Astro should also start airing Go Shop Mandarin (Chinese) and Go Shop Tamil (Indian) channels on MYTV Myfreeview platform too then they can get more sales from Chinese and Indian customers too as I know a lot of Chinese and Indians do watch MYTV Myfreeview too.
*

I think it is a matter of time. I think they wanna "test it out" the Malay version on myFreeview platform first, where Malay viewers are generally has more potential to get more viewers and buyers first.
If they see it performing well, then they might provide the Mandarin version onto MYTV platform at a later date. And also Tamil version for both Astro and myFreeview platform whenever they find it is a good time to do so.

I am using LG TV model 55LA7400- TC. It does has DTV gunner build in. However, no matter how I tuned it ( auto or manual) it prompts no signal. I am using condo central antenna & confirm no issue on that. Wonder why my LG TV can’t receive digital signal.

Are you able to receive all analogue channels clearly?
Have you tried changing other cables? Do make sure the cable type used to connect to your condo's centralise TV antenna port is RG-6 type, not those cheap old ones as it may degrade the signal.

How about your nearby neighbours within your condo block? Are they able to receive all digital TV channels via centralised antenna?

If still cannot, contact your building management to check on that. Or, you can contact MYTV customer service at 1800-18-1088 and tell them the issue you're facing.
MYTV might contact your condo building management to provide some solutions.

Yet, if these are too much of a hassle, get a good indoor UHF antenna, or set up your own outdoor antenna.
If your building management doesn't allow own antenna to be installed outside, try place it in a spot where it doesn't look too protruding and obvious, while able to get stable signal of 666Mhz and 698MHz.
Perhaps, no one would notice and complain, and they would just close one eye smile.gif
I dunno how strict is your condo management, so don't blame me ya...
But if later they tell you to take down the outdoor antenna, then take down lo... sweat.gif

The building condo management does come by bring their own TV, plug in and immediately can get the signal. Had read through LG manual. Sadly..My TV is DVB-T only. Not T2.
*

Woah... Bring their own TV to your unit and try... So good wehh.
In the case of your TV unable to support DVB-T2, then you got 2 options. One is buy new TV that comes with DVB-T2, or just get a digital TV box.

I thought only UHF antenna can receive digital channel,  or my understanding is wrong? Coz now I able to receive digital uhf ch 45 with good signal strength n quality. Only ch 49 having problem. I stay in condo so no chance to fine tune antenna on my own..
*

Inform the building management about this.. The centralise antenna may need to do some realignment by the technicians.

Or else, contact MYTV and tell them about this.

Have Go Shop Tamil Channel meh???
Never seen before... Malay & Mandarin yes...
*
QUOTE(Electrobiz @ Sep 8 2019, 05:18 AM)
Yeah, got Go Shop Tamil package. I think its only there if you subscribe to the Indian package.

But Astro should make all these 3 versions of Go Shop (Malay, Chinese, Indian) free (FTA) on MYTV Myfreeview platform.
*
No, there is no Go Shop Tamil channel on Astro... Don't get confused lol...

What I meant is, if Astro want to target Indian buyers, they can introduce the Tamil version of Go Shop channel.
But the potential Tamil speaking viewers will not be as much as Malay or Mandarin... That would be the main reason why they wouldn't prioritise to introduce a Tamil version of Go Shop now.
That is just my assumption.

Tell MYTV that your condo management has no idea about it.
See what they would advise.

May I know from you all especially who live in Kedah. Recently about a week ago, I'm experiencing a poor signal quality during rain time. I don't know what is the possible cause of it. As far as I know, digital tv shouldn't have a problem with rain. I use the antenna and decoder almost two years ago without any issue like this.
*

Try realign your antenna position. Make sure you monitor the readings of the signal strength and quality when you realign. Realign until you get the highest % readings possible for both Strength and Quality.

Yes, the black bars on the side.
But I can;t seems to find the setting in the TV.
At the TV DISPLAY MODE, there is only 1 option which is AUTO.
Will check the setting again.
*

Then don't set as AUTO.
Change it to "Wide" or "16:9" or "Fit to screen" or something similar. The naming varies across different TV models and brands.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 24 2019, 10:16 PM)
Because of the delay..
We cannot use the band for telecommunications purposes like LTE usage...

7xxMhz is better... More covered... Distance...
*

Yes, because certain analogue TV station uses >700MHz range, so the LTE/5G services can't be used in 700MHz band.
But to think again, even if it shuts off now, the 700MHz spectrum will be vacant for quite some time (except some digital TV transmitters that uses 722MHz frequency)

QUOTE
MCMC said the assignment process of the 700MHz band is expected to commence in the 4th Quarter of 2019
and targeted to be completed by the 2nd Quarter of 2020.
The 700MHz band will be available to be used for mobile broadband service at the earliest in the 3rd Quarter of 2020.
https://www.malaysianwireless.com/2019/07/mcmc-700mhz-2300mhz-2600mhz/
So in other words, rush so fast to shut it off also, still have to wait at least Q3 2020 to be able to start enjoying 4G/5G services on 700MHz.

But despite this, I wish to see analogue TV to switch it off as soon as possible.

If I would guess, what would be the main advantage for RTM and Media Prima if they switch off analogue sooner?
Well, they can start enjoy savings for no longer need to pay electricity bills for operating the analogue transmitters.
Disadvantage? They'll lose the remaining viewership from analogue viewers who haven't switch to digital.

They should have demonstrate this comparison many years back, not days or a month before ASO.

yes.. i think the promotion/campaign to switch over to digital has not really caught on to majority of malaysians. probably most folks already got astro?
*
QUOTE(dayojah @ Sep 25 2019, 10:35 PM)
The 7xx muxes will be retuned quickly, the Government wants the spectrum to sell and Singapore are nagging them too.
Coverage will improve at the new lower channels.
Many MATV systems will need low pass filters to stop interference from 700 MHz LTE
*

Now MYTV targets viewers from those rural and highly rural, kampung areas where those uncle aunties are not familiar/don't know how to migrate to digital TV.
You guys realise that the new ASO date are announced mainly in Malay, and not at least bilingual with English, or multilingual including Chinese and Tamil?
Can roughly guess their targeted audience are. No offence guys, but apparently majority of those still stuck on analogue TV broadcasts, are mostly Malays that stays in rural areas?
When ask why only Malay language are used to publish such major announcement, then those people said things like "Malay is national language", "better stay in other country" those nonsense come out.

Anyway, I don't think the urban ones is their utmost priority cuz many are either no longer watching terrestrial TV at all, but enjoy entertainment at other platforms, or already well knowledge on digital TV.

It is expected after they'll give some interval/cool off period after ASO has done, then only restack DTT channels to within 470-690MHz range, to make sure viewers would lose their signal overnight.
And they got to consider those who uses DTT boxes that doesn't support auto channel updates, where user have to manually perform "Auto Search" or Manual Search.
Still remember months ago where all RTM channels suddenly "disappear" without notice? This MYTV leh, moved to new frequency also keep quiet like a mouse... Until ppl make noise then only advise viewers to perform Auto Search. If still can't get signal, then continue Auto Search again and again until you receive it. I was like, WTF??? shakehead.gif

Singapore is waiting both Malaysia and Indonesia to shut down analogue. Yet, both Malaysia and Indonesia has been interfering each other's TV signals now.
I really don't know what they're thinking... Just shut it down and don't delay anymore shakehead.gif

The current digital signal, some channels are in SD and some in HD. Will all the channels be broadcast in HD eventually?
*

That depends on the broadcaster, RTM and Media Prima and others.
MYTV has no problem doing that, as long broadcasters willing to pay more money to them cuz HD quality requires more bandwidth.

slightly off-topic

turned on the TV yesterday afternoon, and was shocked that TV1 was airing Blue Planet II...on a weekday afternoon when literally no one would be watching it

the 1080i video quality was quite good though, although obviously cannot compare to disc or streaming services

just wondering why a great programme like Blue Planet II is stuck on a weekday afternoon...
*

Yeap, you're right. Here's some screenshots, for reference:

Because all HD channels from myFreeview (digital TV) uses the video bitrate of barely 3Mbps, visual artifacts becomes very obvious in fast motion scenes, which is quite displeasing to see...
Here's one of the example (click/tap below to view photo in original resolution):

It looks terrible I know. And that's not because the JPEG quality is low/poor.
This is exactly what it looks from DTT (myFreeview). (Recorded as .ts file using DTT box)

And, a scrolling ticker appears during the programme...
Other programme never mind, but documentary shows like Blue Planet, oh my, so annoying! shocking.gif shakehead.gif
user posted image

Well, it's a national television anyway. That's what you got for something free. Still good to see that RTM channels are trying their best to air great programmes like this. whistling.gif
And yeap, only Malay subtitles available (subtitles can be turned on/off).

Wow, guys, I think this time is really happening, and won't be a delay anymore. biggrin.gif

Analogue TV squeeze down has recently reappeared on TV3 with a new 30 September 2019 date. (Gunung Pulai transmitter) As usual, this notice is not shown on other analogue channels.
*

Yeap, TV3 on VHF frequency on Bkt Sg Besi is also showing the same squeezeback.
And still the same, the UHF frequency on Ulu Kali one doesn't show any squeezeback at all.

And yea, in Klang Valley here, only TV3 (VHF) has that squeezeback.

Its already 12.00am. No switch off?
*

There is no specific time is given, that's the thing. We can only assume it'll be switch off within the day of 30 Sept but the time is uncertain.

Edit:
TV3 12.32am Test card, few mins later off air
NTV7 1am Test card on Gn Ulu Kali, Bkt Sg Besi off air
8TV 1am colour bar, few mins later off air
TV9 12.30am Colour bar on Gn Ulu Kali, Bkt Sg Besi off air few mins later

Only RTM analogue channels from these transmitters: Gn Ulu Kali, Bkt Sg Besi and KL tower, is still up and running. We'll, they're on air 24/7 even on analogue except media prima channels.

I think, just turn on your analogue TV next morning and see if analogue broadcast is still there... biggrin.gif If it's still No Signal, then that's it. That's analogue switch off in Malaysia. Nothing significant, although I hope to see some message that inform viewers that analogue has switch off (similar like Singapore and many other countries around the world).

Those who use NJOI, now how much need to pay(equipment + installation)?
Only pay 1 time only, right?
NJOI during heavy raining time no signal interrupt?
*

Yes. Just one time only.
Installation + Equipment is RM405, according to Njoi website right now.
Njoi is the same like any other satellite pay TVs around the world that uses Ku band (pronounced letter by letter as K-U), where bad weather conditions like heavy rain will get interrupted.

QUOTE(langatian @ Sep 30 2019, 10:07 AM)
The analogue channels are still up until now.

Observe tonight lo... Between 12.00am to 12.30am to 1.00am or plus, similar like daily midnight off air time.
Hope they'll show some ASO notification message instead of just test card/colour bar.
