this is what i mean, the clutch cable is touching (slightly) the bottom radiator hose. maybe i need to check and make sure the bottom hose is fully pushed into the connector....

fuel filter easy to replace. just unscrew the clips and take out old filter, put in new filter (~RM5). no need to clip the hose first. yes, some fuel will drip but it's minimal. of course, make sure engine is not running when you do this...... tongue.gif and obviously make sure you don't have any open flame or cigarettes nearby when you're doing this.... tongue.gif

QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Jul 29 2011, 08:38 AM)

if radiator clogged, you can diy remove it send to shop to service. i think it's below RM100, but if it's beyond repair need to change the middle part, it's below RM300. check my post few pages back as i just did it for my iswara (not LMST). so far so good.

QUOTE(sinister_sid @ Jul 29 2011, 06:02 PM)
i dont think service center cover it in thier warranty
normally they will ask you to replace it rather than service it
have them check firt and see whats whats

i'm no sifu, but i believe it's stuck hot. that's why morning start it's shuddering. i think mine's stuck hot... so morning start RPM is only 500-600, but after warmed up RPM can be 900-1000 no issues at all.

if you look closely at the autochoke, from the front of the car, look to the left of the carburetor air filter housing, you can see a spring. trace the spring and it goes to a small linkage which can push against the throttle. after it's hot, it should not touch the throttle, but when cold, it should touch the throttle (as though you are stepping lightly on the accelerator pedal).

i noticed there are 2 small coolant hoses going into the autochoke, so i suspect when engine is warm/hot already, the coolant is supposed to 'expand' something in the autochoke so that it no longer touches the throttle....

just my layman understanding and guess. it's not based on any document or info which i've read before. may be wrong, maybe some sifu can teach us? thanks.

QUOTE(Chan320 @ Jul 31 2011, 09:10 AM)
here is a quick question to all the sifu,if autochoke on carb spoilt already,in what position is it stuck in?? cold or hot?

saga/iswara/lmst/waja is PCD 114.3..... cannot fit i think..

QUOTE(Chan320 @ Jul 31 2011, 08:41 PM)
try find alza rim, better air flow for brake cooling and might be lighter than waja rim

Added on July 31, 2011, 8:44 pmwanna ask,the autochoke adjustment turn which way can make engine smoother?? clockwise or anti clockwise?

in terms of $$, saga is 10/10. no other car can come close to it in terms of operating & maintenance costs. so cheap. in terms of comfort/looks/performance/safety/etc... probably 5 or so only, plenty of other cars nicer. smile.gif

wah 15-17km/l is very very good... unbelievable! how much more you want it to be? smile.gif like hybrid?

QUOTE(llJasell @ Aug 24 2011, 07:58 PM)
My stock LMST 08' get 15-17/L with minimum aircond switched on. Is there anything like changing better spark plug or engine oil to preserve/improve this??
*

Added on August 24, 2011, 8:02 pmjust felt it's high because i know wira 1.5m carb can get 12km/l city, and 2l continental automatic also can get 7km/l so i'm surprised iswara 1.3 lighter, only 10km/l smile.gif

but it's ok. just curious that's all.

measure it accurately then only can share the info. it's been repeated over and over,

1. pump full tank, take note of odometer reading.
2. drive
3. pump full tank, preferably at same petrol station, same pump. take note of odometer reading.

take the km traveled / actual amount of liters filled. then you get very accurate km/l.

if it's close to 10km/l i guess it's normal since most of us 1.3/1.5 manual also getting 10-11km/l only...
