Filco is designed in Japan but manufactured in Taiwan.
Ducky is believe to be designed and manufactured in Taiwan.
Most mechanical keyboard are manufactured in Taiwan or China.
Cherry keyboards on the other hand is manufactured in several places; Germany, Czech Republic and China.

I have mechanical numpads which are OEM from Datacomp and they have much better QC than Ducky. I highly doubt Ducky is OEM from Datacomp but I may be wrong.

If you want the Large "enter", I don't think Filco had this layout. Properly Ducky is your choice now.

Erm... Filco got... the US ASCII layout is that type of "enter" key....

There's no keyboard that wont be shiny after 5 years of usage.
After owning so many mechanical keyboards, I would strongly recommend Filco, Leopold and Cherry.

May i ask what is meant by "shiny"? I try look at the pics by Ripster in GH but i cant see the difference.... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Take a look at your keyboard now especially ''A'' and ''space'' under bright light and i sure you will notice the dif(unless you are using keyboard protector or >1month old keyboard).

Here's a picture of my 1 year old filco with some mildy shiny keys

"Shiny" can be easily described as smooth/oily spots on the key. Most common examples are used rubberdome keyboards.
Cheap rubberdome shine very easily.

Oh... then the "shine" can be cleaned? Since it is like oily spots.... hmm.gif

The Filco Majestouch 2 and Ninja that i found in Viewnet and C-Zone Malaysia mostly the layout is the US ASCII, couldnt find the US ANSI layout.... Got used to the long enter and long backspace.... feel very hard to hit the backspace when it is small like the normal keys...

IMHO, the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition should be the FIRST edition of the Razer BlackWidow, because when gaming, sure got alot sweat and fingerprints even though in air-conditioned environment and glossy finish shouldnt even be implemented in it....
Wondering why Razer like shiny and glossy finish so much sweat.gif sweat.gif

I think the shining occur due to discolored of the coating itself, most occur on AWSD and space bar. sorry if im wrong.

It cant be cleaned. I was describing what the shiny spot look similar to.
Shiny keys are only natural as it's normal wear and tear due to usage.
Unless you are willing to invest in custom-made metal keycaps. Titanium spacebar starts from USD$100.

No, the "shine" surface is actually a kind of gloss finish.

The surface was actually "rough" surface which doesn't shine when it was new. But when you're using it over time, and repeatly pressing the key over and over again, your finger was actually polishing the key over time when you pressing it.

So, after a long period of repetitive using on the key, the key surface will start to become "shine" due to being a smooth/gloss surface.

There are several solutions to this matter, you can try to search for Ripster on geekhack.

Or Links can be below here. Credits to Ripster on Geekhack.
