what's with these Sanchez love affairs? most of you, seemed to be post-Ronaldo United fans, aren't you? Ronaldo is talented, no doubt but he is selfish at times. Which frustrates me to no end. Yet, you guys complained about Nani. Funny, ain't it?

Knowing SAF, he will try mend whichever places HE THINKS that are weak or need reinforcements. It is very unlikely we change our play because of new additions to the team. It has always been, new additions adapting to our gameplay.

And I like United as a team better than United playing based on a single player, which was Ronaldo back then. Effective, yet not very entertaining.

Oh, I would like to add, I do welcome him if he is CONFIRMED on joining us but I would rather have Young than him.

Wont surprise me if we get another Arsenal-Chelsea back-to-back as what we did for last 2 seasons IIRC?
*
Or Liverpool-Chelsea again. Might as well put Arsenal-Liverpool-Chelsea-City-Spurs back to back.

I think Chicharito's value has sky-rocketed to £55m. Heck, if Torres worth 50 I say why not?? He is younger too. tongue.gif

Anyway, was wondering will United give up the hunt for keeper and opt for Lindergaad instead?? hmm.gif

De Gea is a done deal. Look forward to it. Announcement should be sometime this week or next.

still no fresh news Nasri contract situation?

i think SAF should really test a water for him.

initially he's a winger for Arsenal. but he did tremendously well in Fabregas's position (centrally, part of midfield 3) during early part of last season. during that time, Fabregas was in-out due to injury, and Nasri hit his form of life, free scoring and playmaking. as a winger /wing forward, he's very good but not really set the world alight.

and both Sneijder and Nasri arent really pure CM on recent years. Modric is the CM, but his fee will be astronomical (as Sneijder) and his preference are to stay in London.

IMO Nasri is poor man of Sneijder. but with 1/3 of salary, 1/3 of transfer fee, 3 age younger and years of PL experience. and this transfer will make Arsenal a bit weaker.

very unlikely transfer, but nothing are impossible..

(read news flash on ESPN news yesterday, United might try to work it out this week)

I think we easily classified Fletcher/Carrick/Ando out because they have no improve on their scoring and assist rate.

When we talk abt Scholes, we used to rem how many goals he scored from CM. When we talk abt Beckham, we know how many goals and assists he provided from set piece.

All Carrick/Fletcher/Carrick/Ando lack these. If they can improve their vision and attack rate, they could be in next level.
*
WOW! Just WOW! I wonder, wasn't it Carrick's long pass that led to Giggsy's assist last season? Or how Ando almost got a hattrick last season?

Oh well, they are just pure rubbish, aren't they?

Well, its about time for our midfielders to start scoring goals more regularly and I mean the likes of Ando/Fletcher/Carrick. They have to start chipping a few more goals consistently to share the goal scoring burdens. Yes, they have scored a few here and there but its good to get a bit of consistency in there. I am not saying they have to score 15-20 every season, it won't happen since they are not well known prolific scorers anyway. But consistently score 3 to 5 [or more?] per season will not be a bad thing.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Last season's stats. Apart from Nani, only Park managed to score 5 or more in the league.

We all know Wazza will has his "off period" where he will not score for a few games before getting his usual scoring run started. So its those "off period" we need someone to chip in the goals. Cant always rely on Hernandez & Berbatov  sweat.gif

I guess Young will chip in a few goals from midfield so another option for us  nod.gif
*
Did Ando played most of the time last season?

And we all know Carrick is not a rough tackling DM nor he is a CM. He is a DM that reads the game. And I don't really know why his confidence is so low. Because when it is THAT high, we all know what is he capable of.

Fletcher was also injured for most of the season.

I don't know about you guys but our goals have always been coming from wingers or strikers. CMs will contribute now and then but not that consistent. And the way we play is not the same as we used to. Plus, most teams know how to play us these days.

About Carrick, he has a decent shot in him as well (eg: his goal against Roma in the 7-1 win) but he sometimes opted to pass when he could had taken a shot himself  unsure.gif

Like I've said, it's about his confidence. But it was no surprise that he bossed the midfield on numerous of occasions last season. Notably, charity shield and chelsea matches.

better option for him i guess.he may have that outside view compared to forwards whom are expected to be in that area when things happen, thus the pass then taking any silly chances.

most shots from outside or long range from any player goes awry, keeper takes them well or stopped dead on the tracks.
*
Or people could easily get frustrated with him as they are with Nani. whistling.gif

I personally don't prefer Nasri to join Man United, mainly is because his playing style is just not suitable for man united tactic. Nasri is more on a solo guy, dribbling through several players and shoot. We need someone like Pirlo style, giving nice passes to striker. Whether they are able to score , I do not care. I just care the overall teamwork and the communication.

they have their own opinion mah. LOL. and i am not sure how these BIG names signings can guarantee success compared to those whom has played with the team. sure, they might not have greater individual skills but at least they know how the team plays and could play along. i wonder, which is which are better for the club? sometimes, i can understand muppetry but to the level of degrading your own player, it is just disgraceful. mark my words, carrick will still get the stick next season and so on. ando will also get the stick. nani might as well.

and the best part is, as if they know what is SAF's plan for the next season and on? LOL! if that's the case they can replace SAF already. or apply for assistant manager. muppets these days are driven too much by FM.

and oh, just because young is getting #18, that does not mean he's a direct replacement for the ginger prince. don't be so naive and stupid. it's just a number. yes, the former person that wears the number might be godlike or great, but that does not mean the next person to use it has to be it either.

ya...guess i expressed that wrongly. Should be end of 20s ..oops doh.gif . I mean compare gibson to fletcher pre-2007, be4 he firmly establish himself as big game player. Pre-2007 he was getting starts here n there and sumtimes on the wing. So, i was asking wan to compare gibson to that fletcher n what would had happened if fergie accepted a bid for fletcher at that time. (which i can't see happening anyway at that time coz fergie was sure fletch will come good.)

Sure, smalling n p.jones had never played fullbacks consistently be4. I won't be suprised to see fergie throw them there tho, albiet, just for a game or two, when there is a need to.

The similarities between both of them, they are found as talented players. And Gibson could just be Fletcher Mark-II. Fletcher, back then was called shit, this, that and many more. plus, if you're looking at the midfield lineup back then, we have better than what we have now. So, why SAF did not offload him? According to your theory, Fletcher should not be in his plans anymore, right?

Plus, read back on what Wan has said about JOS. The same thing could be said about Gibbo. It's not that he is not needed anymore, but it's more to like we have to sacrifice someone to fill up that 25-names. Is it that hard to understand? And the fact you called Gibbo joker is pretty much the same you calling Anwar a gay, degrading.

A11 should have quoted it in its entirety.
As Anders claimed too often fans are kept in the dark like mushrooms and fed with bs. Then there are enablers ( for whatever reasons) perpetuating them. Hope this will enable some of you to understand.
Did  any of you  follow Bernie Madoff? If not read 'No one Would Listen' by Harry Markopolos (another investment and financial expert in derivatives) and see whether there is any resemblance in  Madoff 's MO.

I just finished it and one phrase or metaphor that strikes me (not Madoff split-strike option strategy which he foisted on his investors) is that if you 'want to soar like an eagle don't walk with turkeys' i.e. don't be a sheep. wink.gif

Ahhh, andersred. As if, most of us dont know about this site. And for Citeh fans, both of you went a lot of trouble to lookup for this site for us? Now the questions are, is it us that is obsessed with your supported club or it's the other way around? laugh.gif

And funny enough, for a mere gap of an hour or so, both of you could discuss about the same thing, as if both you have planned this(which tells us that both of you live nearby to each other) or just dupes, as what I have claimed and I am not sure why mods still cant see it? rclxub.gif

Let me tell u a secret about your beloved club, which i am sure you've already know? whistling.gif Etihad owner and Citeh owner are siblings?

QUOTE(nshady @ Jul 17 2011, 04:49 PM)
I know we have some history with some players who flopped here. But i will put all my trust in SAF. as no one knows the team better than him. All the trophies he has won with us, proving he's one of the best manager of the decade. People may talk about pep guardiola or jose mourinho. But every team have their flops, even barca or real madrid. It's not easy to stay at a club for a long term just like SAF, i admire his credibility, he's not the type who win titles and the move to another club.

So thumbs up SIR ALEX FERGUSON! smile.gif
*
Then, I guess you are contradicting yourself, no? I thought earlier, you were the one that asked for these or that player as if you know the team inside out. Now. you're saying SAF knows best? So, that means you don't trust SAF back then? Is that it? Why sudden change of heart? Because of zero probability of big name midfielders joining the team?

Seriously, some of you lots in the thread are really funny. laugh.gif
