which improves mileage. It doesn't do anything to improve safety btw, same story with the engine - 100% all the technology given is to improve your mileage so in this respect, the 2.5V engine is definitely better than 2.4V.

The website did mentioned traction control.

Me too if I can afford it.

Affordable = price, maintenance and availability of service center.

Then why did you go for the 2.5V Camry since the VW Passat is in the same price range?
*
Simple. Because there is no service center here.

I only have to drive 10 minutes to get my Latio and Toyota serviced.

On the contrary:

1 hour for K5.

2++ hours for VW.

Have you tested your full tank actual mileage? Not the readings but an actual mileage range in 100% city.
*
Nope, but, I think last I checked it's ~600km for 3/4 tank in city.

Its compulsory in Europe, US and Australia. VSC wont prevent accidents 100% but it will surely reduce them.
