Other than the colour, what's the different between that and a regular black Filco Majestouch-2 keyboard?

I want to get palm rests / wrist rests for my Filco keyboards.
Where can I get some decent ones? Won't mind gel or leather. Thanks. |

I have just bought a cheapo wrist rest for my Filco keyboards for home and office.
So far quite comfortable. However, I reckon the gel will get soft in time. |

Kinda funny to see my colleagues reactions when I told them that my Filco keyboard cost RM400.
However, I am very happy using my Filco brown switch keyboard at work. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Aug 14 2011, 10:21 AM) I never told people about my FILCOs, but my relative's faces when I told them how much I got the Model M from Taobao was priceless. A forumer once told me that his ex-employer threw away 20 to 30 units of those. At first they were like : Wow such old keyboard, how much you got it for? And then they were like : You got it for Rm100?? Are you nuts? OT: @WSL, try call Dell and see if they are willing to refund you the difference from the coupon discount. Should be doable if you your monitor is still within the return time window |

My keyboard history (chronologically arranged):
1. Logitech Clavier Multimedia Keyboard USB (still works today, probably more than 6 years) 2. Logitech G15v2 (2 years plus, now not using) 3. Filco full size keyboard, redswitch for home (bought this year) 4. Filco full size keyboard, brownswitch for office (bought this year) I doubt I will be changing keyboards for awhile. Unless, my Filco keyboards go bad. |

QUOTE(rurushu @ Aug 21 2011, 11:39 PM) Yeah, that site is kinda "evil"... but lucky im a lurker there... not yet create account, so still "safe" on the line.... Compu-Zone.Which shop? No other Ninja? Was aiming for Filco Ninja with Blue switch 104 keys (but so far not seeing any, only saw MX Black or MX Brown in Garage Sales) after thinking that the WiNDy ALFEEL HG II is too... err... "expensive" Brown switch. |

I would like to know will there be any difference (in terms of feel) among brown switch keyboards from Filco, Ducky, Leopold and etc.
Or whether the feel would be more or less consistent among different brands. |

QUOTE(Top-Gun @ Aug 22 2011, 11:59 AM) Filco for the springy Shift/Backspace/Enter keys (known as Filco stabilizers). Thanks.Cherry/Leopold for the cherry stabilizers (or satellite stabilitizers?) I prefer the Filco much over Cherry's design. Other than that, most of them should be the same. Full NKRO can only be achieved over P/S2 so most of the keyboards should suit you if you're only using USB.. and P/S2 is non hot-swappable as far as I'm concerned. Then there's the difference of plate mounted vs PCB mounted. The latter being easier to produce and also easy to desolder out switches for repair or changing other types of switches. Plate mounted keyboards have a more sturdy feel (still quite subjective if you type very light) but the resonance of the keystrokes are more 'muted' and maybe 'deeper frequency'. Also, is Filco / other brands plate mounted or PCB mounted? |

QUOTE(dragorc @ Aug 24 2011, 12:56 AM) i read at front page, mx black was considered good for gaming, but how bout the mx red? mx red only available on special or limited edi keyboard, but the statement say most ppl don find mx red really good for gaming. im act searching a switch tat both good for typing and gaming. hope someone which ady experience wit those switch to help me to choose. tnx Using mx-red switches Filco for gaming.Very soft, sorta like membrane keyboards. Have yet to use mx-black switches before. However, I tend to prefer my mx-brown switches Filco. |
