After 6 months of renovating my house, now planning for concrete top for wet kitchen.
1- The slope was in my planning but again the Feng Shui was saying stove have to be lower than the sink.  vmad.gif  mad.gif . So.. If I did the slope, then the stove is higher than the sink. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
2- Yes, you can't find 620 mm tiles. But if I do the slope, it will be 600 tiles + 50 slope = 650mm.
Side wall 600mm and base 575mm. (my planning)
3- I find 600mm for stove is bit small. Having 600mm top,  the wok edge to the wall left between 25-50mm. The wall will be very hot.
4- Wall eveness is not a big issue here, cos u will put silicon to the join. And it so easy to clean even if it is wet.
As for saving may be not much.

I'm planning to order the panels and install DIY.  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

I don't know why so many people have issue with FS. I follow, no issue with FS and already integrate to my just design. Is not confuse at all.

Ok here some Basic Feng Shui.

For the stove:-

1. It should not face the main door.

2. It should not face the toilet door.

3. It should not face any bedroom doors.

4. Avoid placing it in the middle of the house.

5. Avoid placing it under a beam.

6. It should not be placed below a staircase.

7. It should not be sited on the same wall opposite a bed.

8. There should not be a large window behind the stove.

9. Avoid placing it below a sewerage pipe or immediately above it there should not be a toilet.

10. Avoid placing it at a corner.

11. The kitchen should not be round or irregular shaped.

12. Not good to place a fire element such as stove next to water element like Sink and Fridge.

13. Stove should be lower than the sink.

etc etc... smile.gif

Not all are true, some are just old believe.

The main of FS is external than only internal. Internal are main door, stove and bed. Than water placement.

External need to tap on the chi.

Date and time are critical too.

Other else really not critical.

If a FS master ask me to buy this buy that I will not party him a single cents.

If believe, ask a good one to audit. Don't listen bit here bit there.

TS,

Great sharing of your journey...
I spend half a day reading through the whole thread.
Kudos!!!
As a new house owner myself and juz burn big hole in my pocket as well for all those furnishing and stuff know..
Now I found myself looking for more storage space.
The storage under stair is indeed very small. I'm thinking of using the attic for storage space as well, but was looking for a decent and nice attic/loft ladder to easily access to stair above.
Btw.. did you install any CCTV or security system in your house as well?

Welcome, welcome. tongue.gif

Wow, using your attic for storage, .. I can't do that with my house. thumbup.gif
Is your attic already built originally to withstand function as another floor?

Security is a must of course. biggrin.gif

Hi All,

For Sky Light or Awning, use Lexan* Twin Wall, Grade Recommended is Lexan* 10mm Thickness Solar Control IR, Light Green in

Color

In the 1960s, NASA used Lexan* Brand Polycarbonate for Astronaut helmet assemblies and visors which became known as

"bubble helmets", including those used by the Apollo moon astronauts.

user posted image

Advantages
1) 2 Wall , Better Heat Insulation
2) Lower Cost
3) Reduce 30% Heat
4) 2 Side UV Resistant Coating ( Generally, Polycarbonate is NOT Chemical Resistant. Excellent Printed as label, example

laptop Battery uses Polycarbonate FR Film as Label. Glass is VERY VERY Difficult to Paint or print which makes them

Chemical Resistant)
5) Impact Resistance. Virtually Un-Breakble . Youtube has many Video on the Impact Test
6) 10 year Warranty - Against Yellowing ( yellow Index Not more than 2, which naked Eyes can see)
- Against Impact ( Drilled Holes Failure not Warrant)
- Against Lost of Light Transmission
7) Light Transmission - More than 65%. Brightness is the Reason you Choose Polycarbonate
8) Coated PolyCarbonate ( Lexan* Own Coating which was Developed in-house)

More Details

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexan

http://www.sabic-ip.com/sfs/SFS/en/Product...ntrolsheet.html

Dust or Fungus will grow in the slot but that can be eliminate if you get a Good Contractor.
Use Anti - Dust tape, which will allow the Water to Vaporize and 'Flow' out through the Special Membrane in the Anti-Dust

Tape
It will prevent Water from Sipping in and Grow Fungus

Many Stadium are Built from Multi-Wall Sheet , which uses the Anti-Dust Tape ( Do a Search for Anti-Dust tape)

Examples :

Material Cost for Lexan* 10mm Thickness Solar Control IR,is approximately RM 6.80/square feet.
Note That The Structure is more Costlier ( Workmanship + Structure = 70% ) that the Roofing Material( Roofing Material is

the Critical part of Sheltering)

For more Details of Recommendation, Kindly contact me below

To be Sure, Call the manufacturer for a Claim ( Some Manufacturer also claim give 10 years Warranty). Ask them to visit

you. You can judge the product by their Services
Give them the Lot No ( Date of Manufacturing or Purchasing Agents for Verification).

Another Option is to use 6 mm Lexan* Solid Sheet. Same Warranty .
6mm will not be break by an Axe & and will not deform from heat ( 3 mm thick Polycarbonate will Wave on hot Days)
