For me, I'll wait around 2-3 weeks after Maxis launch the phone, since they have the exclusivity, I don't think Digi will announce anything during this time about whether to bring in SGS2 or not.

But I'll never sign up for Maxis plan, go and figure out why.
I rather buy 2099 and sign up with Digi.

OK here is the revised price - min Value Plus50 and min 500MB(RM58) data and Rm10 rebate
Promo RM799 package - RM799+(50+88-10)*1.06*24 = RM4055.32
During promo month - RM1199 + (50+58-10)*1.06*24 = RM 3692.12
After 22 July - RM1399 + (50+58-10)*1.06*24 = RM 3892.12

using digi smartplan without making any calls

2099 + 68 * 24 * 1.06 = 3828.92 !!!

For RM1199, you need to sign up Value Plus 50 + at least 1.5Gb Data which is 78.

So, it will be RM1199 + (50+78-10)*1.06*24 = RM4200.92

Personally, I think I probably will take up the RM50 voice + 1.5Gb (RM78) plan. I have been using Maxis for quite sometime, I have yet to experience any thing bad. I have been using the Maxis 500Mb plan, and I can't even finish it monthly. I don't do FB, don't do Youtube. I only read news, emailing and some other light stuff, and I turn off 3G connection when i don't need it. So whether Maxis is good or not, I would say good. As to whether Digi is good or not, I can't comment on the data plan, but for 1 thing, I dislike Digi coverage. My gf is using Digi, and I always can't get through her phone. Further more, always cut off half way conversation. And if you immediately dial back, 100% guarantee into voice mail.

Whether Maxis or Digi, it is definitely personal choice. But for me, I am glad, because it is Maxis launching it now, not Digi.
