hi guys..i would like to ask somthng about sgs2..i've dowloaded certain apps without using android market..if it is in .apk file it easy to install it..but i get in a zip file that cointains few folders n files..seems like it hav been installed n i just need to paste it..the problem is i dont know where to paste it..ther is no .apk file in it..

Argh!!!! It's so annoying. I can't download the phone drivers whether through Kies 2, or through the program in /Samsung/Kies/USB driver.

Hi guys, just got my phone from alieamin (awesome guy btw). Got back home and wanted to odin but odin didn't detect. I'm on windows 7 32-bit.

I tried downloading the drivers through kies 2. It keeps stopping at 72%

Searched through thread v4 where uncle benny helped someone out. That didn't work for me. I've already got microsoft .net framework 4 (he suggested at least framework 2).

Searched on xda-dev. One post suggested enabling USB debugging. Tried that.

Odin and kies 2 both cannot connect to my phone now. Please help!

just rename the .zip to .apk

If it's a zip..u probably need root to flash it as an update. Some so called apps are not official apps..and requires modifying some system files..therefore it comes in a form of zip

Well, u can always download google universal drivers for android. My kies installation have no problem.

What u mean by download drivers through kies 2? Once u install kies...u should have all the drivers

Well, that's what I thought too. But when it didn't connect, I rooted around a bit and found an option under "tools" > "install driver". This is the option I chose that kept stopping at 72%. After googling a bit I found out that the program for installing the drivers was kept at /Samsung/Kies/USB driver. I went there and ran the program and it also stops somewhere half way through. I assume both are the same programs.

I'm not too sure what you mean by the google universal drivers? Do you mean downloading the eclipse SDK? Hope you can help me out with that a bit.

just got mine. sgp case + included stienheil sp(foc) from ebay.

err... my music player din display the songs' tags properly... anyone know how to fix it? i dun wish to remove all the IDv3 or smtg as i edi renamed those songs with the details =)

you dont need kies. kues just sucks

Added on June 21, 2011, 9:40 amyou just flash such zips from clockworkmod recovery. you can install chainfire cwm. some of the cook Roms when flash will autoinstall chainfire cwm too

No other way, that's what my friend and I found out. Some ID3 tag are not supported in Android. Get PowerAMP as a thirdparty player..that supports most of the tags.

any idea where i can get SGP Screen protector in KL? i search lyn last sunday no shop carry any case or screen protector....

currently my S2 is butt nekkid ! only have melkco flip case.....i need SGP Ultra silke as backup aswell....

the SGS2 glass is made from gorilla glass or something like that..means not really easily to be scratched right?

Don't know why..for my friend's unit, got a couple of dots (scratch dots) on the screen. He say he took good care of the screen (without screen protector..because couldn't get one). But when I tried to remove it, seems like unremovable. It's like scratch dots...or its a really tough stain.

Anyone have the same issue?
