I do know how the ratings affect the business, but hell, it does not change the fact that, good animes are good animes, its just the audience taste matters when it comes to ratings.(of course those low quality ones not included)

Geez, nowadays hardly got ppl view animes as an independent art pieces and appreciate their beauties.

cant comment on daily lives as i didnt watch that, as for k-on, well, anime is unexplainable sometimes LOL. lets just sit back and watch out animes.

Just decided to go through this series after I've dropped it...
...this is just awful, kind of a waste to all those ost's.

That is just saying that you are a hipster and avoiding anything mainstream. Discounting Bleach/Naruto/One Piece, rating is a good way to see the overall performance of a series and what's the market is. And don't think the Japs themselves can't appreciate something that is good. Majority of them would be discussing this on 2ch, which is much more larger than any internet community you can find. i am sure it's been discussed to death there, and would be then mirrored to 4chan (bless their plagiarist souls) which would be then understood by the non Japanese speaking weeboes around the world. A good anime series would immediately have an impact (think Evangelion, Haruhi's first run, K-On, etc) and this series have none. Except for the good seiyuu list and constant quality animution, it's a subpar series

Talented seiyu + Good ost/bgm + quality animation = plain show. Imo, too much top notch talent ruined this series. Everything is on same level of quality thus making it mediocre.
Dont remember evangelion ost/bgm. Macross storyline is sing sing sing and huge kaboom in the end. Gunbuster is absolutely pointless. Geass is way too overdramatic. Those anime are flawed and that what makes em awesome.
Maybe this show need to tone down a bit. Use cheap generic techno music or sub all animation out or hire rookie seiyu or replace the director and writer with some pantsu shot bouncing bewbs specialist for an episode or two.

But sure, if you want to ignore the slipshod animation (don't make me dig out the DEEN-quality animation) for recent episodes, and my favorite, the stupidly dumb, all over the place, trying too hard to be DEEP and ends up falling flat first on it's face Story, then sure it's passable at best.

Hell, the OST is one of ryo and supercell's weaker themes, and the new vocalists can't match up to Nagi.

So yeah, this supposedly "good" anime only has the sound direction going for it. But hey, it's all good right?

it good or not good...if u dun like it dun watch done..i m oni watching for the sake of the action and twist in plot..there plenty of coffee to choose from if you dun like this..but i doubt so most of us here like it...rather than bashing it..juz watch...lol

yeah the are alot of self proclaim anime critics in here.

The realization that I'm perhaps the only one who somewhat enjoys Hyakko while the rest of the world hates it. Also I don't watch K-On.
