i see.. thanks a lot man.. most of the review i search all would suggest E11. still thinking both of them which to go now.  biggrin.gif  really thanks a lot about your help.  notworthy.gif

Edit : Even much people suggest E11, the only thing i hesitating for both E11 and E7 is because E7 can be combine with the Fiio E9 to pump my desktop.

External DAC still need to connect to PC.

From my understanding,
USBDAC is use your USB as the interface between PC and the DAC and to the headphone/speaker.

An external DAC basically has a coax or optical SPDIF input and analogue outputs, will converts a digital audio signal to an analogue signal. You could also use between the digital output on a DVD or CD player or media player.

It would depend on whether your player is capable of bypassing it's own internal dac. An example would be the use of the CLAS (can't rmb what it stands for) + iphone

All media players that involve the conversion of digital files (mp3, wav, flac) to sound (via headphones/speakers) require a DAC inside.

DAC is only for PC use with exception of the Fostex HP-P1 taking digital audio out from iPod / iPhone / iPad.

By the way, the E5 is already EOL, to be replaced by E6 in September brows.gif

I saw this in Fiio website. My 1st impression was, the usb is to connect to a pc and become the USB DAC but when look at the Spec, it mean for power only.

D5 is the actual USBDAC from fiio.

Bro E1, any idea when D5 and E10 is out. Look promising products.

E6 don't have clips.. but can hang...

D5 have a sound input function... more for gamers but still can be use as usbdac for sure.

It does have the functions like Razer Megalodon etc. With the usb in, coax out and mics galore.

What is DAC?
QUOTE
In electronics, a digital-to-analog converter (DAC or D-to-A) is a device that converts a digital (usually binary) code to an analog signal (current, voltage, or electric charge). An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) performs the reverse operation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital-to-analog_converter

Guys, feel free to share your DACs previews, reviews and recommendations here.

For seekers, feel free to ask it here and use the format as below.
