Not really blown away though, M1 with dual boot ability is...just..

But what makes me look @ the Nexus is that it's Nexus, curved display and dpi.

I am an Android app developer.

I have a user complaining that his HTC Desire HD was on 2.3.3 and can install, then when upgrade to 2.3.5, the app is gone. The app in question is here:

The app's filters are:
- must have touchscreen (so Google TV cannot use this app)
- must be able to get Internet connectivity (WiFi tablets can see this app)
- Android 1.5 and above (no maximum version is set)
- small, normal, large and xlarge screens (small = Wildfire; large = 5-7", xlarge = 8.9" and above)
- no phones excluded (you can manually filter phones)
- all countries supported
- copy protection is OFF (it was ON before - meaning you cannot move the app to SD, and cannot install it on a Developer Phone or an Unreleased Phone)

So now I am wondering if these 2.3.5 ROMs floating around are meant for a Developer Phone like the Nexus One or Nexus S. I'm rooted and am on CM 7.1.0 RC1 which is 2.3.4, and I can see the app just fine. So I'm wondering what the heck is it with 2.3.5 - somebody else on CM 7.1.0 RC1 on a HTC Desire says his version is 2.3.5!

Does your Settings - About phone - Model number say HTC Desire, or something else?

Also, there is NOTHING on http://developer.android.com about 2.3.5 - as far as Google is concerned, 2.3.5 doesn't exist. Who made this 2.3.5?

I could upgrade my HTC Desire to a CM nightly on 2.3.5 but there is a risk that I will not be able to see all apps, because of the same mysterious problem!

Maybe depends on market version? I'm using 2.3.6 (market version) can still see the Astro app. Btw, I'm using MIUI Au (2.3.5 gingerbread too)

Have he tried cleared cache & data from Market application setting?


About android version, I'm not try to mock/disgrace the developers but those android version can be easily edit in /system/build.prop. (FYI, this is just assumption. I never try to edit nor adjust the build.prop setting)

That's what backup is all about?
Use the latest CWM to backupbecause I heard they changed it's method to backup ROMs which is supposed to be faster. (Haven't tried, just read)

But don't bother doing that, I already tested that you and it works.

I also tested MIUI-Au 2.3.5 for you and it works as well SO..............???????????????????????????

It's not the version issue I think, what phone btw? Could be ROM specific?

awesome, the trending now is bigger and bigger touch screen. large screen become standard for flagship phone.
entry level at least 3", mid-range will be 4" onward now. so flagship or high end, all must be more than that.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5.4", HTC Titan 4.7", Acer Iconia Smart 4.8". and now Nexus Prime 4.65"

What is the maximum size for smart phone, in your opinion? too large is not calling phone anymore but tablet. what's your idea size?

for me, not more than 5".

5" was fine for me. (D Streak) kinda liked the size. Just difficult to keep w/other devices.

Yes, testing my friend Dell Streak 5" before. very nice viewing.
Anyway, it's EOL already. Steak 7 and 10 also not offer world wide. seem like Streak brand name not really success. for those fully rely on stock ROM, no future OS upgraded promise and EOL in short, who gonna buy?

Yeah. Thats why need to wait for more reliable companies to make.

btw 5"-6". if don't want to get Streak 5, then you left only 1 choice: Samsung Galaxy Note

M1 online pre-oder taking already stop. after it's launch, CEO settle all issue or stock ready. might getting my china friend to help import 1 if possible. else gonna check our garage sales...

the Note won't be 3k, some idiot just simply did a direct conversion from euro price, different region will have different pricing.
especially its converted from euro, which is always not been the price for Msians, usually it'll be something around direct conversion of USD price.
so far there's no USD pricing released for the Note yet, but assuming its 750usd,
it will probably be around 2.3~2.5k when it arrives Msia.
