I'm not sure is this the official analogue switch off, or just their usual daily off air time, as I'm confused on TV2 Facebook post of the ASO postponement to 20 Aug for Central and Southern Region.

19 August 2019:

12.30am:
Ulu Kali: TV3 shows test card with test tone. Went off air 2-3 minutes later.
Bkt Sg Besi: TV3 shows colour bar with test tone. Goes off air few minutes after Ulu Kali went off air.

1am:
Bukit Sungai Besi: all eems has switched off all analogue stations (TV1, TV2, TV3, 8TV, TV9) except NTV7, which is still showing test card with test tone.

1.08am:
Ulu Kali: 8TV has gone off air. NTV7 showing the usual NTV7 test card with test tone, while TV9 showing colour bars with test tone. TV1 and TV2 still on air.
Bkt Sg Besi: TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9 has gone off air. TV1 and TV2 still on air.

In conclusion for now, only TV1 and TV2 is on air on analogue. Media Prima ones has off air (not sure if it's ASO).

On digital TV, all FTA stations are still showing programmes as usual, as opposed to analogue TV.

Well, its just my findings for now... I'm curious to see how our Malaysian analogue broadcast being switched off... I'm not sure if this is really ASO or just daily midnight off air. Now my "excitement" to see how it switches off, are kinda died off...
I'll just tune to analogue TV later morning and see how lo...

Drats!! Telekom Malaysia HyppTV/UnifiTV is going to stop airing RTL CBS Entertainment or Blue Ant Entertainment channel.

That is a very good channel, why are they going to stop it?

They did the same thing to other good channels like the Sony Channel and Syfy Channel, which are all my very favourite channels including Blue Ant Entertainment.

Even sports channels like HyppSports 1,2,3,4,5,6 have all been taken away from us.

I hope TM HyppTV/UnifiTV, ABANDON ALL PLANS to cancel Blue Ant Entertainment channel and bring back The Sony Channel and Syfy channel as well as all the Hyppsports channels as many people I know who have HyppTV and UnifiTV IPTV (me included) are complaining.

Furthermore the playback or Interactive TV function for the EPG can only select and view or binge and watch shows from the past 1 week.
Sometime back you could select and view shows from the schedule from the past 2 weeks. TM, please make it capable to select and play from the past 2 weeks.

Even the damn Teletext mode or Interactive TV additional functions are not working, local and global news, sports, business, entertaintment news as well as horoscope, weather, flight information etc is not updated. Please update all of it, please.
*

Hmm... This topic not related to digital TV... But nvm.
If TM decided to cease Blue Ant Entertainment and Blue Ant Extreme, they must have some reasons to do so. It could be viewership related, or business agreements that both TM and Blue Ant could not deal with.
No matter how much you hate it, you got to accept it when the time comes where the channel really ceases. No matter how much you complain to them, they're not gonna bother you or just give you the typical reply of "Thank you for the feedback, we'll inform this to the relevant department...".
Trust me, I've experienced something like this before. You're gonna make yourself feel depressed for dwelling on something that you can't control.

Both Sony Channel and Syfy Channel itself, is being ceased, not Unifi TV cease the channel.
Meaning, Sony Channel and Syfy Channel is no longer exist even in other countries pay TV providers, because the channel provider has stopped and ceased the channel long ago.
If the channel itself becomes no longer exist, how could Unifi TV provide that channel?

I have no much comment on those interactive features on Unifi TV. Cuz those features are known to be not commonly and widely used by Unifi TV viewers.
So don't be too surprised if the feature appears to be not so up to date, or problematic, or not working properly.
TM are dying hard to save costs now. I don't think they have that much attention to focus those minor things that majority of customers rarely or didn't even use it, or don't even know it exists.

The analog broadcast still airing, means after midnight it will be actual ASO.
*

Yes. I've checked this morning. All analogue broadcasts is on air as usual. Earlier night's off air is just the usual daily off air occurs during midnight. Oh well.... 🤷🏼‍♂

I've observed the analogue off air earlier, and I'll try to observe the ASO later midnight (hope this is really happening). I hope there will be no more postponement on ASO, be it for central and southern region or nationwide.
If the broadcasters find that they've tried their best to inform viewers that analogue broadcast is switching off, either through news or TV squeeze back message on TV3 (although I personally think is not that enough, as compared to Singapore's), then they should just go ahead and make the historic move to switch it off already. Seriously, Malaysia has been postponed ASO too many times in the past.

Anyone here, if you're interested, do observe and watch analogue broadcast again for the final time tonight and look how the analogue TV broadcasts being switch off. Once it's off, it'll gone forever.

can anyone record and upload to youtube the farewell moment of transformation from analog to digital ?
*

I plan to do that actually, although I only have 1 TV set. Unlike some YouTube videos I see on other countries ASO, they show you multiple small TV sets in the same video frame to show you how ASO being carried out across different channels.

But my analogue TV reception is kinda poor and has analogue ghosting (double image, shadows). Anyhow, I'll try to record and upload whenever I can. No guarantee, but I'll try.

Anyone here reading these posts on this forum topic, if you can, do record and upload the ASO moment on all channels whenever possible, especially if you're from different states. It's only "one take". Once you missed it, then bye bye.

Guys, when use manual search how long it will take?

Reason i ask, because i use auto search about minute show no program. But when i go for channel 45, it take few seconds then show me no program again.

So fast within few seconds it scan all? Or any part i did wrong?

I stay at Setapak condo, by right quite near to station. I try indoor cheap antenna and master antenna.. both also nothing...
*

KL area, manual search 666MHz and 698MHz. If you manual search the exact frequency, you'll get the channels in seconds. Almost no need to wait long.

Your indoor antenna, is it require any external power source, like is it the one that need electricity to power it up? If yes, make sure the Antenna Power setting is set to On. If not, make sure it's set to Off.

Have you tried relocate and realign your indoor antenna? Can take pic of your antenna, and possibily your balcony view to see if there's any obstructions. As for master antenna, if u can't get any digital TV channels, you got to contact your building management to see if the centralise antenna supports digital TV. Cuz if not, they got to upgrade it. If they don't wanna upgrade, you got use own antenna then.

The TV3's TV squeeze-back analog shutdown message now, are no longer showing today's cessation date?:
user posted image
As you can see, the yellow text of "19 OGOS 2019" is no longer there.

Translation:
"Analogue TV broadcast will end for central and southern region of Peninsular Malaysia"
"Please migrate to myFreeview digital broadcast"

Log of analogue TV reception on 20 August 2019:

12am: TV9 Bkt Sg Besi went off air, while TV9 G. Ulu Kali shows colour bar with test tone. Whether is the actual ASO for TV9 or just daily off air, I don't know. TV3 Bkt Sg Besi still showing TV squeezeback as usual, even prior 12am.

Around 12.20am, TV squeeze back is no longer shown on TV3 Bkt Sg Besi during Nightline news and commercials. Before this, the squeezeback is still there, even during commercials.

12:34am: After Muslim prayer and Negaraku national anthem song ends on TV3, TV3 G. Ulu Kali shows test card with test tone, while Bkt Sg Besi shows colour bar with test tone.

12:35am: TV3 G. Ulu Kali has went off air. TV3 Bkt Sg Besi still showing colour bar with test tone. The rest of the analogue channels still on air as usual, including TV1 and TV2 from KL tower.

12:41am: TV3 Bkt Sg Besi has went off air. TV1, TV2, NTV7, 8TV are still on air as usual, TV9 G. Ulu Kali still showing test card with test tone.

12:57am: NTV7 for both G. Ulu Kali and Bkt Sg Besi now showing the same NTV7 test card with test tone, after airing the same Negaraku national anthem.

Around 1.08am, NTV7 and 8TV on Bkt Sg Besi has went off air. NTV7 G. Ulu Kali is still showing colour bar as earlier. 8TV Ulu Kali is still showing programmes as usual. 8TV is currently showing Korean drama series, as appear on G. Ulu Kali. TV1 and TV2 appears to be still up on all 3 transmitters.

As of morning 8am: All analogue channels is still up and running as usual. Haiz. Looks that ASO for central and southern region is being postponed, again!

For Gunung Pulai area. All analogue channels are still up and running. (The transmitter did not switch off TX signal despite after closedown.) Maybe there are technical issues on MYTV/TM/Broadcaster side that cause the removal of switch over date. Also RTM had quietly removed the notice posted on TV2 Facebook. Also do you noticed the differences of testcard transmitted from Bt Sungai Besi and Ulu Kali?
*

At G. Pulai, how's TV3 look like now? Colour bar or no signal?
Alamak, don't tell me they postpone again ah...

Bkt Sg Besi one is just plain colour bar with the usual test tone, while Ulu Kali one is the usual TV3 test card. That's the only difference.

Colour bar. (The transmitter is up 24/7) I think it is going to postpone again.
*

Why the transmitter over at JB is 24/7?
Isn't that mean broadcasters got to pay more electricity fees by transmitting colour bar midnight? Doesn't sound make sense to me. Who wanna watch colour bar midnight? For G. Ulu Kali and Bkt Sg Besi, they'll off air on their usual daily midnight.

oh , didn't know that , but if the analogue really get cut , surely a lot of people complain .
I will see how do they response.
*

If they really postpone again, we all shall roughly know the reason why. You can see how Malaysian free to air broadcasters are trying to inform the viewers to switch to digital TV, but is it effective eventually? Does the viewers even know that they are actually watching analogue TV broadcasts?

Thanks for the update

No offense, just to understand your point but why haiz? We still get to enjoy the digital broadcast altho analog is still up

I'm kinda disappointed the fact that they did not switch it off as scheduled, and always postpone and postpone for many times already.
I'm kinda sceptical that they would even switch off analogue broadcast nationwide by 30 Sept.

At first , few channel withoutepg now all no epg.I wonder how much data they save if they disable the EPG.
I need to know which episode and series it is showing.

most rural area only thinks TV is everything. If no channel they'll blame on
-TV spoil
-Antenna spoil
-Raining or Broadcast channel spoil/shutdown.

Soon, there will be a lot of people complain.Once complain , analog will continue again.
It's not practical , suddenly ask rural area people to buy something worth RM100 to watch 1,2,3 which is free to air.
*

As for rural and low income group, BSH participants may be eligible to get free digital TV set top box from MYTV.
You can check the eligibility, by entering your IC number here:

Anyone has any updates on the analogue switch off?
Or now, they plan to one shot switch off nationwide on 30 Sept 2019 (1 Oct 2019 12.01am), and no longer region by region?

If yes, RTM and Media Prima better display TV squeeze-back on all its analogue channels NOW, on all transmitters nationwide at all times, regardless of programmes or commercial, 24/7 until analogue switch off.
Make the picture smaller, and warn them that analogue broadcast will be switch off on the date of _______, to annoy the viewers is better than don't know/don't care about analogue switch off, similar like what Singapore did, which I find it super effective.

I wish Malaysia government would evaluate our country's TV broadcast standard with neighboring countries. But i think our PM will answer you, Singapore doesn't have national car but we do. 🤣
*

Or I would say, copy the idea with neighbouring country.
Copy is bad, but as long there's no "copyright" it should be fine.
Or else ah, those viewers staying in outskirts ones that still watching analogue TV, either they wouldn't care or wouldn't know what's happening.
