Question: for those placing your booking this month, were you guys promised any freebies or perks? How about you owners, did you guys receive any gifts? Free Service? Fuel Voucher or the sort?
*
I did receive RM300 tint voucher which I never used, some goodies fr Naza like shower radio, rear n side blinds, full tank, Smart Tag and steering lock. The last 2 items we requested direct fr the SA

Better wait for new unit coz 1k discount for demo car with 9++ on the odometer is not worth it.
If you really want the car in 1 or 2 weeks time, suggest you ask for at least 7-8k discount.
Other companies like VW can give discount up to 10-15k for brand new pre-registered 2011 cars. Mind you, these are new cars and not demo or showroom car.

If the manager cannot give much discount, ask him to give you full accessory like side steps, front and rear bumper protectors, safety tint, DVD entertainment unit, etc. biggrin.gif

I am getting the firestorm from the guy in penang when i am there next week
will give it a good test and give some feedback when i get it.

He mention the effect would be good
ANyway if you do some research there something sold by KL auto called the alternator booster, pricing i think its around Rm400. Seems to work wonders for the Hyundai Sonata's. So basically this device should work well with ours too.
*
I did install KL Autos's alternator booster on my Lancer.
If this firestorm can work some magic on the Sportage like alternator booster, I'm game biggrin.gif

i pass by glenmarrie, main kia branch, since tuesday i don't see much sportage just the sorento. i guess they really don't have stock considering its cny.
When i picked up my car before raya there were like 7 sportage waiting to be picked up.

I book the first week of july and got it before raya. Guess lucky and the salesman there were really good.
*
When I did my 1000km servicing at Kia 3S Glenmarie, the only Sportage I can see is mine tongue.gif
Saw 3 brand new Sorentos 2.4l, all withough registration no. yet...
I think the latest delivery in end Dec, early Jan were for those who booked in August and after Raya....

is it this car been CKD? i saw some of the ads is showing 112k in stead of 138k. By the way, i even saw a ads in web which given 17k discount out from the 112k, hard to believe!!!
*
That is for the previous generation.
When I booked my Sportage at Kia Jln Pahang during Raya, saw a brand new old model going for 97k

I paid slightly above 300 for the Alternator Booster for my Lancer as I was a regular customer at KL Auto.
Noticeable improvement:-
Quiter background on the audio system, with deeper bass.
For engine, less vibration when idling, better pickup.
Never take note on the FC though as I changed the exhaust setup after that

how many wires do you know?

Sorry bro, sold my Lancer already.... and the Alternator Booster also biggrin.gif
It just looks like 1 big size capacitor wrapped in thermal material.
Des said the components inside are from Germany and I just took his words.
1 cable connected to the battery terminal (can't remember) and another to the car body (ground cable)

Any of you guys can confirm that our fog lamp is using 881 bulb (same as Forte)?
Thinking of changing the foglight to HID but not many accessory shops sell 881 kit.

I know the headlamp and hi-beam are using H7 coz I just changed this weekend

Yes the foglamp is 881 base bulb
Not recommemded to change HID as the original voltage is 27watt while hid is 35watt
You might need to add a wiring harness (relay) or some ballast that built in with warning cancellers
Thanks bro....
No wonder 1 acc. shop told me need to add another RM30 for a relay if I want to change to HID...

wow, so its 12.8km/L, erm, is it better compare with D segment cars?
*
From my experience, only if maintain 100-110 km/h, I can get < 9L/100km.
Once the average speed drop to <50 km/h, the FC is bad coz the car is on AWD mode.

Nope if below 50km then AWD can come in if its rainny or slippage
if you notice you car when raining suddenly can become very heavy then the AWD kicks in

IF you keep 110km with autocruise and climb the mountains then the engine will kick the gear down to 4th and rev hard to maintain the torque. I stick to 6th gear or do 5th when needed

As mention i get around
1) before first service was 8.8km/100km
2) after first service is 8.4-8.6/100km
3) with KNN air filter its 8/100km
4) KNN air filter and Firestorm its 7.8/100km

note kl-penang is more fuel consumption than kl johor. AS the south route is flat
Thanks for sharing....
So far the furtherst I drove is only to Sekinchan, which is slightly above 100km from KL only biggrin.gif
Most of the time stuck in KL jam, that's why my FC is normally 11-12L/100km

P/S: between anyone know why the keyless alarm still count as accessory??As sportage already come standard
*
IIRC, our Sportage is only equipped with keyless start/stop and immobilizer, but NO alarm...
When I booked my car in September, the SA offered the option to install the alarm for $8xx and anti-glass sensor for $2xx.

But when I collected the car in December, Naza already sent out circular to their SAs not to install alarm as there was a reported case of a Sportage short-circuited after alarm installation.
The Service Advisor at KIA Glenmarie confirmed this when I sent my car for the 1st servicing.

After that the SA informed me that Naza gives the go ahead to install the alarm, provided we do it together with the security tint package as the reported short-circuit case was due to some water seeped into the alarm vox or wire when the owner sent the car for window tinting.

From the pictures of the brochures, I googled for autogarde tint, but can't find any info.
How good is the tint?

Hi all sifu here!
Plan to change my car so already view the kia sportage very nice and good looking aslo! but i need to know more about the millage! cause as told by the puchong guy for city drive rm 50 can get about 350km is it true?
*
From my experienced (my odo is only 5xxx km), city driving will only get you 350km, from full tank until the refueling light on, should be about 40-45l of petrol used.

if only until low fuel light turn on can get 350km, it is good enough already, pretty much comparable to my modded civic 1.8 in city driving

It's definitely more than RM50 as quoted by the Puchong guy who told andy1_8 tongue.gif
More like RM80-85

I blew the fuse for my immobilizer and cabin lamp during the weekend.
I was checking the lamp size for the vanity mirror lamp when I accidentally touched the + and - metal connector of the lamp holder.
Sent my car to KIA Glenmarie at 8:30am (with appointment already) and only at 2:30 pm they called me that my car is ready.

When I dropped my car at the SC, I told them I blew the fuse but they said they need to check the wiring, the computer, bla, bla, bla...
I asked them can't you just check by plugging the the computer into the car OBD2 port or using test pen or test meter?
They said that our car is too complicated and hi-tech and so on and so on.

At 2:30 pm, they called me and said that they found the cause to be a blown fuse (which I have suggested to them) and they blame it on my car TPMS sensor which I plugged into the OBD2.
Deep down I know the TPMS sensor is not the cause coz I had in installed since the first week and no problem whatsoever. I didn't tell the technician I was fiddling with the vanity mirror lamp when the fuse blown coz I wanna know how good is NAZA service centre. Now I know they are sucks and I just think their technicians are clueless.... and we have to live with it.... sigh!

Added CF sticker to the fuel lid, chrome door visor, small number plate with CF-background (kena saman by TP coz non-standard plate).
Change the high beam to Philips DV so that have blue reflection on the reflector and change the stock bulb to Philips Xtreme Vision.
I also bought customised 3M superior carpet in SG for S$175.

For cabin light, I changed to LED but revert to stock when I sent the car to SC yesterday.
Want to install foot light, LED door panel and illume scuff plate but have to KIV coz of the blown fuse incident.
Asked the SC on alarm installation and was told by the Service Advisor it is still a no go for Sportage, Optima and Santa Fe.

Yea. I' more than happy to get the car than the free gift. But Im glad that I get to top up just abit more to get good quality tint and carpet. So it is worth the money. Maybe you should have ask why there is no full tank of fuel. Because a lot of people also get full tank when they get their car.
*
I got half tank coz I asked the SA to fill-up with RON97....
If 95, he said he can give me full tank.
I also asked for SmartTag and steering lock from the SA coz these 2 are not standard freebies.

well brunei also got black, i even saw red brunei sportage before...damm sexy colour
i guess naza not able to request those colour as its very high demand worldwide
Just now i sms asking them bout the full skirt pricing
U know how much they quote me
Bloody rm10k for that front and rear skirt
Afterwards i watapps my korean supplier to clarify the price he can give me
Full set only rm2500-RM2600, including twin exhaust tips at back..
Price excluding shipping of course
Nowadays accessory shop really buaya one...exspecially those company are already famous locally
_|_ RM10k better use the money change to 20inch rim....sigh
*
Saw a mustard yellow Sportage in SG before.
If Naza bring other colour for Sportage, I might be tempted to get the blue or red, instead of the techno orange I'm driving now.

Anyway, RM10k for just front and rear skirts are bloody daylight robbery. shakehead.gif
For RM10k I expect new design of front and rear bumpers, new front grille with CF hood and some side skirting biggrin.gif

Yup! Called the SA number u gave. No discount!

Added on April 1, 2012, 4:22 pmi finally book the sportage at the 1U road show. No discount but the SA give me free tinting. The SA say is 5mil security tint. Dunno is good or not. By the way SA mention that the tinting and alarm shud be done by the panels. Said got ppl do tinting and the water seep into the dashboard and cause short circuit. Dunno true or not.

Anyone did the alarm? Is it needed?

Would appreciate your feedback on the tinting and alarm. cheers
*
I asked the Service Advisor again on the alarm issue when I sent my Sportage for repair to KIA Glenmarie last week.
He told me they still receive no go from HQ on the alarm installation as there was another case of the alarm short-circuited the odometer and the owner have to pay >RM3k for replacement.
Was informed by him that the owner installed a front sensor on his ride and the SA who approved the alarm installation was from the Glenmarie branch also.

Previously there was a reported case of short-circuit due to water seepage during window tinting, hence the circular from NAZA HQ for no go on alarm installation.

Buy spare cover from eBay for US$6-7/piece.
Next time want to change the lamp to stock if want to claim warranty, just screw back the replacement cover tongue.gif

Btw, foglight use 881, same as Forte.
