QUOTE(calvin_yit @ Jun 14 2011, 08:54 PM) think the alexis rumour is all udinese's president tryin to start a bidding war, hence, listing us as one of the favourite. A.young rumour looks more believable, as he has less than 12 months on his contract n he already said he want champions league football. I do agree fergie does have a fetish for wingers as throughout his reign he had a tendency to stockpile them. Yeah.. i think they are just wanting more money from citeh or barca by involving us in it.. especially city.. sure gonna double the money we offer..About the homegrown 6+5 rule, i think i read sumwhere the english FA is trying to interpret the "6" to mean players produced/trained by the team team through their academy, and not based on nationality. |

QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Jun 14 2011, 12:29 PM) Vidic is still looking good for another 1 year or 2, ( or maybe 3 ). Ferdinand I have to agree as well as his days are not long as first team. We do have 5 centreback right now ( if added phil jones will be 6 ). Right now we need someone who can tackle like Roy Keane and dominating in midfielder. The only player that able to do that is Fletcher, and currently there is no backup for his position. I think the days for carrick is kinda over to me. I myself believe that Phil jones will be awesome placing in defensive mid, which man united is struggling need this kind of player right now. When talking about Keane, a lot of people focus too much on his tackling/defensive ability/hard man etc and not his other qualities. He was like Gerrard, all action going forward even though he's not the most skillful players around and not the most imaginative passer. Frankly, tackling/defensive ability is overrated for a midfielder. Look at Barca's midfield. Not one player in midfield you would consider a hard man. Yet they do more than fine in that area going both ways.Alex Ferguson is still trying to give Evan chances to prove his worthy as First Team, he still got lots of work to do. Give him some month for him to train himself better and ever. I personally think that, a great centre back. Height is another major thing you need to think of. For example like Vidic and Ferdinand. I don't say Phil Jones would be bad in centreback because of height, he's great in CB, but if trying to win the heading, he might lose because of height. For a midfielder the most important thing is his passing ability. After that only focus on other areas of his game. Positioning, movement, mentality(passing choice). For me Hargreaves was a bit of a failure in the middle. Even Scholes struggled playing next to him. Maybe it was injuries and he didn't settle properly, but passing wise(not talking about beautiful cross field/through/lob/long pass here, but more of the simple stuff like passing short sideways/forward passes, making himself available for a pass, not panic when he got the ball etc) he was found lacking. Defensively he was probably our best in the middle although positioning Carrick is better than him a bit, but at a club like ours, you need more than tackling and running ability when you play in the middle of the park. As a winger I'd say he was a proper beast. His best games for us came from that position, and at RB. Maybe I'm just remembering the bad stuff because it was long ago since he last played and kinda harsh on him, but that's how I feel during that time as well. We'll see how Jones plays. For some games he may cut it as a DM, but majority of the other games, we need a bit more than just his defending ability if he plays in midfield. FIFA are trying to enforce a 6 + 5 rule based on nationality that is banned in EU under freedom of employment laws. About the homegrown 6+5 rule, i think i read sumwhere the english FA is trying to interpret the "6" to mean players produced/trained by the team team through their academy, and not based on nationality. The homegrown rule is an initiative by the english FA and also UEFA (I think) who want teams to have 8 homegrown players in their 25 man squad. These are based on the player training in the academy for 3 years during the ages of 16 - 21. . Basically they want teams to develop their own youth. |

QUOTE(mhyug @ Jun 14 2011, 03:04 PM) maybe the pools boom bust cycle effect kot. Over the last 3 seasons his assists & goals record is on par with the best wingers in the league. Can play both wings comfortably, good pace, not bad at playing the ball on the ground, good delivery as well into the box.. tricky winger. As for -.. dunno what.a lot of theories in where pj will play, weve seen him play but to our team nor our system, yet to be known how he will play for us, nor what are the gaffers plan are.for the moment he is another to join the cause and add depth to the whole team would suffice. its a wait and see now. anyway still every one wants young but no one is putting a debate over him....we cant go on speed alone wch he has care to pt out the +/-?? Added on June 14, 2011, 3:15 pmjust for kinks anyone nak start blame them hijacking a united fan player(adam) kohkoh moh kita palit depa plak wakakakaakak Added on June 14, 2011, 10:16 pm QUOTE(nshady @ Jun 14 2011, 06:35 PM) I feel very very weird. When we are already on the verge of completing ashley young's signing, the media hype so much about sanchez favouring us. I'm not sure if it is true, but the media make it look like he's coming to us....some people already argue about signing another winger(ashley young) now another one is coming? LOL..' With a 35m price tag on his head, you can be well damn sure we're no even looking at his direction.PJS, Obertan, Young, Nani, Valencia, Sanchez and if you want to include bebe. Speechless. Sanchez is overpriced. I don't think he will make a good buy.

QUOTE(calvin_yit @ Jun 13 2011, 11:19 PM) LoL....scholes must have some sick sense of humour, i like this part especially, its like shooting a gun then said the victim accidentally fall onto the bullet "The one against Zabaleta, I didn't do on purpose. It was just bad timing. "The ball was up there and the way your leg goes it has to come down and unfortunately it came down on his leg Great news on p.jones. Can forget about our centerback department for the next decade aledi. Same goes for england. My guess is, he is gonna take no.4 (jersey) QUOTE(kael90 @ Jun 14 2011, 12:01 AM) Ashley young deal will be completed soon isnt it?... QUOTE(pisces88 @ Jun 14 2011, 11:52 PM) Sanchez = 30m won't even be enough especially when City is in the mix.Added on June 15, 2011, 1:37 am QUOTE now is more than just BPL title..man utd hav to learn how to conquer europe as well..no point always jaguh kampung.. Conquer Europe?i have my doubt ashley young can bring man utd to another level..seriously...who's gonna be left out if he's playing?..valencia?..nani?..park?...i dont see young can bring much more quality to the team than the current 3 wingers..mayb except for extra dimension as he can play left and right...there's no other better winger to buy anymore??? hmm.gif 06/07 - Semi-final, lost to eventual winner [Milan] 07/08 - Winner, beating [Chelsea] in the final, and [Barca] in the semi's 08/09 - Final, lost out to [Barca], beat [Inter] in the first knock out round, and [Arsenal] in the semi's 09/10 - Qtr-final, knocked out on away goal rule against [Bayern](unlucky that Rafael got a soft yellow twice while Bommel is free to foul all night long), who later on would be beaten by Inter in the final. 10/11 - Final, lost out to [Barca] That's a great record. But sadly for us we got one of the best club side ever in front of us for the past few years, although last season we blew that chance by shooting ourselves in the foot against Bayern. As for better wingers, perhaps SAF is already happy with the options that we have? In Nani and Valencia, we have two of the best wingers around and in Park we have a very dependable big game player. Who else could we buy that would improve that? Don't tell me Ronaldo and Messi. We are fine on the wings, at the back and upfront. We could do with a slight upgrade in the middle, but even then it will still be very hard to beat that Barca side unless they have a bad game. QUOTE(jetpacker @ Jun 15 2011, 12:01 AM) Shows just how strong our squad is that not even our and the EPL's top scorer could make the bench in the final because the other guys form towards the end of the season pushed him out, although in the case of Owen vs Berba, it was felt that Owen would make more of an impact coming from the bench in the dying minutes should we need him. This post has been edited by Wan: Jun 15 2011, 01:43 AM |
