I think the normal installation fee for both MYTV satellite reception and NJOI is about the same. If people are forced to too choose between them, obviously most people will choose NJOI because it has more channels and could be upgraded to Astroto watch premium channels. So how MYTV could compete with NJOI?

These exclusive channels can be encrypted and the rest channels should be FTA.


It's like double standards now, DTT is FTA while DTH isn't. Weird strategy. MYTV wouldn't make much profit by selling authorised decoder and antenna/satellite dish as Astro is the greatest competition.

Just keep it for mytv reception. There are different types of TVbox in the market from low to high price, from cap Ayam to branded one. It depends on what you are looking for. At most time, good one is always pricy. For moderate use you can get combo set S2+T2 below RM100, which come with Biss, PowerVu, cccam, etc or STB T2 below RM50. (of course is China modified)

Good choice as gtmedia (previously called freesat) has its own forum where many updates are available to download. Not like cheap China modified decoder which has almost no firmware updates.

Are you talking about receiving Astro and MYTV at the same satellite dish? That is not possible as Astro from Measat 91.5E (towards West) while MYTV from Asiasat9 122.0E (towards East). However, rotatable parabolic dish is possible by joining multi C and KU LNBs with Diseqc switch. You must use original MYTV hybrid T2 S2 decoder cause MYTV satellite channels are encrypted.

Oh great, infamous 'small gas'... . Just add one more Rg6 cable +lnb specifically for MYTV. And I won't surprise if MYTV decoder only support KU band. 😒

Can give it a try but it has to be rotatable with actuator installed if you want to watch channels from different satellites or else you have to rotate the dish direction manually.

Those lnb up to quad because the cables are connect to multi decoders or signals receiving from close satellites for example chinasat 11 and measat 3.

If you really call, operator will ask if you are using original decoder as if the problem of not receiving signals through DTT is caused by that.

Basically no difference between ori MYTV T2 and other China brand T2 decoder. If you previously could receive the signal but now couldn't, it's mostly signal problem. Try to rotate or relocate antenna and scan again. Or just wait another few days for the signal to back to normal.

Just check witn satellite finder of which position will get the finest signal quality. Most China S2/ S2T2 combo STB price around RM80 could support up to 4 LND or more. One thing about multi LNB, signal reception depends on your location and size/type of satellite dish, like my location in Sarawak, KU band LNB could only get signals from Measat 3/3a and Chinasat11 (and Asiasat9, should be ) with Astro satellite dish (60cm).

Exactly. This is the first question one should ask. Like I can receive lots of FTA channels from Indonesia, Arab, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand but I wouldn't even watch them, I prefer to watch China drama dan blockbuster movies so I will focus on those satellites with these programmes.

Now I am interested to test Asiasat 9 for MYTV , just a kind of self satisfaction to receive the signal even though it's encrypted 😂 and not watchable with my ahem decoder.

Funny thing is that many receivers of free STB are selling away the 'free gift' with the price of RM50 to RM150. Our kind and generous donor, Green Packet, don't sue MYTV la, sue those sellers instead 🤣

That's why many people sell MYTV STB at Facebook. They get free MYTV STB but they sell it. Money is more useful.
