The coloured keycaps are awesome too bad they are not printed.. I wanted non printed blank keycaps but when it's used by my mom it will be painful cause she is afraid to key in password with blank key..

I can do soldiering (even have all required tools) but over new keyboard like this..

The seller promised 1-1 exchange but need to travel down again to sg.. a bit troublesome

I found pics that show the blue backplate to be more of a powder/sky blue than the electric blue that the promotional picture is showing

After a week of try, I conclude that the white and black colour Ducky 9008 gave a different tactile feel when you type on.

Initially I preferred the black more because I have got used to it, after a week I find myself preferring the white one. The differences is that the black is slight harder while the white is softer but still have the tactile return.

The white ducky feels like red switch with the tactile

Well, at least I know the range between Perodua car to Buggati Veyron and not so much with Mechanical Keyboard. In fact, I completely have no idea on what is the cheapest mechanical keyboard that is available in the market.
*
Cheapest Mech Keyboard I can think of Ducky 1009, was selling less than RM200 excluding shipping before this

The Slightly better range cost around RM300+ which all my mech keyboards cost at that range
Ducky 9008, Leopald FCR500 (I recommend getting this very worthy for the price you pay),

RM400+
Filco, Cherry

and the list goes on

The most widely available mech keyboard
- Razer Blackwidow. I dislike Razer for their poor QC thus not recommending it.

First you must know what you would want
Tactile feedback?
Harder or lighter keystroke register?
Please refer to page one.

For keycaps and other customisation you will not need it first.
After that set on your budget and go on

Well we cant push aside there's good quality membrane keyboard as well.. Although the trend now is the more bling, the keyboard can sell more. Even if the keyboard is so much more expensive

Well, I tend to be the type of consumer that research and buy things that are actually worth their price.
For example, RM599 for a rubber dome G19 or RM259 for G510 are they really worth that much when a Microsoft X4 out performs them at RM150.
There's only one that is close to mechanical keyboard performance. It's the Microsoft X4.
Red backlight, 18-KRO over USB like the Leopold.
*
NKRO is only good for advertising, in real keyboard typing experiencee there's much more other things that matters such as the durability, typing tactile preferences, back lighting (important for some), NKRO (hardly matters for most people).

Most people buy expensive gaming gear to show that they "can"

Too bad that I am not from Taiping. I from Lumut.

I think I going to seek help from my friends who are working in KL. So, can anyone give me the list of the computer shops that selling mechanical keyboards at Lowyat? I will ask them to survey the price and models, and then buy it for me.

Does the POM keycaps on your G80 shines?
I wanted to buy just 1 keyboard
Now I have plenty. If you come across a site called Geekhack or Deskthorithy, get out. Don't surf Taobao for keyboards.
RM250 can get you a nice range of Ducky keyboards. Not sure how much storm sells since his listed price is RRP(?)
but you can try getting from PCHOME

MX browns:
Browns are OOS for the DK1008 and only have chinese keycaps for DK1087

Mx Blues:
DK1008 (RM230~)
http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=9&tm=u
DK1087(RM250~)
http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=1&tm=u
DK1008 from storm88
RM299
Problem with parallel importing is that you don't have warrranty.

Otherwise buy a Razer Blackwidow or save up the difference for the DK1008 from storm88

I didn't go there but I have 3 mech keyboards now haha. 2 of them sitting in their original box and not using ... my parents not used to the none printed ...

I opened up my ducky 9008, need some information how to repair my failed LED

When the LED is light on (Connected parallel with another keyboard)

When CAPLOCKS LED On - Multimeter measured 1.2v
When SCROLL LOCK LED On - Mutlimeter measured 1.2v
When NUMPAD LED On - Multimeter measured 0.9V on the failing LED

When it's off All terminal report 0v measurement

Does that indicate a dead LED? I thought it's a lousy soldering job and c causes bad contact but actually the board have some very neat soldering job!

defect LED? or you're on different OS?
cause the LED on my PLU failed to lights up when I'm on UNIX but it works fine on WINDOWS
*
On Windows, I have 2 Ducky 9008, I connect them together at the same time,
As those key sync with pc,

when you press cap lock on the other keyboard, the other caplock would light up too,
I can confirm that the other keyboard LED is working, measured with a multimeter it return a different reading too

The sure way of testing it is to desolder it, then plug it into ur Multimeter for LED testing and see whether it lights up, or you can just wire 2x 1.5V cells and briefly touch the legs of the LEDs if you aren't so keen on desoldering.

Otherwise, if your multimeter has a diode test function, turn that on, and measure the voltage across the working LED and the non working LED.
*
wont 2x1.5V excessive for the LED? I would try it later, thanks for the tips for measuring LED.

I work in Automotive lighting industry we only measure LED in forward voltage actually.

In the case of broken LED I would be in a headache too.. since the LED is only like.. 2 or 3mm
