Have you thought of the Boss ME-50???
It doesn't come with amp modelling, but it has all the cool effects that Boss is famous for. Because it is a dedicated effect module, you don't have to worry about the amp settings and all that.

hey metalhead,
never tried a wah??!!! wahlau eh. then i can just go over to your place when i am free and u can play with my weeping demon wah. simple as that right? the thing is i dont know when u're free and i will also be quite busy. finals coming up. as for the zoom, i also use a zoom. a zoom505II which was my first pedal i got(dad bought for me for christmas) over 5-6 or maybe 7 years ago. its still in my lineup. the wah isnt that nice but then i think its good enough for room purpose(i have a roland expression pedal so i can use the wah on a 505II). the reason i keep the zoom is coz of the modulation. even though ppl say zoom sucks like hell, ive seen guitarists who have tonnes of pedals(including line 6 modulation pedals. the huge ones) and still keep the zoom 505 in their rig coz of the unique modulation sounds. reason is its not too analogue sounding. bad thing about it is that you cant really alter the effect parameters in a zoom to get exactly what you want.

ive tried the boss me50 and i am quite impressed. the thing is if i didnt have the stompboxes i have now i wouldve gotten it already. another good thing about the me50 is that it sounds good used with a guitar amp, not like an amp modeller which tone will be affected when used with a real guitar amp

probably free on raya although thats supposed to be my study break for finals which is the week after raya.

my gear are all at my uncle's place in subang. i guess i can only bring the wah back. very troublesome if i want to bring my whole pedalboard and rack preamp to my hostel then bring over to ur place.(and i dont think it would be safe having my rack lying around in my hostel. theres been a few stealing cases already where laptops and computers go missing)

Has anyone tried the Vox V-847 Wah???

I'm really tempted to try it out, since it's close to the same specs that Jimi used to use.

For all the famous songs that you remember from Jimi, he was probably using the Vox.

Didn't know that until I read the article. I thought it was Jim Dunlop that made his first wah..... AND he found out the unique sound of the Wah from................

Eric Clapton when he was in Cream.

Anyone tried the Boss V-Wah before? It's got like six different wah sounds and a seperate overdrive control. Sounds too good to be true, so I'm sceptical. Plus, Boss have a history of making as many poor pedals as they do good ones.

Well, it's a Wah Modeller, some ppl are gonna pick on its digital sounding, some are gonna like its versatility. Each to their own opinion, I guess.

I think the wah used by Clapton differs from Hendrix's, Clapton's wah is more bass-heavy while Hendrix's focuses more on the mid-range. Then again I'm not too sure abt this.
I'm not sure how the new Vox wah sounds too, but considering the fact that it's a classic, you shouldn't go far wrong with it. thumbup.gif

if you want the zoom 505 II, i will be back on november in malaysia. I can bring mine, and sell it to you, at 30% of the retail price (i'm clearly not using it... just the jam-man that I may regret).

Anyway, it's your call smile.gif

blacktrix > wow, i would have guessed you'd stick to that...

I like the tittle Tuner peg that comes with the ZW-45. The one to adjust how hard or soft the pedal is.... I'm always picky on those kind of things.....
And besides...... it's Zakk's Wah!!!
