QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Sep 6 2011, 11:50 PM)
I went to surf VR-Zone for a bit and found out the Leopolds cost 179 SGD.
Only Cyclone knows how much the Distro at our neighbouring country is making

Edit: just realize 179 SGD is RRP, @squarebox, how much are they going for. actually?
*
Refer to bottom

QUOTE(Squarebox @ Sep 7 2011, 12:01 AM)
They are sold at 169 SGD at the recent IT fair but it cost 179 SGD to buy from retail shops.
As mentioned before, things are generally more expensive in Singapore even thought we dont need any shipping or postage.
Distro here are very very greedy...
*
For this, i can't confirm thou, because Singapore branch might be using a much more expensive shipping, thus hiking up the price, But i cannot remove the fact that certain people are greedy.(maybe me? =X )

QUOTE(rurushu @ Sep 7 2011, 12:10 AM)
Oh... thanks for the answer cyclone, was trying to confirm it so that i didnt make any mistake when i buy keycaps  notworthy.gif
*
No problem.

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Sep 7 2011, 12:32 AM)
When I visit funan, the price listed for peripheral is rather slightly expensive than Malaysia counterpart, I think mainly due to the 7% GST.

Oh ya, the Leopald doesn't work with MACs

My WPM dropped a lot with the red switch > <
*
Thanks for confirming that Leopold don't work for MACs, i am currently suggesting Leopold keyboard have multi OS support in future and hope for that to happen. AND MULTIMEDIA KEY!!.

Squarebox i need to ask something about mionix zibal 60, the key is illuminated right? but i saw the technical specification on http://www.mionix.net/page.php?al=zibal60 .

Laser printed keycaps WTF!?

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Sep 7 2011, 05:57 PM)
FILCO WASD keys are non coated, which explains why it fades so quickly.

I wonder what they use for the coating. Maybe I can spray some and prevent my WASDs from fading like yours.
*
i'm not sure thou, but i prefer some coating like car wooden steering, damn those coating last forever. would like to have those coating on my keycap as well. tongue.gif tongue.gif

Hmm.. i see, so they used laser treatment to remove the additional paint? i don't really get the point, since any key that has been lasered treatment on surface will get brownish/yellowish over time.( the white area which has been burned)

Or maybe just light enough to just remove the paint and did not burn the keycap itself. Anyway, thanks for explaining it.

Added : Fixed

Added Again : The Keycap Puller has arrived. just a update incase no one knows about it.

I think that I may order PBT keycaps from taobao.
keycaps might be blank and ESC~F12 keys with funky designs. lol

thanks for your info smile.gif)
*
Double-Shot Keycap with Funky designs are rare, and mostly only available in Geekhack, and not taobao. For Taobao, there are several designs which has transformer autobot and decepticons, but they are not double shot. So if you're finding Funky designs double shot keycap, go hunt at geekhack. which i usually do....(i am waiting for clickclack's ice keycap...)

Taobao rarely has any funky design double shot keycap. But instead Taobao has alot of PBT, maybe some rare POM Keycap.

I suffer from hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) and usually when I game you'd see sweat dripping off the desk. sweat.gif I need a keyboard that can be easily cleaned. I cannot afford to remove each key cap to clean the keyboard. Is mechanical keyboard totally not for me? I was playing with one of the Razer KB today and the mechanical keys seems to have rather light upward pressure/friction.
*
i have minor issue on this, but the safest is that prepare a cloth next to you, when you feel your hand are wet, it is best to wipe it with the cloth and keep your hand dry. just keeping your hand dry after each rest time will be fine. unless you're doing endurance racing like 50 laps or 100 laps, then i don't know how to help with this. Pause game? LOL

*
you can come to my place which is in taiping, or Kuala Lumpur Lowyat area for testing. depends you live in which area.

Lowyat is for testing Filco, my place is for testing Leopold. not the same keyboard thou. But it is still mechanical keyboard.

One of the main reasons why people think mechanical keyboard are overprice is because they don't know what's contained inside the mechanical keyboard itself.

For everyone's knowledge, membrane keyboard only have a small basic circuit board which is on left top side of your keyboard(LED Area, Number Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock LED Indicator)

If you opens your membrane keyboard and sees inside, you could only see 104 membrane dome shape pressure pad and a thin layer of plastic circuitry.

For Mechanical keyboard comparison, For 104 Mechanical Cherry MX Switch Alone already cost round like RM180+ (104 switch x RM1.XX )
Plus the big solid circuit board behind the switch as well as steel plated to reinforce the keyboard solidness.

If you think Mechanical keyboard are really expensive. how about comparing the parts that membrane keyboard and mechanical keyboard has.

im looking for a gaming keyboard above rm100+ any recommendation?
*
excuse me, may i know what type of gaming are you interested? mechanical keyboard or membrane keyboard. For Mechanical keyboard that is RM100+ the choice are kinda very very limited or to none since you'll have to add more budget to get a mechanical keyboard.(for RM100~200, i think the only choice would be ALPS switch Mechanical keyboard from Ducky))

If you may interested in backlit, mechanical keyboard with backlit feature are around RM250+ which is way too overbudget thou.

*
Backlit Mechanical Keyboard are all RM 300 above, better quality are RM400~500. Except KBC Poker, which is RM200~250. but the cons are it's a small keyboard for portable use.

Unless you're waiting for KBC Poker 100% which is fullsize. But i think price tag would be higher as well.
