QUOTE(yongtjunkit @ Jan 9 2019, 02:46 PM) Was able to receive analog/ digital tv from top floor( near window- not very good/stable), go to ground floor difficult to get signal( 90%+ unusable ) analog being more usuable Need to find the direction, right pointed to the transmission tower. Maybe can consider to buy a new indoor digital antenna, it's not expensive. This post has been edited by work_tgr: Jan 9 2019, 07:40 PM |

I gave up with MYTV as signal reception here in Sibu Sarawak is too weak and unsteady. I use satellite and TVbox(but government is going to ban it π)

QUOTE(joshhd @ Jan 31 2019, 10:55 PM) You aim at which satellite to watch what channels? Chinasat and apstar for china FTA channels. For Malaysia channels, I will use playtv@unifi apps, NJOI and etc, mainly for news. MYTV reception in my area is unreliable. And btw, Malaysia FTA channels is sucks. It is considered normal for a Malaysian to not watch those channels. |

4k broadcasting is really a joke if you ever test MYTV signal reception in Sarawak, especially my area at Sibu. Combo box some more? ASTRO and MYTV cooperate in the future har?

For the new decoder, I guess the apps must be pre-installed apps such as YouTube ( a typical combo DVB-S2/T2 decoder). Users should not be able to install Android apps because of internal storage limit (probably less than 2GB). Further more, Android box might be banned.

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 3 2019, 03:19 PM) AVS+, definitely no... If you want satellite receiver that supports AVS+, then you can just get a China satellite receiver that supports AVS+... QUOTE(nag @ Feb 3 2019, 05:15 PM) AsiasatΒ 3S retired, replaced by Asiasat 7 (in operation now @ 105.5'E) Yeah Asiasat 3s I mentioned earlier is actually Asiasat 7, but [url=https://www.lyngsat.com/AsiaSat-7.html]https://www.lyngsat.com/AsiaSat-7.html[ /url] no info about MYTV for both C and Ku band. My mistakeThe MyTV you saw in the chart, it is for South Asia channel, unrelated to Msia MYTV and I don't think M'sia MYTV platform will not utilised C-band for downlink. So it's Asiasat 9, 122E, kU band (diameter <0.66m). I should add one more LNB to my NJOI satellite dish.

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2019, 01:26 AM) You mean use your existing Njoi dish to receive both Njoi and MYTV? Yeah, you are right, both are quite different in directions, too bad. Any chance MYTV is broadcasted in C band?Technically you can't. Astro/Njoi is on Measat 3/3a/3b 91.5 Β°E, while myFreeview is on Asiasat 9 122 Β°E One dish is West, another is East. You can't combine both into one cuz both are totally opposite direction. You need separate dishes, for both Njoi/Astro and MYTV. |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Feb 16 2019, 07:54 AM) Too bad x2 πTo get satellite broadcast, installation for both Astro /NJOI and MYTV is mostly the same (except for the required decoder), so I guess both installation fees are almost the same. If I will have to choose one, I will definitely go for Astro/NJOI cause it has more channels. Both are 'vulnerable' under bad weather. Both are full with CJWOW shop. π This post has been edited by work_tgr: Feb 16 2019, 09:08 AM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2019, 07:24 PM) It is on ABS 2 75 Β°E. MYTV uses C band as their satellite backhaul for their TV channels. It downlink from satellite to the main digital TV transmitters site's big satellite dish, so that viewers will be able to receive the channels via DTT platform. So you can say that, the myFreeview channels you're watching on DTT myFreeview now, is actually being "relayed" from satellite. MYTV have to use reliable satellite backhaul like C band instead of Ku band, as there's no rain fade problems. Don't get excited yet. The satellite signal reception is very very weak till the point where the usual 6 feet dish won't be able to detect the channels. You need a satellite dish as big as 12 feet (3.65 metres) to receive it. MYTV tries to keep this info as confidential as possible, meaning they don't really want the public to know la.. And even if you have 12 feet dish and you can receive the signal, don't expect it will be free-to-air (FTA)... This is what my reliable source tells me, but I can't 100% confirm it, but do tell me if you have more accurate info about it. Thanks for the info. Where can I get a 12 feet dish? Hahaha.. Pointless to get one just for MYTV π€£ QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2019, 07:24 PM) So how about the Asiasat 9 one? Well, MYTV just uplink the channels to Asiasat 9 satellite, and then downlink again to viewers who wish to receive MYTV channels via satellite (Ku band). The Ku band signal from Asiasat 9 is pretty strong to receive on a 65cm dish, but it is encrypted, so you need MYTV box to watch it. Encrypted channels are supposed to be premium programmes, movies or HD, no for CJWOW Shop la. π€£» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2019, 08:51 PM) I would say, nobody will go look for 12 feet dish... And definitely, after convert to MYR, it will costs few thousands... So just forget about it. LOL... Receive it via DTT is good enough.Β Agree, not worthy to buy an expensive big parabola for the purpose of watching MYTV. I heard news that my area will have a new DTT transmission tower soon and it's near to my house. Arhh... At last π QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2019, 08:51 PM) Not necessary. Sooner or later, it's available through the access of iptv / cccam/ bliss.. Etc etc. We can watch encrypted channels all round the world as long as you have the right decoder and internet. Anything could happen in our bolehland π You see, 11490 V 45000, this transponder on Asiasat 9, belongs to MYTV, so basically they can decide whether the channels is encrypted or not. The thing for sure is, if they make it free-to-air, many would opt for not buying MYTV hybrid DVB-S2+T2 box anymore cuz.they can just buy any compatible universal satellite receiver, and also like those cheap China ones, to receive it. And yalaa, not certified by MCMC and don't have the "MCMC" logo one. And once again, MYTV rugi again if this happens...Β It is the same concept as as Astro on why all RTM and Media Prima channels are encrypted on Astro. And also, the Asiasat 9 satellite's Ku band beam that MYTV uses, also covers entire Indonesia. So, broadcast content rights could be an issue too. ![]() Source: Asiasat (https://www.asiasat.com/sites/default/files/asiasat-9_0.pdf) And yes~ myFreeview (MYTV) channels via satellite can be received in Indonesia and also with strong signal reception, if you smuggle in MYTV's hybrid DVB-S2+T2 box into the country and enjoy it yourself. Duh, Malaysia FTA channels so nice to watch meh? Maybe just some 'premium' channels are encrypted, CJWOW SHOP should be FTA π This post has been edited by work_tgr: Feb 17 2019, 09:47 AM |
