Hi guys. I m looking for high capacity with fast speed write/read. So far in my search, I come down into this 2.

1) Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 - 256GB
2) Sandisk extreme - 128GB

I like the speed and the slick body of the Sandisk. But the capacity is just enough. Not enough for future. While the Kingston 256GB is good. But have to compromise a bit the speed and the not so extractive design.

Any others I should look to?

if i were u, i would go for ur 2th option icon_rolleyes.gif

Compare to my old cosair voyager 32gb, this 1 really fast. Writing speed at 26mb/s for 1 big file. While drop to 12mbs for multiple file.

Transcend JF500.

This thumbdrive turned out better than I thought as it is going to be my reformatting drive.

Got a new thumbdrive (Sandisk Ultra 16GB) from a random shop in Sunway Pyramid as I desperately need to format my computer.
Lost my old one above.

Minimal improvements from a USB 2.0 thumbdrive 2 years ago.

Edit: Turned out that thumbdrive was not in USB 3.0 mode.

Results in USB 3.0 mode:

I just got the Sandisk Extreme 32GB Thumb Drive at RM152.60 (pre-GST) . Not sure if it's still a good buy in view of the Type-C coming out. However I feel it will be some time before it gets outdated. The speed is fast even through a USB2.0 port but the built quality is kinda poor especially in comparison to the Sandisk Cruzer Titanium 8GB that I'm still using. It's too plasticky and the whole body creaks with lots of rattling sound. At this price, they should be giving this the titanium treatment as well.

Differences in speed between the two tested through a USB2.0 port. Extreme 32GB at the left and Titanium 8GB at the right.

Apacer just released a new flagship USB 3.0 flash drive, AH553. Actual testing showed that it has an ultra-fast top speed of 400MB/s read and 300MB/s* write speed, aggressively re-writing the record for flash drive read/write speeds! As a flagship product, it is equipped with robust aluminum casing, stable and has excellent texture; it also has a ultra high capacity of 256GB.

can get around RM150-170 (dec 2017)

according on website 32-128gb are on reading 150mb/s (spec) except 16gb model 130mb/s
for the writing speed , they only tell you up to 15x faster than usb2.0 (4mb) = 60mb/s ? max

when real test
32gb writing on 22Mb/s avg (video)
128gb writing on 40mb/s avg (video)

at least with this price.. its value than kingston which 10-15mb (almost same price range)
or anyone can provide the test?

32gb 100 g3 kingston writing on 15mb/s (video)
