Just wanted to share this with u guys, as some of u may know that Honycomb 3.2 SDK (said to be suited for smaller-slates) is out and that spacemoose is working on the port for our beloved galaxy tab.
Whats new is that Huawei is going to introduce the first 7 inch slate with honycomb 3.2 working on it, this is great news for us ....it means soon there will be either a full functioning port of it to our GT or an update from Samsung.

Just bought my tab 2 days ago. Today update to gingerbread at samsung service.

One question; Is it possible to transfer contacts from my sim card to the pad? If can, how to do it..

i dun have a Tab but i'm pretty sure u can look at Contacts and press Menu. There will be option where u can Import and Backup contacts.

yup thats right go to contacts > press menu button > import ( from sim card )

hi, i ecountered a problem
cant get my 3g working
before this, works just fine... but today, i activate airplane mode, and when i disable it, no 3g...

what ive done:
1.manually setup apn http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1473755
2.doesnt work, using maxis phone setting http://www.maxis.com.my/phonesettings/index.asp
3.reboot my tab
4.after doesnt work, reset APN

but still cant get 3g on...receive msg and calls just fine...(using 500mb simcard maxis sold at garage sale)

im using Overcome ROM v3.0.0-ICARUS

final solution i might try, reset my tab

usually i use gsm for my network settings, but i know this if u want to see the 3g availability make sure that the
1. network mode is gsm/wcdma
2. the -use packet data- is checked

3g icon should show up, if not try opening a webpage it should show up then.

hope it works.

click setting -> wireless m network -> mobile network -> APN - check ur setup or compare with front page

back i just roll back to GB stock, cause icarus been to much on my phone ... keep reset 3g and also most time no network or stuack in edge (need reboot to over come it)

woohoo..... upgrade to 2.3.3 gingerbread thru kies this early morning... just took me 10 minutes only... btw, mine was stock rooted froyo before.

hmm... initially i thought all the apps installed will be gone/wipe, but its still there after the upgrade.. will root it back later...

again.. woohoo....

Just update yo gingerbread yesterday at Samsung service center.
Now it feel faster and smoother.
I love gingerbread.

What i meant was, errr.... I cannot make up my mind whether to get a GalaxyTab or SGS2 .....

Both can be used as phone also.

7" is bigger screen and cheaper.
SGS2 is smaller but more expensive.
