Shiny isn't that bad actually, other than looking bad, most people around you probably won't even notice it.
My finger tip isn't sensitive to that sense that I need to feel the matte texturing to know what I am doing.. I am using a super lousy rubberdome + super shinny keyboard back in office.. I did a typing test in it, my WPM drop from 80 to 60 lol Got some new toy, not too happy with it.. never thought it would get scratch so easily buy the key puller.. + the white is a bit yellowish.. The scratch at the enter key.. the keyboard is unused.. never typed before.. zzz a bit deformed too This post has been edited by Sky.Live: Sep 1 2011, 02:38 AM |

QUOTE(Squarebox @ Sep 1 2011, 05:04 PM) Translators are not perfect but I assume that "keyboard body with leather paint coating" = Satin painted finish on the casing. But I may be wrong... I believe most keycap have surface treatment coating from my plastic injection working experience else I don't think they can withstand our abuse.. The shinny part is where plastic's texture gone wear and tearConsidering that the quickfire is most likely an OEM from Costar, they will mostly like have the same type of "coated" keycaps which Filco have. If you have notice, Filco keycaps are said to be coated as well. Thanks to the word "gaming", almost everything now is rubber coated now. And I hate it!! QUOTE(Squarebox @ Sep 1 2011, 05:21 PM) I would have wanted it if not of the FN replacing window key (much annoyance for me), Tenkeyless.. I would rather want it.. although I don't use it that often..But hell it's sexy I just paid a visit to the shop you visit haha.. Not too expensive or cheap, but everything is in the box, din ask the boss to open and play xD |

QUOTE(rurushu @ Sep 2 2011, 02:23 AM) LOL... me also RUBBER DO NOT WANT!!! Else who would buy a new mouse even their mouse don't break down? During my Engineering Course - Design module, we are forced to create a product with specific life cycle so sales would come..Btw, i was wondering why they coat those so-called gaming mice with rubber anyway? Is it a compulsory for rubberized surface be implemented if it is a high end mouse??? Wonder who gets the idea of coating them with rubber in the first place... Razer works this pretty good haha |

QUOTE(Squarebox @ Sep 2 2011, 03:29 AM) Personally, I'm picky about the type of stabilizer used for bigger keys. haha if the Leopold cost only 345 I think no harm buy 1 and play with itBoth stabilizer works well but they each have their pros and cons. Filco - Costar stabilizer retains the feel of the switch but changing keycaps is more troublesome. Leopold - Cherry stabilizer make changing keycaps a breeze but it makes the switch feel different. Both are great keyboard regardless. In Singapore, Filco and Leopold are the same price of SGD$179. Without a doubt, I would pick the Filco. In Malaysia, Filco are RM4XX and Leopold are RM345. Leopold are definitely a great buy. If money is not a problem, just go with the Filco. Added on September 2, 2011, 10:48 am QUOTE(rurushu @ Sep 2 2011, 02:39 AM) Offcourse there's QC, else they might be not working at all out of the box.you see, QC works this way. imagine you are the worker 1) Boss this key a bit off, let it go? Boss: aiya this 1 won't do any harm, just release it 2) Boss this switch doesn't feel like the others? Boss: you sure it don't feel like others? Do you feel that you are losing your bonus too? 3) Boss this keyboard seems a bit uneven? Boss: throw it away, we only want perfect parts 4) Boss this keyboard won't work at all.. Boss: hmm maybe there's ppl who too busy to exchange, let put it through and hope for it. That's how concept of QC works, even you have world class machinery, error still could happen and it's QC that makes the final quality great. That's what I learned from working in manufacturing line QUOTE(storm88 @ Sep 2 2011, 10:16 AM) how about the Ducky? However it once gave you bad experience on quality issue I am not pro on Mech keyboard like but so far I'm satisfied because no comparison xDyou should had give them another chance too Already have 2 Ducky This post has been edited by Sky.Live: Sep 2 2011, 10:48 AM |

The typing sensation with the white and black Ducky 9008 is different.. somehow the white feels less satisfying.. Felt softer and more linear although both being same model and carrying the same switch |

QUOTE(zandara @ Sep 3 2011, 04:19 PM) Is it the brown switch? Probably the keycaps could affect the the feels. I wanna get 1 unit from him too, worried about not getting used to it, i try tapping on blue switch back few days.. seems really loud lolAnyway, just got my leopold red switch from cyclone. It is great keyboard. Still need sometime to get used on red switch. It is softer than brown. This post has been edited by Sky.Live: Sep 3 2011, 07:54 PM |

I do own both of them before, Copperheard words fine how ever it's age is double of Deathadder. I have a pad printed rubberdome (Compaq bundled system like 15 years ago) it's solid like a wall, the pad print coating is clear in colour. It also creates a 3 dimensional feeling when you touch it, rather pleasant one.
My previous few old keyboards printing never fades even years of using, my first encountered with fading keyboards start during when I got the IBM bundled rubber dome keyboard.. |

QUOTE(Squarebox @ Sep 6 2011, 11:31 AM) I know that Leopold are suppose to be 18KRO but on geekhack no one could reconfirm if I was right or wrong. Just Receive my Leopold FC500R/EB, can you share the testing software? I will post the result tonightAfter hearing this, I retested the Leopold FC500R on all the different HUB ports on my computer. I faced 6KRO on 2/4 of my USB ports on the front of my computer. The other 2 performed with 18KRO. USB at the back all are 18KRO. No idea why... Can anyone get the same results? I can post a video about this occurrence if needed Thumbs up for Lowyat for the good response from users. I cant blame Geekhack as there aren't much FC500R on there whereas in Singapore, I heard from the distributor that over 15 pieces are sold but no one cares to re-confirm. Most Singaporean users are selfish and do not contribute. Feels damn solid compared to my ducky haha.. Now I know what is a solid keyboard, before this ducky is already damn solid in comparison to my older keyboard QUOTE(Human10 @ Sep 6 2011, 12:25 PM) As what rurushu said, my pad printing is covered with a very good coating, even impossible to peel with sharp object(not intentionally tho). |

When I visit funan, the price listed for peripheral is rather slightly expensive than Malaysia counterpart, I think mainly due to the 7% GST.
Oh ya, the Leopald doesn't work with MACs My WPM dropped a lot with the red switch > < This post has been edited by Sky.Live: Sep 7 2011, 12:36 AM |

QUOTE(rurushu @ Sep 7 2011, 12:47 AM) Sky.Live, you bought 2 mech keyboard in one week, isnt that abit "uh!!!" to your wallet? haha cant manage to source rabbit, any it don't work over MAC (usually those who can do a lot of KRO over USB don't work over MAC)I was wondering why you get 2 same but different color Ducky, i thought your white one is the Year of Rabbit L.E. version.... P/S: Mechanical Keyboard is relatively cheap to compare than gaming peripheral which don't last and got replaced real fast. I would buy one more keyboard I guess, a Filco Blue switch this time xD. But not in a short while Only switch not interested is black This post has been edited by Sky.Live: Sep 7 2011, 12:51 AM |
