MCMC

The MCMC Slides for Planet Digital does have some insight on some of the channels to be included but probably that is just in planning.
Take a look at page 13 of the slide. Seems like Nickelodeon and National Geographic will be in there somewhere, and even Discovery, CNN & Bloomberg is shown there. Hopefully the change is for the better.

Sam Irvine of Freeview (NZ I believe) was also one of the presenter. Is that hinting that Freeview is linking up to be on Malaysian FTA TV?

for sharing.

malaysia is use dvb t2 rolleyes.gif not dvb t hmm.gif

Is DVB-T compatible with DVB-T2?
Although DVB-T2 is supposed to be backwards compatible with the DVB-T standard, DVB-T receivers cannot use DVB-T2 signals. It is, therefore, advisable when buying a digital TV or a receiver to check that it is based on the DVB-T2 standard not DVB-T.

It is preferable to get an amplified TV antenna if your signal is not good. Amplified means that it need electrical power.

Just a advise, do not buy Android based dvb-t2 box, as the software and hardware do not support well on Android. Dvb function also very limited and poor quality. advisorble to buy standalone dvb t2 box.

Thai DVB-T2 box which is approved by NBTC at only RM69.

Language available in English and Thai in menu settings,

List of THB690 (690 บาท) or MYR/RM69 and equivalent or higher, higher price means more features equipped DVB-T2 set top box in Thailand. You may click for review (รีวิวกล่อง) at last column in Thai language, just see pictures if can't understand Thai. A pic better than words sometimes.

http://www.thaidigitaltelevision.com/set-t...-near-690-baht/

Apparatus approval sticker from NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) which is equivalent to our MCMC pasted on STB comformed to DVB-T2 standard.

Links for Thai DVB-T2 stb references.

http://www.maamai.com/tv-digital-690-set-top-box-coupon/

THB690 voucher for local ppl to redeem box price from Thai govt (NBTC) as part of subsidy per household. One house one voucher no matter how many members of family live in. For example, if slightly expensive THB890 stb purchased, BOX PRICE minus THB690 VOUCHER = THB200. , meaning THB200 or RM20 absorb your own.

DVB-T2 boxes also available at 7-11 convenient shop at RM69. Available at cross-border Malaysia-Thai 7-11 too.

I used the old TV3 UHF aerial on the roof, just rotate to face the signal from Songkhla transmitter. The Thai DTV signal using UHF band.

As long as the aerial is designed to capture UHF wave, it can be used.

Where are you from / location ?

Apart from TV1 & 2 using analog VHF signal in Kedah, all other channels are using UHF band. TV3 is the first TV stn using UHF in 1986 till now in our area.

Currently, my aerial is without booster. But you may try to add a booster to try and the aerial must be longer as ppl in nortern Msia receive Thai analog TV channels in old days.

Your TV set come with DVB-T2 tuner features ?

I am using old CRT TV and got a set top box from 7-11 Thailand for RM69 to receive DVB-T2.

That NOT true. If signal strength is not strong enough to reach your area, you still need external aerial. Otherwise pixelize mosaic will appear on screen same as viewing Astro in heavy rain days.
