I cook regular house food...erm...like vege and stirfry black pepper chicken with sesame oil and capsicums, erm..things like stirfry ginger and rice wine chicken, mixed vege..that kind of food to eat with rice...I also make different kind of pasta, and baked alot (so I bought the KEG6002)...those chinese food does not give too much fume...only in the beginning when you saute your garlic and ginger...I dont do Hokkien mee, kung foo chow that kind of thing....If it is belacan kangkung then the hood i turn on max...or cook curry and asian spices, i turned on also and I turn on before putting in belacan...the hood works great...cant really smell in my dry kitchen.. so far, I have not fried any fish or deep fry anything (cos I'm afraid of the oil splashing) so I cant comment on those fried stuff kind of cooking

The hob is am using the GFG 86201; its hot...because the flame is blue and angled...works great when I make claypot chicken rice (flame is even)...

Hope these help

Updates : Upgrading to 3 phase wiring.
Finally got the house wiring to 3 phase.
This was planned initially but it got delayed due to
1. The electrical wiring contractor left this final thing undone when he "disappered" (after taking the full payment doh.gif )
2. $$$ habis, so need time to recover. blush.gif
I thought it would be complicated but it was surprisingly easy.

Step 1: TNB Application for 3 phase upgrade
- Go to TNB and apply (I went when they have a special offer, they waive their TNB connection charges)
Note: There is 2 types of connection, overhead and underground, the overhead connection type were waived)
- Hire a qualified electrician contractor registered with TNB (TNB will give you a list for you to choose)
- The electrician will visit your house and ensure that your house wiring is ready for the upgrade (in my case, it was already done)

Step 2: Pay Bill
- The electrician will arrange for the upgrade with TNB and top up the extra deposit for you.
- You have to pay all your outstanding bills with TNB
Note: Alternatively the next TNB bill will also include the Deposit top up amount, you can pay the deposit when you pay that bill.

Step 3: Re-wiring
- TNB will arrange people to make an appointment to rewire your main line to 3 phase configuration

Note: After this job the house will still be running on single phase.

Step 4: Install Meter
- After the wiring is ready, TNB will arrange another team to install the new 3 phase type meter.

Note: When the meter is installed, it starts at "0000000"

Finally my house is running on 3 phase - hopefully this will allow me to turn my house in to an icebox without the fuse tripping rclxm9.gif

Many of the terms I use here is wrong as I am not a technical man and try to explain to the best of my limited ability and understanding.

Feel free to correct any error that you see. tongue.gif

Here is my break down

TNB Connection charges (overhead type) - RM300.00 (Waived during special offer) rclxms.gif
Qualified Electrical contractor - RM800.00 (Might vary depending on diffrent contractor)
Top up to TNB Deposit for 3 phase - RM200.00

I paid total RM1000.00

as the RM300.00 TNB connection charges was waived when I applied for 3 phase upgrade when there was a special offer.

Hi Phoenix69, thanks for the prompt reply.

I called 1 of the TNB approved contractor, what he told me is the same as what you have stated. In addition, he mentioned that if there is any cabling to be done, it will be charged per meter basis. He did not mentioned how much is that. He said that the length of the cable depends on how far the meter from the 'tiang' but I am guessing he is talking about underground? Need to verify on this.

If you don't mind, could you share with me your electrical contractor? I need to double check on the price. Thank you.

Thanks a lot Phoenix69. My contractor just verbally quoted me 'all-in' (including moving the meter to the gate pillar) RM3000. Don't know if it is a cut-throat price but will definitely get more quotes.

It is amazing that you can just convert 1 phase to 3 phase with this change in panel. Is this for real? I scan other websites and they require a motor to convert, but it will result in efficiency loss e.g. http://www.tortech.com.au/category/single-...hase-converter/
