From my current experience, I would say cherry red.

However, I would still prefer typing on cherry brown.

Try not to bottom up when typing so sound can never be an issue.

Cherry Blacks, those do a good job stopping you from bottoming out, plus they are much silent too.

I have used both cherry black and red switch. IMHO, red switch is as quiet as black switch PROVIDED that you do not bottom-out on the latter. For me, I've being using red switch for like more than 8 months and I still bottom-out like maybe half the time. But, if you can get used to the light weight of red switch, it won't be a problem for you.

bottom out: press the key all the way down
If you're using a mechanical keyboard, you don't need to press those keys all the way down.

PLUM red is not bad as well, less than 200 to get 1.
the only drawback is the design of the board itself D:

@rurushu: Touch type doesn't mean not bottoming out. It means you type without looking at the keyboard.

Btw same here, I've been using rubber dome all this while and need some time to adapt to the enjoyable "not bottoming out typing method" which only mech KB can provide.

Oh.... i see, i thought touch type is "touching the keys softly" ROFL....
But yeah, i can type without looking at the keyboard, but still, i put quite some force when typing, mostly bottoming out and mistook the bottoming out sound as "tactile" and "clicky" all this time... feels like an idiot after reading the first post few weeks ago... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif
Yeah, gonna find some blue cherry as my first mech keyboard.... After someone recommend some, i decided to look into PLUM keyboards. Still at the researching phase.... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
