referring to step 22, is it a must or just an optional to patch bootloader before upgrading to 2.3.3 GB thru KIES?

Thanx my friends... Mine still on stock rooted froyo.... With virgin signed bootloader...

woohoo..... upgrade to 2.3.3 gingerbread thru kies this early morning... just took me 10 minutes only... btw, mine was stock rooted froyo before.

hmm... initially i thought all the apps installed will be gone/wipe, but its still there after the upgrade.. will root it back later...

again.. woohoo....

will try flash oc kratos rom from dxjpi. yesterday, i try to flash jq1 as instruction but dont know why it failed to boot. did it twice.. lastly, reflash stock dxjpe again as i haven't download dxjpi yet..

will give it a try later..

try flash gb stock safe 5 yesterday but dont know why it doesn't want to boot... doesn't want to reboot automatically... boot into android recovery instead... the message also appeared different from the guideline by bro thepitbull... didnt take a pic of the message.. try to flash twice but still failed...

lastly, fed up plus tension, reflash back the stock dxjpe... later will sort it out again la... thanx bro epul.. will remain stock la at the moment... cant play will kratos la at the moment... rugi rugi...

oh.... really... thanx tuan benny.... will experimenting with stock safe v4 but need to download it first... is the download link still available in the overcome website? i can't find it there...

maybe you can try update to DXJPI firmware as compared to DXJPE.. advisable flash thru ODIN as most of us didn't have the luck update thru KIES

bro, just reflash stock rom and voila.... you'll have fresh virgin unrooted factory rom...

actually me also don't know how to unroot but reflash should be the way... no harm...

any members can help? or someone from samsung service here?

if you ask me, i will just try my luck. just go to their service centre... worst case, they will just inform the warranty already void. only then, i'll know the answer....

DXJPI is newer compared to DXJPE... updated through KIES before from DXJPE... but there is no download link in samfirmware..

seems there is some contradiction between those two... i have wifi issue on dxjpe but not on dxjpi... battery life much better on dxjpe but in my case, maybe due to wifi problem...
