Sold to Olympiacos for 1m

Henderson first caught my attention when he came off the bench to play against us last 2 seasons. First impression was that his work rate and energy shows very encouraging sign especially we all know that one of the midfielder's trait shud be tracking back and helping out the team. I haven't watch him in the U21 but I do see him as a potentially good player, if not world class.

We did pay 16m for Glenny who isn't world class but good player.So why not for Henderson who has at least 10-13 years in front of him?

Being England international doesnt mean you are world class players. To me, Glenny is still an above average but not the best player out there. At times, I think Kelly is as good as he is, if not better. With time, Kelly will only get better and it's only a matter of time that Kelly outshines Johnson in RWB.

As for Henderson, we are buying his potential. So, it's one with risk. But if we succeed, we can definitely sell him off for more in future, considering how expensive English players are nowadays.

I was reading news that we stopped the bidding of Adam and instead focus on the korean playmaker in celtic. Dubbed the korean Steven Gerrard *wow*

Mind tell me what's wrong with players like Downing, Cahill and Dann? I actually see them as great addition to the squad.

Added on June 22, 2011, 1:14 pmBelieve in what? Believe in his words that he is extremely fit? Age catches up with everyone. He is getting more and more injury prone. That's what happen in the previous 3 seasons. From 05- 08, he used to be getting 50 odds game under his belt. 08/09 season and 09/10 season, he is only getting 40+ and we know that out of those 40+, some are actually coming off the bench and he had been in and out of the treatment room with torres so frequent that it affects the result of the team. We were called two-men team whenever we lose matches because he was dating nurses in treatment room. Last season, he only managed 24 games. As statistics show, he is getting lesser and lesser game.

What word is there to eat?I would still sell him if someone comes up with 30m or so. Why not?

Not that I dont appreciate what Gerrard did for the club. What i wanna emphasize on is that he is not irreplaceable.

If you ask me, I would actually prefer Carra to be the captain any day. I have seen too many times that Gerrard just walked away when his teammates were involved with on pitch argument with official. Normally, it was Alonso or Carra that helped them out. It was until last season, after Kenny took over that Gerrard starting to protect his teammates. Seen that when he stood up and screw a Portuguese player crying for barbie doll when that Portuguese player tried to get Carra sent off. And it's not surprising he was trying to protect Carra because they came thru the rank together but will he do the same for others? That, I wonder.

Taking high wage, sitting in treatment room for long time certainly wont do us any good. Let's see what it takes this coming season. Will he be spending his time in treatment room or on the pitch?

No one is denying he is one of the best. I actually think that most of us see him as one of the best footballers around. All I m pointing out is that he is not irreplaceable and I questioned his role as a captain. See my reply to kewellrulez.

No. As much as I like Torres, he isn't Mr Liverpool. Someone like Gerrard, Carra and maybe to certain extent Reina, yes, they can be called Mr Liverpool but not Torres. No doubt Torres is the best seller of jersey in the team but that alone cant make him the man of the team. Suarez sold much more kit than Gerrard is but does that make him Mr Liverpool? Obviously not. Gerrard is still the man.

Of Maxi and Gerrard issue, I was actually stating that I would prefer them to stay but every player has a price.That includes Gerrard. I m not against Maxi leaving. I m just stating that it's hard to find a replacement of his quality willingly sit on the bench week in and week out. That was what I mentioned few pages back.

I dont see why everyone is making a fuss out of it. It's all for the sake of discussion. It had been too quiet of lately. No news , no new signing.

I thought no one noticed that. Thanks for clarifying. People do take things too seriously these days.

Juventus is really pissing me off.

First they wanted to buy Aqua then forcing us to drop the price.
After the deadline, we agreed dropping the price, then they hired a new coach and decided against buying Aqua.

Then now, they came in for Meireles and offer us Melo + cash. What do you think we are? Some mid table club accepting anyone into our squad? Stop throwing us ur reject player and if you want Meireles, pay the price the board ask for! Damn it!

LOL. Mate, you have to look at the length of contract between Young and Downing. Young has 12 months left and Downing has 3 years.

As for Carrol, the owner set up the margin that we must have a difference of 15m between Torres and Carrol. If Carrol cost us 50m, RA will have to pay us 65m for Torres. That's the plan of the owner as disclosed by Henry himself.

I think Shelvey will go on loan next season as it was reported that if we buy adam, we must include loaning Shelvey to them. So i guess, it's one in and one out. Either way, it's still too packed in the middle and I m preparing for the worst that Meireles gonna leave.

Mata was great. Watched the U21 Tournament. He scored two goals against Ukraine. Good movement. Would be nice to see him in red shirt next season. On another note, another player linked with us, Bojan Krkic also played in that match, coming off bench. Very good movement at the box as well. Almost assisted teammate with a goal within the first five minutes he entered the field with his crossing from the left. Would be good if we managed to sign them up.

A bit surprising though that we din link with Javi martinez. Good player as well. When RB was around, we was touted to sign him. Now, not anymore.

Apparently, he took a pay cut to join us. His performance alone means that he deserved a new deal and an improved one.
