QUOTE(YoungMan @ Nov 2 2018, 10:33 AM) Actually rather than giving to this incompetent MyTv to manage, they can just let astro manage it with NJOI. At the same time let other players compete on Pay TV service. Yeah, Just free NJOI for everyone la, buyer only need to pay decoder which comes with both DVB and satellite tuner and installation price. This post has been edited by work_tgr: Nov 2 2018, 10:43 AM |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Nov 2 2018, 01:16 PM) RIP my budget DVB-T2 box bought from shopee Sell it before too late. Just joking. ^ Hope it doesn't happen. Analog transmission is extremely tough to get perfect image quality - snow, ghost, etc. IMO, analog FM radio must stay. But for tv, it's DVB-S2 and -T2. I think digital tv is definitely be implemented but maybe no more managed by MYTV, by other parties such as Astro or TM |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Nov 2 2018, 04:13 PM) TM will ask us to subscribe internet. Good point... But government can also use sms or radio to announce important news. May be analogue TV will continue forever in Malaysia. Who knows.Astro will ask us to buy njoi. People who live at area with poor internet will suffer. My area doesn't have Unifi, Celcom is congested (too slow to stream YouTube 144p), other telco poor signal. Dish - tiny Astro dish too poor for our weather. It also renders all DVB-T2 chip in all TV useless. Terrestrial TV is a government social responsibility, important to spread emergency news and propaganda. Hence, need a good company to maintain it. |

No money right? Each account pay some money, say RM100 to 'reactivate' DDTV for whole life like NJOI. Problem solved.... Hopefully

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Nov 9 2018, 01:10 PM) No. Money might end up in someone's pocket. This is their project, if they fail means they fail, no need to ask rakyat pay for their failure. One more week, our YB Gobind will make an announcement. Let's see how 😀This is back like in the era of licence for TV. In the end it cost more to the gov to collect payment. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Nov 9 2018, 05:43 PM) Huh.. I agree. They are in discussion to solve problem, all we can do is to wait for public announcement by next week. BSH already reduced.. Now extra deduction for MYTV... More issues later on... Better give TM or another company to run MYTV operations... At least the shutdown of transmitter can be solved somehow... |

So... Shall we have public fundraising such like Tabung Harapan for government to build new DTV transmission towers, network etc etc? we can easily get up to millions. Government can rent out new facilities for income while We enjoy UHD movies 😁😁

QUOTE(Wobblyblob @ Nov 12 2018, 03:20 AM) Any news about the planned Chinese channels from 4 operators like Enjoy TV, Green Packet + HK Broadcaster and another 2 companies? While MYTV debt dispute is not settled, all DTV plans will be postponed / cancelled. Heard they were going to have between 16 - 32 new Chinese channels from these operators/TV stations. If plans materialise soon maybe by Chinese New Year 2019, then good, more revenue for MYTV to pay up their debts by the time the analog switchoff dateline comes. Also more channels for MYTV viewers and fans to watch, making MYTV a more interesting platform. Iḿ sure if those channels come on air more Chinese people will start buying MYTV decoders. However, from time to time, you will see advertisement of Myfreeview on NTV7 but most of us couldn't get any signals. How funny is that. I am waiting for our YB to make public announcement about Malaysia's future terrestrial TV, hopefully it's not going be a disappointed one.
