Not sure if i'm getting Diablo 3 anymore. Casualize and dumbed down. Really no thanks. No stats allocation, no skillpoints, free-respec. Grim Dawn hell yeah.

I dont think D3 is dumbed down a lot. Things like stats allocation are just a relic of older RPGs. Depending on how the RPG is designed, i do not see whats wrong with throwing out some of the old RPG ideas. Skyrim did it fairly well without stats allocation and a simpler skillpoint. Guild Wars 2's stats can be chosen, depending what you want.

D3 is still fairly enjoyable. I rather see the way Diablo 3 is now, than Diablo 2 with shinier graphics.

Grim Dawn has a Kickstarter project:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cratee...nment/grim-dawn

Help fund it and don't let developers that made good games died off!. They are the original developers that made Titan Quest.

Not to mention they are going DRM free!

I am going to pledge $35 next week.

These guys has a fully playable alpha with more of the coding done. At the same time, they are the great guys who made Titan Quest which is one of the best ARPG around. No way i am not funding these people. I want to see the real Titan Quest without any publisher breathing down their neck.

The other one i'll pledge would be Nekro. They have their engine almost done, with really nice lighting effect. Looks like they need a bit more to finish the game.

It is inspired from games like Dungeon Keeper with a little bit of Overlord. The team consist of people from Blizzard and Microsoft employee.

Personally, i like their art style with a little bit of the Warcraft 3 vibe with it and humors like also exploding pigs to make bacon. The gameplay sounds interesting on paper, where you are playing as a Dungeon Keeper sort of thing, with minions to do your bidding. I miss this sort of game, so this is definitely a must for me to pledge. I like the idea of randomised maps every time you play the game, where i find it to be a good idea to make the game to be very replayable.

I pretty much only pledge for the companies that have something to show and being honest, instead of those with some nice concept art and thats it. Kinda regret for missing Banner Saga.

Sorry for going off topic.

I hate to see developers who made great games died off. I'm gonna make a pledge too. Need to think which is best.. I'm out of budget too. Ugh.

Just helping to spread the news around would be the best i guess.

Edit
What the heck is Nekro? It looks like Dota2 graphics.. gonna check it out.

Kickstarter is a funding project. I believe you can treat is as buying the game that has yet to complete.

There's 1 backer of $8000 and more. Wow.. really? Who's that rich guy?

Oh, I should also mention, I received an email today from an editor of a well-known gaming site that actually lives in Massachusetts. He's going to be dropping by my place tomorrow to do an in-person interview and also play a bit of Grim Dawn (hopefully it behaves).

Can't wait.

A new environment set that you'll get to decide on. We'll create a thread on the Grim Dawn forums to discuss ideas with fans, then select the best ideas and create a poll for you to vote the one you want most.

$412k
2 additional monster types (models and animations)

$425k
Three large, high-level dungeons, each with its own theme and named hero monster. The dungeon entrances will randomly appear in the world.

$450k
Savage two-handed melee weapons (includes animations and all the art required to create an entirely new item type)

$465
Additional end-game boss (total of 3) to encounter in some dark and dangerous corner of the world.

$480k
New survivor town hidden in the remote wilderness for you to discover. Will include a new faction group and new quest-lines to unlock once you've gained their trust.

With each target reached, the developer will put more content into the game, so everyone break open that safe and give them all your money!! tongue.gif

Also the promised exclusive in-person preview from "an editor of a well-known gaming site that actually lives in Massachusetts".

Already pledged $50 for the game. Might add a bit more when my money comes.

Might go up to $100 at the end, if there is a chance to have the additional survivor city.

I will be happy if they can even reach 375k at this point since the project will end on 19 May.

It is quite impossible to reach the highest target unless there are a lot of rich, generous people pledging 8k-10k.

Hello All,

Arthur Bruno here, one of the developers on Grim Dawn. A member of this forum who backed us on Kickstarted sent me the link to this thread. I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and positive comments!
