Guys, I have this free Pendrive Mini 1GB stick. It's partitioned to 2 drives. Drive A is 2MB in size and has some Flash presentation inside that launches itself automatically (got autorun.inf). The drive is read-only and shows as a CD-ROM drive. Drive B is the remaining of the drive capacity. Any way I can merge these partitions or delete the Flash thing? Whenever I plug in the thumbdrive, the Flash thing just launches itself.

Yes you can delete the 2 partitions and then create a single one. See here: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...n.mspx?mfr=true

I kinda like my Voyager 4 GB. It's built tough. Maybe
the thick rubber insulates it but it doesn't heat up like
my Kingston 512 MB.

Looks like it could survive the washing machine too!

Not really that tough. The rubber casing is just wrap around the component. If you pull out abit the rubber casing, you can see the inside component. I got one time accidently bend the usb head between casing. Lucky it didn't break into two part. The rubber casing are easly stick with the dust when put inside pocket. I m using flash voyager 16GB.

try going to pendrive's website and look under FAQ or downloads. I have a PQI thumbdrive and it has the same thing. I've tried so many things to remove the write protected partition but unsuccessful. Turns out there's a software to be downloaded at PQI's site and it took me less than a minute to delete the partition. All the best

as u guys can see the performance is not so good at lower file size but increases until 256 kb.... then it goes down...

all and all... i think it's slow..... what do u guys think?

just to make things more interesting... i reformated the drive from FAT to FAT32.... AND THE PERFORMANCE DROPPED!!!! as you can see on reference drive #4... why i dunno hmm.gif and so my thumbdrive is actually faster when formatted to FAT rather than FAT32...

even my friend's old 1GB Pendrive is faster.... cry.gif

and i just bought this drive last month... what a piece of cr@p!!! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Hmm looks like Pendrive is not as nice as PQI... there's no such utility at Pendrive's website. Anyway thanks for the heads-up thumbup.gif

Well, you're not the only one. I bought one also, and I can say its the slowest usb drive I've every bought. Its slower than Kingston mini drive and my friend's pendrive.
I use diskbench software to test, my friend's pendrive can copy up to 5.2 mbps, while this PQI only can reach 2.1 mbps !!! No wonder everytime I copy a big sized file, I feel its very damn slow.

I will blacklist PQI like... forever ! Unless by some miracle, this damn usb can suddenly perform fast. vmad.gif
