alright thanks! oh and another question;

im aware that the NEX-3 doesn't have a receiver (for wireless triggers, remotes etc.) but is there a shutter release cord for NEX-3?

Nope, nothing of that sort, even for NEX-5 / 7.

Sharing my 2cents... there is a work around for wireless off-camera flash which I'm using successfully.

SYK-5 seagull wireless optical trigger... must be syk-5 cuz it has adjustable timer delay. No option to off Sony's TTL, therefore any other optical trigger system will trigger to early.

Works well in doors & night shots. For outdoors I mount the syk-5 directly on my sony's tiny flash with a rubber band. Add a diffuser & wire directly using a pc sync cable to my flash.

Yeah.. lot of stuff & not so ideally nice looking physically... but I'd rather have have an ugly camera than an ugly picture using on camera flash.

YN-460s will fire by optical slave via S2.

Sonia wireless trigger can be activated through optical as well. Will skip pre-flash by learning mode.

There are lots of workarounds to fire flashes optically.

Yeah a lot can do optically..at night/indoors... but that's not off camera right? that's just a slave flash. Plus it wont work in broad day... GN6 from nex flash too weak. Learned tat the hard way.

Have u tried the YN-460s? not all versions work bro... some versions just misses on all modes. You better test at the shop. But most YN will work only when dial is at half power or lower. It actually sort of fires twice... bit waste battery. Sonia flash trigger kinda expensive. Learning mode tend to miss fire easily in slightly bright places.

Best realiable solution would be a optical trigger with delay mount directly on the camera flash plus simple diffuser to block/soften nex flash... then either radio transmitter or wire to your flash.

Good walkaround lens if you don't mind the size. Don't expect it have blazing fast AF speed though.

Yes, that s right. But with your original way, you will be limited in distance due to cable length. Pros & cons for both anyways. Tried the 460 and 460II; fired consistently indoors. Didn't try outdoor, but thats pretty obvious.

Radio trigger mounted on the HVL-F7S is certainly the best way to go about it.

Recently though, the people at dpreview have been using IR acrylic plates to change the light from the HVL-F7S to IR, and using an IR receiver / transmitter. Very interesting stuff.

Fun to mess around, but I'll leave it all behind when I have the NEX-7 in my hands.

R U Sure?? to recommend this course for the general NEX population?? Ori photoshop CS5 is more than Rm2000 per license, probably this course applies to people or companies who has income from their photography or digital imaging works. Myself using GIMP.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask... I'm getting the Nex 5n black, with 18-200. Anyone knows where is the best place to get it with reasonable price? Lots of place without stock now.
