Well that's their 'pasal' I suppose. Thing to note also is that Dalglish is British and hence will naturally be more familiar with British players. If you look at Man Utd's squad for example you'll note that Fergie values British born players as well.

I think Shelvey will go on loan next season as it was reported that if we buy adam, we must include loaning Shelvey to them. So i guess, it's one in and one out. Either way, it's still too packed in the middle and I m preparing for the worst that Meireles gonna leave.

Mata was great. Watched the U21 Tournament. He scored two goals against Ukraine. Good movement. Would be nice to see him in red shirt next season. On another note, another player linked with us, Bojan Krkic also played in that match, coming off bench. Very good movement at the box as well. Almost assisted teammate with a goal within the first five minutes he entered the field with his crossing from the left. Would be good if we managed to sign them up.

A bit surprising though that we din link with Javi martinez. Good player as well. When RB was around, we was touted to sign him. Now, not anymore.

i think it'll be either aquilani or mereiles who will be in the squad for the new season
it's a matter of who getting sold off first

Aquilani isn't going anywhere so it's meireles if anything but i think it'd be such a pity to leave after such a great season

sounds like a good deal for me. with jonjo getting more playing team in the championship. and darby too. with the emergence of flanno and kelly, it would be good if darby is able to be a reliable cover in the near future. and yes, looks like kenny n commolli are looking for players who need not adapt to the premier league in view to bring us back to the top4. winning the league is out of the question, although miracle happens. but for now, our target is towards europe and CL.

Mata and downing for me , aaron lennon isnt great imho

definitely mata...since the u-21 just end, hopefully we should act fast to sign mata..

based on soccernet, Meireles attract the interest from Juventus but no concrete news yet.

Downing is a good player imho but in Aston Villa, he played well in the center role. obviously Dalglish sign him to play him on the left wing which he excelled during his early career at Middlesbrough.
