It is safer to flash modem through CWM, not odin. The file should end with .zip

i'm using the heimdall-suite to root..currently in froyo..
*
Ic, probably an error with using heimdall. You can retry flashing with it and see if it works.
If it still fails, try using odin to flash speedmod kernel for froyo

1. There's a link on how to flash speedmod kernel on front page: http://touristinparadise.blogspot.com/2010...to-install.html
2. Front page, under eclair/froyo guide on how to root after flashing speedmod kernel

All the best!

if froyo, go download superoneclick, enable usb debug then click root from superoneclick and wholla  rclxms.gif
*
the problem with superoneclick is it seems doesn't work everytime. we got many users here with that problem. that's why I recommend flashing froyo speedmod kernel

Hmm I wonder if you guys have adfree working on your phone? I'm on DXJV9 and it seems that angry birds still have the ads, and also some other apps which becomes a bother a bit dry.gif. Any other adfree-like apps?

give it 5~10minute to run ? sometimes after reset it might took longer to load
*
If one is flashing kernel only, it should be quick. flashing rom OTOH, is longer.

Yes. even samsung service centre won't know you've flashed with odin or rooted the phone before, provided that you flash with official firmware.

icic..why the file format you provide for the dxjv9 file is .exe de?
*
Because the supplier, who is Ramad at xda-devel packaged it that way. Another source for stock rom is at www.samfirmware.com

Want to ask~~I'm on CM7 right now~~If I want to change to Insanity~~means I have to re-flash again as if it's a new Custom ROM??  icon_question.gif

Or just flash the Insanity through Recovery mode then can already??  tongue.gif
*
If insanity CM7, yes. But you have to clear cache & dalvik cache. Or just use lippol kernel cleaning script. I think you have to format /system also.

done doing it bro,

and step by step again,

revert to froyo via EZOdin, then install back again MIUI galnet from start tongue.gif

hope everything ok lol
*
It won't work if you flash straight from ezbase froyo to Galnet 3.1
I had to flash ezbase, Galnet 2.2 then 3.1

I don't know if the latest Galnet will work from ezbase froyo.

9.5 as i remember

Added on July 4, 2011, 2:41 pmi still can use the phone i found it quite lag i think i need 2 wipe the device n flash again
*
- all froyo rom, CM7 and Miui needs froyo bootloader
- all gingerbread rom, including the custom ROMs need gingerbread bootloader

Of course you can use it but you'll get the screen corruption.

Solution : flash ezboot for gingerbread. Link at first page.
