wow! kepala pening lo...

so if take out, claim back $$$ from naza? since it is the authorised accessories.
i think then better stay away from the alarm and get the car locks first.
any good recommendations on sportage car locks?
*
Twice I asked the Service Advisor whether can install alarm already, and both times he said no...
Right now I'm using Stoplock steering lock from my previous car.
I've asked around for Locktech brake lock but so far still cannot find for Sportage.

When I booked my car, the SA said give me free locktech. If there isn't any for Sportage, how he going to do this for me? Means I kena con??
*
I've only asked few neighbourhood car accessory shops, so my search might not be thorough enough.
If your SA managed to give you free Locktech, please share with us also.
Anyway, there is another brand called LockTact which is locally made and the quality is
lower compared to LockTech but the price is much lower

Update:
Just received an email reply from the Locktech distributor in Malaysia that they still don't have the lock for Sportage

......

The accessories said it is authorise to install in Sportage!!! it will be warranty by Naza if there is any short-circut cost by the alarm!!!
*
The thing is, when you sent your car to the service centre, the Service Advisor will ask you to remove it....
They will say the SA get some commission from this accessory installation.... while their HQ still don't allow alarm installation....
When you go back to your SA, he will say the HQ already approved the alarm installation....
So how? rclxub.gif

Can I know what brand of bulbs you bought to replace the OEM headlamp and hi-beam bulbs and how much?

Thanks...
*
Sorry for the late reply...
For the OEM headlamp, I changed to Philips Extreme Vision and hi-beam I used Philips Diamond Vision.
Both cost ard RM230-250/pair from any car acessory shop...
As both are H7 bulb, you can always swap them to your preference

Sifu sifu,

I got my car since three weeks ago until now, I notice tat my fc was about 14L/100km..how come ah..😥

Anyone know why??
*
Bro,
Do join the Sportage Owner Group in FB....
More technical discussion and sharing of info there...

As for your FC, if you're stuck in traffic jam most of the time, you'll be getting ard 12-14L/100.
It will tend to improve after your odo clock >5k km...

You are not alone. Have you driven a SUV before ? If not, please research around. SUV FC is high compare to other types. Pretty common if you fc is ard 12-14l/100km. CRV, Harrier have higher fc than Sportage, not to mention the prev version of Sportage.
*
I've driven an Unser and a Triton before, so I know about the SUV fc before I bought the Sportage.
I was only replying to Joe Yip query....
I suggest you quote the right post before you answer... peace....

QUOTE(GTA5 @ Jul 7 2019, 06:21 AM)
Hi all sifus,

My bro in law plan to get a 2012 Sportage priced at 48k.

Filly serviced at Kia.

Any feedback from Sportage owners here regarding its reliability especially engine?

Thank you!
*
I had the 2011 GT, which is the 1st batch CBU of the previous version.
Sold it last year with mileage about 130k.
It’s a good and reliable ride, other than the normal wear and tear, with the normally reported issue being the aircond compressor after a few years of usage.
My main complaint is the hight FC as it is an Awd.
For my mixed drive, with full tank of 55L, I was only getting 350-400km.
For comparison, on my 2018 CX-5 2.2D, although it is a turbo diesel and Fwd only, for the same route, my mileage is about 650-700km for 56L tank

Thanks for the feedback!
This is the one with Nu engine right?
*
Another thing to check is the sunroof motor and rubber lining.
As I didn't use sunroof that often, before I sold my ride, the sunroof was stuck half-way and wouldn't close.
I could hear the motor whirring sound but the sunroof appeared stuck.

Luckily I managed to get it closed before handed it over to the 2nd-hand car dealer. sweat.gif
Last time the SC guy told me the newer Nu engine is more economical than mine Theta engine

Probably just need to lubricate the sunroof railing/mechanism only. As with anything, when you don't operate for too long, it won't work too smoothly. This is not a major issue, as don't hear much complaint about the sunroof malfunctioning.
*
You're right bro.
Normally the major complaint are the aircond compressor which I was worried too coz during the last 2-years ownership, I had to refill the gas every 8-9 months or so although my mechanics couldn't really find the leakage
