Here's a full comparison of all SGP SP products.

@gingerman2408: Yes I'm getting the official battery case. Yep it looks a tad funny but it should work fine, and IMHO battery cases is ALWAYS better then battery packs in terms of convenience of use. Main reason why I settled for the SGS2 actually, it's the ONLY Dual Core Android phone with a battery case made for it lol. And Exp? Well mate, it's about the price of a Morphie Juice Pack Air, so I have no qualms over here lol.

A shame PowerSkin doesn't have one for the SGS2 yet, THAT should be cheaper (albeit even more hideous). Well, I'll live with what I have lol.

Also, Try searching for "EPIKCASE" on ebay for the DC Mugen cases. That should help. Very good seller, I've gotten a whole bunch of stuff from the guy with no issues.

@tunasandwich: Esato AND Xperia blogs are - by definition - SE biased websites lol. Of course lar Arc wins. Try GSMArena for a better comparo.

From the reviews I've seen, Arc VS SGS2 camera is a toss up between resolution (SGS2) and low light noise control (Arc) IMHO. The Sensation doesn't even compare lol. Arc has good low light noise control because IINM it's using a backlit sensor like the one used in the iPong.

so means Arc > Sensation > SGS2?

Anyone able to give a comparison of pictures taken by all 3? tongue.gif
*
I wouldnt say ARC > Sensation > SGS2 ...... In terms of picture quality , best way to do a comparison is to take a photo and dl it to a pc 2 view . Viewing it on the device itself to compare is a bit bias as SGS2 does have a better screen compared to those 2 so a 3rd party screen like a monitor is the best ...... Each got its pros and cons but if u r into night/dark action photos ( u know wat i mean ) , I strongly suggest ARC tongue.gif

Agree with noobi3

Arc's camera lense is better than sgs2. But i love amoled screen more than the picture quality. And sgs2 camera is good enuff for daily use. Idont even mind to use it as travelling camera, either for photos or video

hello guys

im probably getting my phone tomorrow(today.haha)
so im wondering which custom ROM is the best(in ur opinion and why?)
i've read all the custom roms and what they have to offer and i think Cognition sounds really good. and also VillainRom.
does any of these roms have unlocking methods other than the stock(swipe the screen one)?

thanks in advance! =D

So far as i know, no Rom can offer unlocking screen other than the default one (yet) but you can use 3rd party app for that. Here's a snapshot for your reference

widgetlocker is an app, so when you clear ram, it will kill the app too.. i recommend you not to clear ram.. i never used it. but if you want, i suggest to use 3rd party app like 'Advanced task killer' where you can customize which apps not to kill (wahh, i use a lot of word kill, feel like a hitman tongue.gif)

Prefer Chainfire + comes with CWM which is quite handy for themes flashing or some other tweaks like boot animations , circular battery , black dialer , etc .... U cant go wrong if u read the instructions . JIGS cant restore to default , just reset your binary counter to zero and removed the yellow mark at bootup since u r running a non-Samsung kernel . Oh ya , it also boot u into download mode just in case u screwed up your hp aka soft brick where your buttons no longer work

I think you worry bcoz htc has a locked bootloader. Rooting on htc will void warranty. I used to have Desire.thats why i choose Samsung. We can flash to stock Android to send back for warranty.. the jig is to fix those who have bricked his device (phone not booting up at all)

Yes that is correct or u can try out this link as well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399

JIGS is useful for both noobs and pros when they brick their phones . Pros doesnt mean u cant brick your phone , shit happens like a power surge while flashing . Here is a brief description of how and when its used

Chances are, if you attempted to flash a new ROM using ODIN and failed(ODIN fails a lot) you will have damaged your System partition, meaning you can no longer boot into Android OS. Normally this would be an easy fix, only requiring one to boot back into download mode and try again with ODIN. However, all Samsung Captivates and other Galaxy S variants manufactured after October 2010 are hardware locked, or have the ability to boot into recovery and download mode via button combinations disabled. This would leave users in a state of limbo, unable to enter download or recovery mode and no working system image, but thankfully Samsung has built into their phones an alternate hardware level interface to force it into download mode. All it requires is a micro USB cable, around three dollars worth of resistors and maybe fifteen to twenty minutes of your time aka JIG.
