Today went to test drive k5...

Not much power. No oomp...

The exterior is too stylish....will easily outdate...

I think i cant see any reason for me to buy this car in future.

Will go for either new camry or vw...

Korean..tech really suckss...previously own kia spectra...

Initially i tot korean car can give a try but, it really really cannot compete...

The only thing kia can do is to win over those youngster by car design...

I got the test drive unit via my friend...he keep on recooomend me this car...but after test drive, i feel disappointed with its power..

how u guys drive until can get 600 to 700km?? my mileage now 2000km, so far full tank RM120 can get max 520km only (mostly city drive)

Bro u sleep in the car or ..i find that very hard to spy ppl in the car with engine on, with the drl on,  every passerby will keep looking at the car  , saw one white at OUG yesterday, driving with DRL OFF, faulty
mostly city drive, so u can imagine la...anyway, i think is my driving style, here are my previous ride FC for comparison (with normal city drive),
Honda City IDSI - 10-11km per liter (my wife can get 13-14km)
Nissan Latio Sport - 9-10km per liter
Optima K5 - 8-9km per liter with eco mode on all the time

My fc is around 750km.. To Penang last week and some town driving also. Maybe 70/30. It was before my 1st service so go around 100km/hr only. My SA advice me not to drive above 110km/hr before first service. Let the car run-in first.

It's a good thing k5 comes with auto cruise. Most of the time on highway I don't notice my speed is above 120 cause it is very stable. 

My service mechanic told me he even reach 200km/hr in a test drive car.. ... And said it is very stable. I dare not try la. Scared Kenya saman...

Now I m in Kuantan. Pump full tank then drive here. Use only 3 bar of petrol only. Will check again when I drive back.

Most of my friends that saw my car fist time says its a Lexus ..

Wont sound proofing void the warranty? cause I saw on the net they removed almost all the interior to install the sound proofing layer (even the whole dahs).. I know they r pros in wat they do, but still kinda scary since optims is still a new model car wit a lot of electronic gadget = a lot of wiring... correct me if I am wrong

K5 owners, pls help .. I have a question.. Yesterday a camry fren, request a test drive on my K5 . ( he so like K5  ) and we tried to take out the key from my car after engine start.. He still can driving my car without the key remote inside the car drive ard the car park.. (est. 2,3 KM far from me holding the key)

Bro this tail light cost RM 1.5k

Can still drive till your fuel tank runs dry, then cannot start. So be careful, don't leave your engine running unattended. Don't leave your love ones in the car unattended too. recalled a few cases where people hijacked the car along with children inside, and also that Subang Jaya case whereby they also raped the young wife of the car owner.

pls note dont do any upgrades of systems, especially wiring, many sportage owners are finding out the hard way, get arul from sc selayang to explain.

The Service Advisor at Kia Glenmarie told me got 2 reported cases of alarm installation that caused some short circuit to their Sportage.
1 is due to water seepage from window tinting kena the alarm wire and another is installation of front sensor and alarm system somehow screw up the meter panel, and the owner has to pay >3k.
Both installed the so-called approved alarm system from their respective SA/dealer but the SA told me Naza HQ still haven't give green light from alarm installation.

hi guys, i went to all the 100 pages to get the review on K5. I am planning to change my current car to D- segment car. Initially I am planning to look for Camry or Accord but since currently I am using Kia Spectra just went to their showroom in Feb to have a look at their new models. K5 really catch my eye. My wife love it and she think it’s really suite me well compare to accord. I do feel the New Camry interior look so dull and worse compare to the current Camry.

I had book silver K5 last week and went for test drive it last week at 1 Utama after look at all the review and negative feedback in the forum. I am happy with the performance of the car. Currently I am at dilemma either between Accord and K5. Few things that I would like to get the current owners feedback:

1)What you think will be the resale values of K5? Current I do own Spectra and almost for 7 years. I only able to trade in it for RM11k. I still have to top up few RM+k to pay off the bank loan. I am planning to sell of the car since I am start seeing problems with the car especially cosmetic problems.

2)How about the FC of K5 compare to accord?

3)How about the maintenance cost compare to Accord? More expensive?

4)What you feel about the service center? I don’t like their SC in puchong last time since always full and have book few week earlier and finally change to local workshop for services.

I don’t want to say the Kia car performance is bad since I didn’t see it in my Spectra. I found that my car performance is still good other than some cosmetic problems like dashboard warpage due to hot weather, aircon controller knob not functioning at 1 and 2, the storage box cover is broken due to the heat, the radio is gone. My another friend is not lucky as me since his spectra had lot of problems till he sell it off in less than 5 years. Do you guys think Naza and Kia had improved from Spectra to K5?

If s thief , then the car has drove long long away , and even engine can't start but can take off all parts and sell lo..

Or got time to reset or re-program the engine ?

will be meeting another K5 owner this saturday morning for coil mat , not sure if owner is going for the tt or not

But I tried my fren camry, can't deny , the camry is comfort too, and passing cross road, it' quiet and absorber is nicer compare to K5, but interior is a bit bore..

As I said , give and take, no prefect car in this kinda price range.

I also planned to buy camry initially but after china camry picture come out, I don't like the design, and despite its lack of gadget its price tag is more expensive (considering 2.0G). Only advantage is comfort. I feel K5 comfort not that far apart from Camry, and with many obvious features more, esp sunroof, push start, paddle shifter, great sound system, some of which I can only get in Camry 2.5V if paying additional 40k+. Not to mention many additional safety feature such as ABS, EBD, TCS, brake assist plus the killer look that suits me, so I go for K5..    Camry can't give me that satisfaction...

K5 sales in Feb increase 3 fold compares to Jan figures! This shows K5 demand is picking up, so I think the resell value will increase too. What KIA need to do is to add on value to their after sales service, after they successfully launched so many great selling model: Sportage, Optima etc. This will improve the value for entire brand, which translates to better resell value.
